  1. Just things i spotted whilst surfing....live updates,Kenni was doing well,Hans ok.Klindt + Michelsen were two of the riders involved in the run-off and it seems Mikkel got knocked out as he was complaining about the rules. But i haven't gone looking for anything.Just stuff that crossed my path
  2. Mikkel Bech won his round.Porsing was 3rd in his,Mads 2nd in his.Maybe all the same round.....5 way run-off in Glumsö and Madsen finished second as well......
  3. Surely if it is a mental illness that affects decision making for instance, and also seems to need drugs to help then it sounds pretty dangerous for someone to participate in a motor sport. And i thought i have read once or twice of people taking not only their own life, but the life of others. That sounds fairly dangerous
  4. Should he be allowed to ride when he is suffering from something like this,i wonder?
  5. That is if the email reaches them in time No Dutch guy in ????(again)
  6. Give them their due, there was an open offer(at least from Brokstedt) for suggestions on changes to the Bundesliga.I put forward the idea to get rid of the helmet colour for gates and start using the normal rule of red/blue for home team and white/yellow for the away team. They did take that up,which helped me out at least because i was always getting confused with the previous system.I also suggested some years back the reserves rode against each other,as they were at the time usually well outclassed. This was also introduced, but dropped after a year or so So they are open to suggestions from the fans and maybe we don't always get it right either. The Bundesliga as a competition is a bit of a mickey mouse thing, but if it provides good speedway it doesn't matter that much.Yesterday there was over 3,000 at Brokstedt which compares good with the Bromberg GP.As it is they are lucky there are 3 teams that are in,as after last years fiasco at the Brokstedt v Landshut meeting,Brokstedt were seriously considering not entering this year i think
  7. Be interesting to see how Adam Ellis and for me,particularly how Kai Huckenbeck go in Stralsund.Wish i could be there as it looks a super line-up.Also have my eye on the performance of Lunna in Leicester. One of the guys i saw on 80cc along with Wozniak as well as the Danes + Swedes of course
  8. Caught Brokstedt out today,as they didn't have a heat 0 in the programme!!!!
  9. But if Bellamy states he thinks the SEC should be a junior event what conclusions are to be made from that? What he isn't saying is riders should be banned. What he is saying is some riders shouldn't be allowed to enter.Same thing in the end, just he is trying to be cleverer than the FIM
  10. I certainly do acknowledge the fact.Just like i do acknowledge the fact that they did bring the series on to a new level. But even one of the major sponsors has stated here that he thinks the whole thing went a bit stale a few years back and it is a fact that we are now at the point where the latest GP was held in one of, if not the major speedway country before a paltry crowd. The ticket sales were poor before the weather was known. Houston,we have a problem!!!!
  11. But nothing much was said at the time the deal was made and nothing was done at the time.Just after the SEC took off and got on Eurosport and looked like a bit of a challenge to the SGP.....only then was a fuss made. And why?It does seem that Armando has confirmed some peoples suspicions that it was because of BSI Now i am not one of those that want to see BSI or the SGP suffer as like i said on one of the previous threads it is in the end speedway that suffers.
  12. You yourself have stated that BSI ask what they think the market can afford. There is no set price for all countries. They don't ask the same money from Italy that they do from Sweden and Poland,so why do they expect different from the FIM?
  13. But they are the deals agreed at the time. When the deal was done for the SEC the FIM would have been happy to get almost anything for the competition. The fact that it has been boosted beyond most peoples imagination shozuldn't be held against One Sport.Or do you and BSI think because it has been turned into a bit of a success the FIM should turn around and say "Ok you have done a good job now we want to go back on the deal and get 10 times the money agreed"? It all comes down to the fact an outside party has come into speedway, taken a low key competition and turned it around.BSI were happy to do their deal and the FIM were probably laughing all the way to the bank when One Sport wanted the SEC...... What is very worrying is that BSI seem to have milked the market and we are now at the stage when our major competition is being held in one of the major countries before a crowd below that of a lot of league meetings and like i said before a 1,000 people less than a relatively low key open meeting in germany the week before!!!!Blaming Basketball or the Pope isn't going to help much.Just as almost every time i see a rider comment about a poor performance he never blames himself it is almost always his set up or mechanical problems........
  14. I think it always will Phil, which is why i really don't understand all the fuss.It has been given a big boost and in doing that has helped boost speedway a little bit.But it doesn't have the title of world champ and so will never have that status and so shouldn't have to pay the same as the top competition.Really the only way the fuss can be understood is that BSI are peeved
  15. I thought Bellamy said in a recent interview he thought the SEC should be a junior event.Imo that means he wants it downgraded or how do you see that?It doesn't seem to me that he agrees with the statement you put on here that "the more successful EVERY speedway meeting is...." .
  16. What i have been saying on here about the trouble with the SEC.......and not a view seemingly held by either the FIm or BSI who want to try and downgrade the SEC to the more or less, non event it was before One Sport came on the scene
  17. Pretty good from NKI to say that.Nothing really new from a fans view, but good to have top riders come out and tell it like they see it.Is a pity Coventry seems to have gone to the dogs. What i find quite important it the part about not blaming silencers......
  18. Güstrow got 4,000 on saturday and Timo Lahti,Kai Huckenbeck and Nicolai Klindt were among the top liners Heard tickets are going pretty well for the SEC meeting there as well
  19. The competition is a joke if you want to look at it like that.Let's be fair, some people are just looking to find fault. It is a series, which i am not sure has ever been done before. But in many if not most competitions with qualis and then finals you will get different riders in team or pairs events.I agree it would be better to have the same riders in all meetings, but also can see why riders might be selected for different tracks etc In the end it is a hopefully good speedway meeting with a meaningless title if you want to see it like that. The main thing is the riders get decent competition and money, the fans get value for money and the promoters are happy .Anything else is just moaning.......I'd guess Landshut and the fans who go are ok with the Polish line-up
  20. Ok,i must have read that wrong....the possible suggestion that Kevin was doing what Gjedde done at Berwick.I guessed Gjedde deliberately lowered his average.
  21. Surely if what he said that his engine went "pow",then that would explain it?He said his second bike lacked compression.Like i said,he was skint and someone came in to save his career. But to what extent has the financial support helped?Maybe he doesn't have the finances to really get two or three bikes up to the standard he would like. Then i can only see more problems ahead as he struggles for points or money.I certainly don't think there is anything deliberate in this. But maybe his head isn't right as well.He needs a few good meetings one after the other and maybe will turn the corner.I hope so as he is much better than these performances this year
  22. Yes there was an internet fan campaign to raise money for him and from hearing(only part) of his interview yesterday it seemed someone stepped in with financial help to save his career.
  23. Really don't think it is anything like that.He was very very close to packing it all in over the winter. His confidence must be pretty low and he,from what i have read done an engine today and his second bike was poor.No real excuses though for that i guess as if you turn up with bikes they should be top notch. But such is life.Sometimes they ain't He didn't impress yesterday on what is pretty much his german home track,so it isn't imo anything to do with average fiddling etc
  24. Wasn't Henny Kroeze of all riders, the first to do a 21pt max?
  25. Think they do.Don't think the riders have much choice.I remember in Germany's case, that Kevin Wölbert was a bit fed up always seeming to get long trips whereas other riders always seemed to get "home" meetings and then stated he wouldn't do any more meetings
