  1. An amazing revelation given the propaganda we have been fed by "Our man at the BSI" Good on Armando for blowing the lid on this and confirming what a lot of us pretty well knew Sounds a good magazine.Wonder if the Star would print such revelations?
  2. Wouldn't be the first time.....especially after a few bottles of Einbecker Ur-Bock
  3. I do have a standard reply to personal attacks......but i have filed it away on my computer and can't find it.I think i need to use an index
  4. Oh so the SEC gets the blame for the problems in the Ukraine.I guess they are also to blame for the missing plane in the Indian ocean and Manchester Utd getting knocked out of the Champions League
  5. Now that would be innovative!!! But i do prefer the basic version from Denmark
  6. Don't think you can blame the SEC for Timo not wanting to be there.Maybe blame the FIM/BSI
  7. I think the FIM have to take a fair bit of the blame for their actions over the winter.BSI rightly or wrongly got dragged into it as well in the minds of the fans. And they didn't endear themselves much to fans from Russia either by saying they should support the Finnish GP as a home meeting. So over the winter Polish,Russian and many other fans were reacting negatively to FIM/BSI.And you are right i do think prices are partly to blame and your point on the Polish representatives make it easy for the fans to boycott this.I think if Poland had a Gollob or Emil like rider in the competition the fans might not boycott the GP(s) in such numbers
  8. He wasn't doing too bad until that last sentence!!!!I don't agree with his statement, but he was putting across his views quite well, until he dropped that bit in
  9. I would agree with you.My thoughts on Servus is that they have good coverage of Ice Hockey and Red Bull haven't shyed away from getting involved in SGP.They have sponsored a few riders over the years and didn't they even sponsor a Danish GP when Mikkel Bech was the(their) wildcard? It is about the only channel i could think of,ruling out most of the others i know.Maybe Smoli can sell it to them and get himself some Red Bull sponsorship as well?Only trying to second guess what his plan is. I was only trying to point out that the hardcore fans aren't affected by this and Munichmassive came along to back up my point by saying he prefers watching streams rather than the coverage on Sport 1+,which i also couldn't get.In fact i can't get Servus either, but could pop round to my girlfriend who has it in her Cable package. But as i said it is the casual fans Smoli needs to reach for his sponsors. You can't show sponsors any figures for fans who watch foreign tv or livestreams. It is a shame that Smoli got little or no attention from the media after his win.Like you,i didn't notice anything. My guess is with him and maybe his press man half way round the world it wasn't easy to get things done and it was probably as much of a shock to them as anyone else,so they had nothing in place.I know that speedway coverage in the hamburg edition of the Bild has not been too bad over the last two years or so,but that is i guess down to the press guys at Brokstedt. We have to hope now he is back and the rest of the meetings are fairly local that he will be on the ball from now on
  10. Not sure i agree with you on this.It does seem from the friends i know and friends of friends that most people are only too happy to watch speedway on streams or foreign channels, whether it be GPs or foreign leagues. There are lots doing it and i saw plenty of comments and even pics of their rooms or when i go to meeting people ask me if i have watched such and such meeting, which can only be watched in this way.I don't think the problem is with the fans who go quite regularly. The problem at least for Smolinski i guess is he won't be reaching those armchair fans or casual viewers who.will get counted amongst those 5 million or so who watched Eurosport. It does seem speedway didn't get great figures on Sport1+ .In my opinion the numbers of fans in Germany are fairly small, with few "club" fans like in England or Poland, but more regional fans who go to most meetings.I tend to see lots of the same faces at meetings in the north.I would guess it is the same situation in the south. I wonder if Smoli is thinking of a channel like Servus TV which shows Ice Hockey in the winter. Not sure if they have a regular sport they show in summer. It might only be a relatively small channel, but it is free and might be happy with the numbers that speedway would attract.
  11. Would expect a late surge from german fans after last weekend and the fact it is so near
  12. There is an item of news about Ivan today in the german speedway press if you want to look at "speedweek"
  13. Wouldn't be surprised if this isn't something to do with the fall out from the winter troubles.Wasn't there talk of a boycott of BSI events in Poland? And then no Gollob + Emil certainly don't help in this neck of the woods
  14. Wittstock have just announced they have pulled out of this years Bundesliga.Causes they state are their two planned home meetings are both against Landshut and one of the dates they have been given clashes with neighbours Wolfslakes meeting. They state the asked and were refused for their meeting to be run a couple of days later .Such a clash would only split the crowd at both tracks.
  15. That is one side of the story. The other side is the rules were broken. We have subsequently had a new story about the rules being broken, not of course involving Harris. But a pattern is being set..........The Harris story has been done in depth and was meant to show my position on the rider, not bring the whole topic back up for discussion.Just take a look back at the thread if anyone wants to read through it all.....and it has been repeated umpteen times that no-one blames him
  16. Himself, nothing of course and i didn't mean to suggest otherwise
  17. Put it on here before that imo Harris only got in by bending or breaking the rules. That is in the past now and he is there.Saw a number of comments on Facebook(mainly from Denmark)along similar lines of "get him out" or "he has got to go..".No big fan,but after just one meeting i think all the talk is a little bit premature.Have to hope he somehow gets things together and puts up a decent show.We have no-one else at the mo.
  18. The comment wasn't made by one of your aliases was it?Talking to yourself again I have seen a few conversations on Facebook about you and they were unfavourable. So it all evens itself up in the end
  19. Do give up.He mentioned 398cc and 598cc or something around there. In between those two comes 498cc or 500cc.Is that any easier for you.Shall i give you a shovel as i am sure yours is well used by now As for any further debate with you.....i refer you to the previous post.Put up or shut up
  20. My point on which i have subsequently had a few decent contributions from the likes of "Vince" was i am more of the opinion that ability rather than age should be the vital factor. So Germany,GB and Australia all have differeing age restrictions and as was pointed out even the speedway age limit doesn't coincide with the limit set by law, whether that be 18,19,20 or 21 doesn't matter. It isn't the same as on a speedway track But as i concede to Vinces point, how other older riders react to youngsters is also an important factor. But that is the case whether they be 14,15,16 etc or as i pointed out female.Like i pointed out i did actually see Lambert ride against older guys without problem. So again you come out and shoot yourself in the foot.Must have quite a few holes in them by now
  21. Honestly, you just make pointless contributions........ok so you are retired and have time on your hands but you must be able to make decent comments on some threads surely? I put a post on here that was on the topic and i thought might interest people.Obviously as the topic is of no interest to you,you just came here because you saw i had posted something and well....... Why not start a thread on the years gone by section on all your tales from the old days.Sure it would interest a lot of people, but posting stuff from decades ago on any old topic is going to get you flak from those that want to read about the topic and will get missed by those that might be interested in your memories
  22. Go find me the evidence or give an apology and then you can make demands.Until that time you will be labelled a "liar"
  23. The evidence would suggest otherwise.I post an on topic post about speedway in a country that "never particularly interested"you and not long after you are on the thread posting your usual nonsense.Nice work Gustix
  24. No i made a mistake it wasn't you it was SCB that stated it.Doesn't change the fact that if he is right then the law states you have to be 21 to ride a 500cc. As for the rest, well i pulled you up about a comment you atributed to me.Unlike myself or like i said before credit to BWitcher he also admitted he was wrong, you never came up with the evidence or an apology.Say's all i need to know about you as i guess neither the evidence or a retraction/apology will be forthcoming
  25. Thanks for the clarification Got any more stories about Germany that might be of some interest? Maybe from the last few years if possible
