  1. Recently at the local Bundesliga club the long time physio died. Now the guy was a legend at the club working with players going back to long time friend kevin Keegan. The club announced they were asking for donations for a statue outside the ground in his memory. Now this is a club dealing with millions of euros and he had close relationships with players who were millionaires.I am sure that in closed circles a request could have been made and more than enough would be raised for a decent memorial. But it is a club and it is probably right to ask the fans and let them feel a part of this,no matter how small the donation. There are lots of cases of one parent having to find work in another country and leave the family behind for years. In this case i don't really see his need to leave the family behind. He does have the choice to go back to them and won't i guess really be financially that badly off and in reality his career won't really suffer from a season out of the EL/PL.But it isn't really anyones prpblem if donations are asked for and given.Mountain out of a molehill, comes to mind. And after making a statement and defending the opinion two or three times it becomes pointless and obsessive to carry on over 10 or 20 posts!!!
  2. Bet one of the Lahti brothers is kicking himself now!!!
  3. It can't be.I posted the good news that Jawa, after a few years of difficulty and the worry of closure have been saved. The opposite would be Phil wanting the factory closed and no more engines being produced. As long as they are developing new engines then there is a chance Phils utopian idea might come to fruition. If they close then there is no chance is there?
  4. Would Scottish riders come in on a high asessed average as foreigners?Guess it isn't a big problem as there aren't many or any to be assesed
  5. Also wonder if there is some bias within the German team.We have had 5 riders used in two meetings, but strangely the actual German Champ hasn't been picked!!!!
  6. From what was said on Eurosport last night Jawa is on the way back.Klaus Lausch is heading a team on developing a new engine that will give GM competition. From what was said it will be far more advanced than what GM have at the moment. So it looks like Phils wishes might come true
  7. Got to agree.Good advert for the sport and for German speedway as well.Härtel looks very promising and not sure what the criticism of Smoli was from some riders on twitter, but some could take a lead from him.Nice shot of his out among the crowd shaking hands, talking to people and having his photo taken.Germany a bit unlucky not to make the semi as they twice made the gate and once at least it was dubiously called back. Had the feeling Norbert the commentator was slightly peeved with Egon Müllers commentary and kept cutting him short and going off in another direction.Kept saying it was a sell out 12,000 crowd, which would be excellent if true.Otherwise congrats to all for a great nights entertainment
  8. If i go to Teterow and i am pretty keen, then i will give a tenner to Adam or someone else in the team.Promise King's Lynn aren't doing it for charity are they?BSI aren't doing it for charity are they? And it isn't up to either to fund youth development at this level,it is up to the BSPA
  9. Denmark as hosts are seeded into the final. Two semis with the winners of both going through and the best second placed. With this being a fairly strong semi i would expect the second best in Sweden to go throug, but that is just an opinion
  10. It is the BSPA's representative that picks the team,so they are responsible to that extent and if BSI are the promoters maybe they will want compensation if they or King's Lynn think the crowd has suffered because of choosing youngsters
  11. Is that for f-s-p's sauna or for the speedway?!!!!!!!
  12. All well and good saying, pick youngsters for the future(and ideally i would go for that),but a Promoter is hosting the meeting and i guess hoping to get a good crowd. If you go with youngsters that are there for the experience how will that affect the crowd? And will the BSPA compensate the promoter for his losses?I say that as someone who has spent out€60 for next weeks Germany v Poland football match and today the squad was announced and i hardly recognise anyone.Basically a 'B' team for 'A' team prices and i don't really care much for the development of German footballers, although that wouldn't be the case for the SWC team
  13. Think it will be a pretty tough meeting. At least we have someone who has good experience of german tracks and Ellis didn't do too badly last weekend, which should help him.The other two might struggle a bit as the competition will be fierce. The Czechs have at least a couple of riders who look very promising and Germany have a couple as well and the Aussies maybe have more than a couple. If Brady Kurtz can't get into the team then they must be good
  14. Been pointed out a few times joonas' situation. He has dual citizenship and was even last season riding "as a Swede",to help out with the regulations. But as Ghostwalker has stated Joonas was also Swedish U21 champ in days gone by
  15. Said for a few years that Harris should give up on the SGPs and turn to Longtrack.Think it would suit him down to the ground, rather than keep bashing his balls in speedway
  16. Wonder just how big this basketball match was.The average attendance for the top mens league, which is the top league in Poland is only about 2,000.This match in Bydgoszcz ,was though,a womens game!!So you wouldn't expect it to be too popular and i'd hazzard a guess you'd have to have about 50% or more of the basketball crowd deciding to miss the SGP for it to make much of a difference to the speedway, which hardly seems likely

  18. They have tended to "share" a good number of riders between the Teterow + Güstrow meeting, meaning a rider can get two big meetings in over the weekend.Guess that might not be the case this year with the U21 meeting on saturday, but might well be a possibility
  19. I shall be at 1,maybe both Güstrow meetings and possibly at the Teterow one as well.Might see you at a meeting then
  20. Piotr did actually ride for Stralsund in the Bundesliga a few years back. Both brothers did.Seem to recall there was some trouble at the Polish/German border and they were a bit late.Piotr got 8 pts from 6 rides that day,but beat Huckenbeck and Dudek
  21. I'd be surprised if one or two haven't tried
  22. Sounds like badly bruised as he hopes to be back riding on wednesday
  23. Sounds like it is not too bad.Won't be riding over the weekend, but hopes to be back on wednesday for his next meeting!!!!
