World U21 Team Semi Final, Teterow, 07/06/14
iris123 replied to Bagpuss's topic in International World of Speedway
Denmark as hosts are seeded into the final. Two semis with the winners of both going through and the best second placed. With this being a fairly strong semi i would expect the second best in Sweden to go throug, but that is just an opinion -

It is the BSPA's representative that picks the team,so they are responsible to that extent and if BSI are the promoters maybe they will want compensation if they or King's Lynn think the crowd has suffered because of choosing youngsters -
Is that for f-s-p's sauna or for the speedway?!!!!!!!

All well and good saying, pick youngsters for the future(and ideally i would go for that),but a Promoter is hosting the meeting and i guess hoping to get a good crowd. If you go with youngsters that are there for the experience how will that affect the crowd? And will the BSPA compensate the promoter for his losses?I say that as someone who has spent out€60 for next weeks Germany v Poland football match and today the squad was announced and i hardly recognise anyone.Basically a 'B' team for 'A' team prices and i don't really care much for the development of German footballers, although that wouldn't be the case for the SWC team -
World U21 Team Semi Final, Teterow, 07/06/14

Think it will be a pretty tough meeting. At least we have someone who has good experience of german tracks and Ellis didn't do too badly last weekend, which should help him.The other two might struggle a bit as the competition will be fierce. The Czechs have at least a couple of riders who look very promising and Germany have a couple as well and the Aussies maybe have more than a couple. If Brady Kurtz can't get into the team then they must be good -

Been pointed out a few times joonas' situation. He has dual citizenship and was even last season riding "as a Swede",to help out with the regulations. But as Ghostwalker has stated Joonas was also Swedish U21 champ in days gone by -

Said for a few years that Harris should give up on the SGPs and turn to Longtrack.Think it would suit him down to the ground, rather than keep bashing his balls in speedway -
Wonder just how big this basketball match was.The average attendance for the top mens league, which is the top league in Poland is only about 2,000.This match in Bydgoszcz ,was though,a womens game!!So you wouldn't expect it to be too popular and i'd hazzard a guess you'd have to have about 50% or more of the basketball crowd deciding to miss the SGP for it to make much of a difference to the speedway, which hardly seems likely

Teterow / Gustraw
iris123 replied to whowasthatberntpersson's topic in International World of Speedway
They have tended to "share" a good number of riders between the Teterow + Güstrow meeting, meaning a rider can get two big meetings in over the weekend.Guess that might not be the case this year with the U21 meeting on saturday, but might well be a possibility -

I shall be at 1,maybe both Güstrow meetings and possibly at the Teterow one as well.Might see you at a meeting then -
Piotr did actually ride for Stralsund in the Bundesliga a few years back. Both brothers did.Seem to recall there was some trouble at the Polish/German border and they were a bit late.Piotr got 8 pts from 6 rides that day,but beat Huckenbeck and Dudek
-
I'd be surprised if one or two haven't tried
-
Sounds like it is not too bad.Won't be riding over the weekend, but hopes to be back on wednesday for his next meeting!!!!

Just things i spotted whilst surfing....live updates,Kenni was doing well,Hans ok.Klindt + Michelsen were two of the riders involved in the run-off and it seems Mikkel got knocked out as he was complaining about the rules. But i haven't gone looking for anything.Just stuff that crossed my path
-
Mikkel Bech won his round.Porsing was 3rd in his,Mads 2nd in his.Maybe all the same round.....5 way run-off in Glumsö and Madsen finished second as well......

Surely if it is a mental illness that affects decision making for instance, and also seems to need drugs to help then it sounds pretty dangerous for someone to participate in a motor sport. And i thought i have read once or twice of people taking not only their own life, but the life of others. That sounds fairly dangerous
-
Should he be allowed to ride when he is suffering from something like this,i wonder?
-
That is if the email reaches them in time No Dutch guy in ????(again)

Give them their due, there was an open offer(at least from Brokstedt) for suggestions on changes to the Bundesliga.I put forward the idea to get rid of the helmet colour for gates and start using the normal rule of red/blue for home team and white/yellow for the away team. They did take that up,which helped me out at least because i was always getting confused with the previous system.I also suggested some years back the reserves rode against each other,as they were at the time usually well outclassed. This was also introduced, but dropped after a year or so So they are open to suggestions from the fans and maybe we don't always get it right either. The Bundesliga as a competition is a bit of a mickey mouse thing, but if it provides good speedway it doesn't matter that much.Yesterday there was over 3,000 at Brokstedt which compares good with the Bromberg GP.As it is they are lucky there are 3 teams that are in,as after last years fiasco at the Brokstedt v Landshut meeting,Brokstedt were seriously considering not entering this year i think

Be interesting to see how Adam Ellis and for me,particularly how Kai Huckenbeck go in Stralsund.Wish i could be there as it looks a super line-up.Also have my eye on the performance of Lunna in Leicester. One of the guys i saw on 80cc along with Wozniak as well as the Danes + Swedes of course

Caught Brokstedt out today,as they didn't have a heat 0 in the programme!!!!
