Patryk Dudek Tests Positive For Banned Substance
iris123 replied to lastword's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Personally i would let him off in the best interests of the sport anyway. He is exciting and rides in green. Now if he was a boring rider then i'd ban him. That's how it works with me -
2014 European Speedway Championships
iris123 replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in International World of Speedway
Well as a kid back in the 70s my dad knew i was interested in football and asked me if i wanted to go to see Wimbledon play in the FA Cup at Leeds.I jumped at the chance and it was a great match for the amateur club. But on the train back to London i was shocked at how many fans had needed medical treatment, young, old and even a female or two.Since then i have had no time for the club.Of course it was the heyday of hooliganism, but to attack innocent fans from an amateur club was beyond the pale -

Not sure why you are so touchy.Just don't agree with you and your "our prayers" bit.......Have nothing against R&R who is a nice guy unlike some but supporting a rival team,no way would i give them any good luck. That is life.No need to be a drama queen because i made a comment. No big deal as i am sure R&R would agree Don't see why some feel the need to speak for the forum when they don't.Speak for yourself which is what we are all doing.No-one else speaks for me thanks -

Wouldn't proper cheating also be something like a rider paying another rider to finish behind him in a vital race in a world final? Think that has happened on a number of occasions
-
Wasn't Leon Madsen suspected of cheating a few years back and the accusation seems to have affected his nominations in the Danish team etc as i can't really remember him getting anything from Stekkers of Secher since the problem arose..... We also had Stekkers accusing the Poles of cheating at one SWC and Olsen also getting involved. But no official protest was made And when Emil burst onto the GP scene there were comments about cheating made by the Sky guys.Again nothing concrete, just rumours.Although i did get a comment that Emil was cheating from one rider. We also i am sure had an article in a paper by Mads accusing riders of cheating, but no names or anything concrete there either as far as i remember Accusations about Smolinski arose this year of course

Apparently Smolinski isn't being allowed to ride by the FIM -
To be honest as a meeting in itself the Brokstedt v Wolfslake meeting was a good one.But the line up for Landshut(at Brokstedt) didn't inspire me to go the meeting, even though i would have got in for nothing!!!!Maybe the meeting turned out to be good, but the result was what i thought it would be.
-
In fairness i did see get well messages on the net to both Deddens and Matze,so maybe there was something in it. Big maybe...... I'd agree on the guests. The Bundesliga is bad enough with only 3 teams, but when you get a rider from one team turning out as a guest for one of the other two teams.....ach who gives a ##############

Genuine Question In Relation To King's Lynn Speedway
iris123 replied to SCORPIO's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
To me if you know about it and still go then you have yourself to blame.Said before it is up to the customer to find out the conditions before buying a ticket and entering the stadium. It seems Lynn actually did have signs up near where you buy tickets,so everything is in order. Like i mentioned on the other thread on the KL meeting,i too have been the 'victim' at Holsted where my water bottle was taken off me before i bought a ticket.Having ridden 2,5 hours to get to the track there was no way i wasn't going to buy a ticket to see the meeting. But i made a point of not buying anything in the stadium. Generally like someone mentioned about France,Germany and Denmark are sort of family picnic tracks, where people come with deckchairs and food/drink.The exception being the big tracks in the north east of Germany where they sell concessions and i guess part of the contract is that people aren't allowed to bring in their own stuff.I remember at Teterow they had skinhead type security that would search you and there were a lot of complaints about them on the old german forum.A journalist friend of mine also had a heated debate with one of the guys involved in running the Berlin Ice Speedway meeting because in his review of the meeting he criticised the policy of not allowing people to bring in food and drink(and also fold up chairs). The guys answer was that people aren't allowed to bring in their own stuff in concert halls etc.But my friend said this is speedway, not concerts..... Basically i make sure i am well fed and watered if i go to these tracks. You either like it or lump it imo as you should know or make it your business to find out if you are going to be annoyed by such things.-The other alternative is to boycott these meetings and maybe write an email to the promoter mentioning the reason why -

I'd agree it is bad form, but shouldn't be unexpected. It is though something i see a lot.Year after year for instance at the Ice Speedway in Berlin people complain that they aren't allowed to bring in their fold up stools and chairs even though it is well advertised they are not allowed.Of course they are allowed at every other speedway event during the season, but does that matter? My particular problem at Holsted was i had a new motorbike with no box to store anything.I could previously store a bottle of water in my other bike although no-one had ever searched me.And with a 6 hour round trip i sort of needed that water to get through and the plan was to buy food and drink in the stadium and the water was for my journey home. When i wasn't allowed to bring the water in then out of principle i didn't buy anything in the stadium and generally make sure i am fed and watered in advance. But with a car i can store stuff now anyway. But i hold my hand up and admit i assumed it was the same procedure as before and no searches of bags/rucksacks would be made.....To make matters worse i think this was the time a couple of friends of mine went in on press passes with their car and were walking around with their own drinks not bought at the stadium !!!!! -

Don't want to get into a big debate about it.I just took your previous statement "Yes they were checking everyones bags just before the ticket barrier and there were signs stating that no personal food or drink to be taken into the stadium where you purchased your tickets. " as knowing the conditions beforehand as the signs telling you about them were where people bought their tickets.fair enough imo.Basically if you are going to be worried about things you should ask.Probably before you travel or purchase tickets. If on the other hand you were told beforehand that you could take food and drink into the stadium then you have grounds for complaint.I have been allowed to take food/drink into Esbjerg and even previously into Holsted, but when they refused me at Holsted i had no grounds for complaint. It was annoying as i had a 3 hour journey back home, but i couldn't argue that they previously allowed me in or that another track allowed me in with water as things do change and i accept i hadn't asked if they had changed........ -
Speedway Champions League ?
iris123 replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
You are funny now that you are in the FIM camp.Change it if they want to or more likely change it if they have to.The whole idea is this is based around what are thought to be the top 4 leagues in the world. If one or two drop out then you don't have what they set out to form. You then have a dodgy comp that no-one is really interested like the one we have had for years anyway run by the UEM -

Surely these things are known about taking food and drink into sporting events and concerts?I have had a bottle of water taken off me in Denmark. You can't complain about such things. You expect them to want to sell their own stuff as someone might have even payed to be allowed to sell food and drink in the stadium.I understand the feeling of getting fleeced for a bottle of water or beer when you can pay much much less at Aldi. But it is like not being allowed to bring a camera into a concert and then everyone is taking pics on their mobiles anyway........annoying,but you know the conditions beforehand -
Speedway Champions League ?
iris123 replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
Quite easy to see.Like i said it doesn't state the 4 champions from Poland,Sweden,GB and Denmark,it states 4 teams from 4 different countries,so leaving the chance that Poland or Denmark drop out. Then we have a comp with GB,Czecho,Germany and Italy for instance and no-one would see that as a Champions League as we have a European Team comp with that sort of line-up at the mo which interests hardly anyone.... -

Agree.Nice to have a discussion without all the crap. But i still think to an extent the Danes for instance protect the kids in that as far as i remember their youngsters are the only ones allowed to have a grade D???Which gives them easier rides. Not that they really need it,as with so many kids riding one or two are almost certain of coming through whatever the system. That is where they win hand down.If we could attract as many kids into the sport then we would stand a good chance of more coming through our system whther it is good or bad. And no Lambert hasn't made it yet,but at this stage he looks as good a bet as any Swede or Dane or his age.But we can all point to great young riders like Zabik or Hlib or even the much touted(on here)Bridger..... -
Speedway Champions League ?
iris123 replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
Of course it is to most a pointless competition i'd think.Just like the Bundesliga with 3 teams competing to qualify for a two team play-off id pretty pointless in that sense. But it will succeed or fail on the amount of people who turn up on the day etc.If it manages to capture the imagination of enough fans then it will survive.I stick by my previous statement that i can't see it going longer than 3 years. Can't see fans in Poland or Sweden turning up in big numbers for this, but wait and see..... The statement this week seems to leave it open for one or more countries to drop out and maybe a team from germany or Italy etc to join in the future.Press conference at the end of the week...... -

Think too many are trying to find negatives.Enjoy the win as i very much doubt under Middlo we would have got it.Good step in the right direction for me.Not looking for anything great in the final. If it comes then it will be a wonderful result. As for the other countries.....Not sure why you mention Sweden as their production line of young talent is probably worse than ours!!!!I would say there is some protection of youngsters in Sweden and Denmark as there are limits/grades.It might not be as tough as this new system, but it still protects the youngsters.Good that Robert Lambert is talented enough to by-pass that and he looks to be as talented as any Swedish rider of the past few years As for the US.well did they really have any other option than to throw a youngster in? We don't have many options either at this moment in time, but this should give confidence in Rosco and the team. That is a step in the right direction imo and bodes well for the future -
Wot no Vojens???? Used to drink for years in Brixton and never had a problem. It is luck as in most places in big cities you might get 1 or 3 robberies a day.Been to Prague and the city is super and never had or saw a problem.Track is one of the worst on the GP calendar, but i am sure if you are there you will probably have a good time.Like the times i have been to Vojens i come home after enjoying it and read on here that it was another terrible GP
-
Don't suppose Horsens has a roof and is probably as dead as Vojens for nightlife and isn't that accesible for most fans. But then it is provavly the only alternative in Denmark......

That is true.We should be able to choose what images we see.I wouldn't want people posting images of bad crashes on here for example.Think it is also a bit worrying that now on Facebook people post videos and they play even if i haven't clicked on them.A link is sufficient and if i choose to click on it that is my decision
