  1. Ah I see you have changed the post You contradicted yourself by saying you hadn’t been banned on Facebook, when you previously stated you had Now you try to get out by stating you have never been banned by Facebook, when nobody suggested you had and weren’t discussing that. Must be your dodgy laptop again playing tricks. Do try to keep up with what you are posting old chap
  2. I may be banned from TWO FACEBOOK Wimbledon groups including one run by 'the esteemed' Terry Mussett but it doesn't matter. Well it must have been speedyguy or jack keen then
  3. Oh I think somebody mentioned a debate you had a few months ago. Plus I imagine it is hard to get banned from groups without some sort of debate ? Maybe it was your old computer’s fault ?
  4. Interesting comment John Hyam I take it this is the reason you are spending so much time here lately? A few heated debates on Facebook I can imagine
  5. Strange, you was only asking for an update a couple of days ago. Do you think something has happened in the meantime ?
  6. Same with very many Dons supporters. Maybe if John Hyam wasn't banned from one or two Dons groups he would know better
  7. Nice video Good to see Bertola, and a very interesting piece on him and the museum
  8. I don't see how anyone can mis-understand how i was grouping them together. But hey-ho, this is the BSF. I wasn't comparing their riding style or level. Just that they were better in days before i got to see them, and it came as a surprise when i found out. More a judgement on my lack of speedway knowledge at the time than anything else
  9. Yes. Honved were like many continental clubs a sporting club, mainly known for its famous football team. But i honestly have never seen much about Hungary or Honved speedway https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Budapest_Honvéd_FC I guess the track could have been around the football pitch. The old stadium was re done a couple of years back now
  10. Hope this is well known, as i was caught out once or twice going shopping without a debit card, thinking cash was king
  11. I don't have any particular Sandor story or even memory. I only saw him a coupleof times . But he is definitely one of those in the category that i was surprised later to learn that he was such an accomplished rider before i had seen him. No bad thing, as he is in good company with the likes of Hurri-Ken McKinlay Obviously a fascinating story of his time in Hungary, which having the Who's, who of world speedway has a fairly decent section on his career. The Honved Budapest club where he started out, still remaining something of a mystery to this day
  12. Yes, but be fair, not even John has been banned for that long
  13. Yes , that's it. Also took pics at Eastie i think. Couldn't remember his name
  14. Not that i ever went in that period, but i thought the photographer was someone called Young, the father of Jess Young who used to be a member here ? At least he is the guy who took pics of my cousin when he was riding at Plough Lane. Maybe there were a few togs though
  15. Actually quite a decent line up from Germany looking back with Facher, Lieschke, Speiser and Tobi Busch, and the GB side had some promising riders there as well Remember being impressed when Roynon came to Brokstedt with a GB U21 side i think it was. And then saw Tully representing Scotland in an U21 qualifier. Roynon obviously hampered by a lot of injuries, but Tully just disappered..
  16. Looks like he was very promising. Another i have never heard of
  17. Whist i think test matches aren't the crowd puller they used to be, i think there is a place in the calendar for an early touring side like Young Czecho or Germany U21 etc. Think Sönke Petersen and Kevin Wölbertt were part f the last young German team to do a tour
  18. I do remember Wally Mawdsley. Sure he was a promoter somewhere. name rings a bell
  19. IMO looking back at your posts, you have been predicting this for over 10 years and the sport still exists........
  20. Found a couple of Polish interviews with Manev, where he states there was a meeting in 2017 in Targovishte !! But he also mentions both tracks are in private hands and the owners a very wealthy and not really interested in speedway (sport). He hopes or hoped to start a training track....... but when he retires and he is now 42 or 43 it could well be the end
  21. When did speedway in Bugaria end ? I found this from Shumen in 2016, and it looks a decent crowd Plus Milan Manev was competing last season
  22. Pretty comprehensive Henry One not listed , and that maybe because nothing is happening is Bulgaria ? I thought maybe one or two riders appeared in Germany now and again. Along with Romanian . Usually at Meißen, who generally have an interesting line up. But honestly don’t know the current Bulgarian situation
  23. Yes. The new Wimbledon football stadium . Barry Briggs visited the stadium a few weeks back. Not sure if he visited the bar though
  24. I know how he works and quoted it double quick. He can't get away........
