  1. Are you seriously saying you have never seen a rider slow down to drop a point?
  2. You just don't get stuff like this on those new fangled Fb groups like, speedway friends with no sense of humour!!!
  3. Chelsea and Stamford Bridge maybe?Chelsea seem to be doing quite well and have announced the 5th year in a row making a profit and sit on top of the Premier League.......
  4. If after reading this thread he was confused as to who we are talking about he would be .......gustix
  5. If he was feeling a bit lairy after a night on the bevvy with his mates, then he would be Darcy Wardareyoulookingatpal
  6. You didn't need to tell us,it's written all over your face
  7. Does she have to be a feminist to have an opinion on rape or other problems in society? We have politicians and judges who make major decisions in our life who do worse things than appear in a magazine in their underwear. What century are we living in here????
  8. Is that official or are you a know all who is making it up?How do you know he has served his time when the hearing hasn't taken place?
  9. Not an expert on her career, but going by the pix on the previous link she is in her underwear!!! Nothing different to Naomi Campbell or Kate Moss.Even if she got her booh bees out it doesn't mean she can't have an opinion on suspected rape cases,or are we turning into an Islamic state?
  10. Sports doping has just been made a criminal offence in germany with a maximum 3 year jail sentence, but doctors and coaches who are involved could get up to 10 years. Will more countries follow?
  11. I can see the attraction for certain people in these groups. You can post things without being challenged.I might think Mark Burrows is one of the most talented riders ever and no-one is allowed to say anything to burst my bubble.Personally i find it healthier if when i post something other people are allowed an alternative view, that is why the BSF hasl always been my main port of call on things in the speedway world and places like Karl Fialas or John Hyams groups are for insecure people or in the second case a place where the tumbleweed blows through........
  12. You might be right Norbold. But maybe you've been in Clacton too long?It is one of those places that are full of just the people i was thinking of.I am sure "dicky bird" is said more often than the norm there !!!!
  13. Come off it Phil, that is you talking to yourself!!!! Only people of a certain age and from parts of the country say things like that now.You and Mike Patrick for instance.......
  14. Sure i saw some film on it at one London motorbike show in the 70s and it looked very dramatic. The guys were like gladiators in the back of a wagon that drove them out on the track to their bikes. But i guess in a film you can make things more dramatic and exciting than they are at the track. From later stuff on here it seemed to be more for the betting than anything else
  15. Then i will try to make sure i am there mate.About time we had a beer together I have been to Assen, but i'll leave any comments/advice to Conkers or Dutchgrasstrack as they have more knowledge and like the place more than i do
  16. I wasn't.Not even on the way
  17. What has happened or is happening with the mooted meeting in China?Thought reps from across the Russian border met with Castagna + co last season with the idea of hosting a meeting?
  18. Indeed.Still active on MotoX i think. But his political career is probably more important now than trying a new motorsport career i'd guess
  19. Grigori Laguta used to ride and used to be good,so there is one.Freddie Lindgrens father used to be good,so he is a possible, though i am not sure he ever tried it.Others would be just speculating, but world champ Daniil Ivanov is also a very good speedway rider,so we know it is possible to do both even in this day and age
  20. She'd be much better on Eurosport and her diddies would be bigger
  21. Well i am spared the pain with my situation, but yes i would Actually way back in the old days you could say i did pay to watch something similar.I got my parents to travel up to Hull for the Briggo farewell meeting in which Ove Fundin rode a few heats with Briggo,Ivan Mauger and Peter Collins. But i was young and there is no-one quite in the Fundin category i would travel to see now
  22. The trouble was GB tracks couldn't/wouldn't move with the times. You can't expect everything to stay how it was 30 years ago.30 years ago football was basically saturday afternoon at 15:00 + wednesday at half 8 or so....now it is almost everyday and at various times.Even before the advent of the GPs tracks were changing race nights or wanted to and weren't allowed in some cases.Wimbledon raced on mondays when i was born but changed to thursday and was it even wednesdays?I remember one track(i think White City) wanted to change their race night and weren't allowed because another promoter wouldn't let them.Quite often tracks weren't running on their chosen night, they were running on a night that they were allocated and as soon as another track closed down they changed their race night. Speedway was shooting itself in the foot and on the slide long before the GPs.And they wanted and still want pretty much every day of the week.Well the world has changed and the speedway power base has also.Speedway in GB has to change or the downslide will continue.Personally i think it will continue anyway, but changes have to be made to try and slow down the fall
  23. Ok for a second half filler, but i wouldn't pay to watch something like this
