  1. My guess is that is was around then that Chunky meant and not before
  2. Thank god for that.I thought Darcy was taking on the IMF.Then again Muddlo probably thinks speedway is run by the WWF,and I don't mean the wrassling folk
  3. Used to eat in the Tower Bridge Rd one a bit.But Harringtons was most frequented by my family. My mums family lived near the Selkirk and then made the big move to the other side of Garratt Lane A visit is usually a must when I am back 'home'
  4. Was planning on at least one meeting in either Berlin or Assen, but had to put back a trip to the mountains which meant no Assen yesterday. So missed my chance of a beer with you and also my chance of a beer with f-s-p this week as well due to German inefficiency and a Finn who comes to Germany to buy a van that only does 100kmh!!!!!
  5. Yeah, especially if one of the "reserves" win
  6. Would the Poole apologists be members of an onion ring?
  7. Simon was disqualified for crossing the inside line of the track by one of the worst referees in the game.Someone who is only allowed to ref div 2 speedway in his own country.Simon said it is hard to ride on the inside at Berlin as there is only about 5cm until the concrete and in Moscow riders were about a metre inside the line and not disqualified. This cost Austria the gold medal Have to say I saw a photo from Moscow and it was diabolical how far inside the blue line the riders were, but as Conkers will confer we have seen evidence that it can also happen at Berlin.Simon says though that he inspected the track and saw no marks made by his spikes inside the line....
  8. Berlin scandal http://www.speedweek.com/eisspeedwayteamwm/news/71357/Berlin-Skandal-Schiri-Wojaczek-schlug-wieder-zu.html
  9. No John. You asked R+R a question after his post helping you out.Not even you can keep up with your "now you see it,now you don't" stuff today
  10. You posted asking if it would change all your posts under the gustix name or was that Gustix?
  11. Strange!!! Another Hyam post gone awol........I am hoping that is the click that deletes his posts and his connection to the internet
  12. I am relaxed about these things.I don't mind discussing gustix, his aliases and how to change names on my Chiswick thread. That is the internet.I have no idea John as I have only had the 1 account from day one and have no thoughts of changing my name. But you could ask Haydon Bertie, who I think has changed his name on a number of occasions.Sorry I can't be of any more help
  13. Now I am confused.I thought we were talking about gustix and not Gustix.Could you please clarify?
  14. must admit to having the same thought.Mr Gustix having a few aliases over the years. At least that little mistery has been solved
  15. Great stuff.I thank you.160 yards I gather and a cycle speedway track that could only be used by 2 riders at a time Yes that is why I thought I would start a thread of my own which I wouldn't hide away every few minutes
  16. Anyone got anything to say about this rather obscure training track?Or the riders that rode for them or any results or other stuff.I am very open about this and won't be upset if you post stuff.....
  17. Quite surprised listening to that how boring Briggo sounds.Too laid back and doesn't really sell the sport that well. But fair play to the man,he got onto a top national radio programme
  18. I agree it all got a bit silly, but the thing was, both riders maintained their focus on winning.Although Erik regretted the rift,he did tell me he would do it all again. That is what makes a winner. It was also interesting hearin a speech Arnold Schwarznegger made over the weekend in Hamburg. He said to people not to listen to the 'nay-sayers'.People who tell you you can't do that....he was often told as an Austrian he had no chance breaking into the American elite of bodybuilding, but did.And was then told he had no chance as a bodybuilder with a strange accent breaking into Hollywood, but he did.On the other hand I think the opposite is maybe more of a problem. Those who tell you,you can do it and are so talented etc. When things come all so easily it is easy to take your eye off the ball.Lindbäck went off the rails under Muddlo and now Darcy seems to be going the same way.We might end up looking back at another great talent who wins nothing or nowhere near what his talent could achieve. It could well be that someone like Arthur Sissis, who also has talent, but has hit problems fairly early might end up achieving more.It took both Ivan and Hans a good while before they gained a title and they knew they had to work to get to the top, whereas Lee got there fairly easily and fell from grace, just as easily
  19. 'Amadeus Liszt' also made a few records https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBTuilMWX5g Rockin' Sidney also made a bit of music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHlhJL3IlsQ
  20. Wasn't Hans sidelined a bit by the Olsen/Gundersen team?Thinkin about the England -Denmark tests when Nielsen was only reserve in the Danish team.Seem to recall something Erik said about this that is was a bit unfair on Hans. This was why Hans got Ivan in his camp to try to balance thing up against Erik/Ole.......sure Rob will know more about it all though,if I have it wrong
  21. Is it being built by Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble?
  22. My goldfish told me you would be the one to make that statement
  23. DAventry VEnizuela MOnaco pueRTo rico ONtario .That's enough of this lark for me
  24. Of course. And the "season" was as long as they wanted really. After the opening meeting on Boxing day 1928,the first meeting of 1929 was at the start of January. It was boom time and the promoters were out to milk the cow for as much as they could get.Trouble was really they gave too much too soon and the bubble soon burst and crowds dropped. Then they came up with the novelty of team meetings to try and stop the rot
