  1. Absolutely rubbish argument and change of tack Dave.Of course it is the same thing or does it only go for speedway the argument if you can't do better don't criticise? And does that mean because one or two riders on here that comment couldn't do better they can only criticise riders who were worse than them?Crazy stuff.No-one can criticise Darcy Ward for attempting to ride under the influence or Antonio Lindbäck for serial drink driving because we haven't been under the pressure he has as an international speedway rider?Go back to the drawing board and think up a better argument, then come back and start the thread up again, because everyone had forgotten about Harris for a few weeks until you tried to stir things up again
  2. They must see you coming then Dave.Using your argument any time you buy something dodgy you just stick with it because you can't make a better pair of trousers or a better tv or tarmac your drive or plaster your ceiling better than Mr Cowboy Anyway, the thread had died away until you decided to put new life into it.No idea why
  3. Important to get the title of a thread right as gustix well knows. He could give advice as to how to change the title,as he has previously been given it.Gee jay can himself do a title edit without the aid of a Mod,who are probably too busy to go round checking every thread started.Guidlines also state the date of the meeting should also be included,i think
  4. There isn't an "anti-gustix brigade" John.It is just you continuously make imbecilic posts. If you posted in a normal fashion, people will treat you normally. But post like an imbecile and you end up getting treated like one.All quite simple and has been explained a number of times, but you seem to get worse with time
  5. Ah,the good old days.Saw a pic of the Nike Lunna fan club at Scunny with their Lunna wigs
  6. I was right Eastbourne,Wimbledon,Canterbury and Rye House. All the others were just guest appearances like you do
  7. Think Roger rode for Eastbourne, then signed for Wimbledon, who loaned him to Canterbury? If my memory isn't playing tricks
  8. So,no mention of the decline of speedway in Canada then?Hmmmmm
  9. I wish people wouldn't do that.I always fear the worst when the title isn't clear
  10. If Poole haven't got any then they will be moaning to get them banned, like Holder and Ward were complaining about Smolinski last season
  11. Despite the criticism it has to be admitted that when they get it right it is a fantastic product.Parken was great when I went.Super stadium, great atmosphere and the racing went along at a good pace with amazing presentation.I was lucky enough to only go to the first Gelsenkirchen GP and it was the same, especially when Hefenbrock came out and won his first heat. What happened the next year was the downside of the BSI story. When they get it wrong, boy do they get it wrong. You do need a decent stadium to get the presentation and atmosphere over though.Vojens just doesn't do it,although I do say being there is always better than watching it on tv.I have come home after enjoying the meeting to see all the criticism on here about it being boring.I personally think they are too pricey though and although it is fairly close,Vojens can be a nightmare to get to on a Saturday(and with major motorway work for the next decade towards Denmark it is only going to get worse in that direction)and can also be a nightmare to get out of the car park afterwards which puts me off going
  12. I think Darcy is thanking the FIM for banning him at the moment with all the accidents on the tracks. The way it is going he will be the only fit rider left come summer
  13. You know how this works......the locals get the blame BSI get the dosh and if by any chance it is a good GP then BSI take the credit, otherwise its the FInns,Latvians,Czechs(delete as applicable)fault Possibly the worst example seemed to be the love in with the NZ promoter until it became clear there would be no more NZ GPs then a hail of criticism came.......
  14. As a Millwall supporter it took me a few years to discover there was actually any football being played!!!!!
  15. On the line finish in the final.Huckenbeck lost the title by celebrating too soon!!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrZAy6iRlHo 01 Mathias Schultz (1,3,1,2) 7 02 Mark Riss (0,1,2,0) 3 03 Robert Lambert (GB) (2,1,0,1) 4 04 Timo Lahti (FIN) (3,0,0,1) 4 05 Michael Härtel (0,1,3,2) 6 06 Zdenek Holub (CZ) (2,2,3,3) 10 07 Kai Huckenbeck (3,3,2,3) 11 08 Kevin Wölbert (1,0,3,3) 7 09 Patrick Hougaard (DK) (0,1,2,3) 6 10 Christian Hefenbrock (3,2,3,2) 10 11 Stanislav Melnychuk (UKR) (1,ex,withdrew from meeting) 1 12 Roberto Haupt (2,2,2,1) 7 13 Denis Gizatullin (RUS) (3,2,1,1) 7 14 Tobias Kroner (1,2,1,1) 5 15 Rasmus Jensen (DK) (2,3,3,2) 10 16 Erik Riss (0,1,1,0) 2 17 Renè Deddens (2,0,2,0) 4 18 Martin S. Hansen (DK) (d,3,0,0) 3 19 Tobias Busch (3,3,0,3) 9 20 Damian Drozdz (PL) (1,0,1,2) 4 Semi 01: Huckenbeck, Hefenbrock, Busch, Schultz Semi 02: Holub, Jensen, Wölbert, Gizatullin Final Holub, Huckenbeck, Jensen, Hefenbrock Read that both Tobi Busch and Kevin Wölbert had brand new engines and were trying to get them set up.Kevin said the first two heats weren't right, but got the bike going for the last two.Tobi was using the meeting to get the bike set up for next week and altered things in the wrong direction for his third ride..... Att:2,500 ish results from speedway-forum.de
  16. You say that, but there was a track in Germany with a tree in the middle........of the centre green. Not there any more.Maybe Robert pulled it up on one of his visits
  17. Was good to read that Glasgow had a big crowd for the opener.Very positive, and good to see both sides could end up near the top of the league if not top.Always hope Kevin gets back to the form he showed when he first went over and if Erik gets going the side looks very strong.Still not sure who is the most talented of the Riss brothers though.Maybe you have signed the weaker of the two,but that augers well for the future if Mark joins his brother
  18. How did he compare to older home rider and GP wildcard Mikkel Bech?
  19. Who said that then. The same guy who always promises a better track next year at Prague?
  20. Far better than Ivan Mauger at that age.Ivan only got a 2.22 average in the old Southern League and in the top league only managed to get 1 meeting .Admitedly Ivan didn't have to ride the tricky Lakeside track though
  21. Don't they have track covers?Seems early call off.We have had pretty terrible weather and Wittstock called their meeting off days ago,but despite gale force wind, rain and even snow in the east of Germany which caused a 50km queue on one motorway they have training in Ludwigslust today and the meeting in Güstrow is still on as well.......
  22. And also it is young riders up in the big league now. That didn't happen years ago did it..........Ronnie Moore at 17 or Ivan Mauger at 17 or Mike Lee at 16 or or or......what about that no hoper Morten Risager? I remember a fairly young Phil Crump getting injured at the beginning of the 1973 season.Only had 1 or 2 meetings the whole season,i think Just going through the 1975 yearbook from A-D,english riders who rode in the top league at 16-17..not all in the same season obviously, but it was hardly a rarity even back in the 60s Terry Barclay Steve Bastable Terry Betts Nigel Boocock Les Collins Peter Collins Andy Cusworth John Davis
  23. Not even convinced riders didn't ride almost every night.Top riders in the 60s and 70s also rode most days of the week and on the continent at the weekend. They also didn't have super duper transporters to sleep in whilst someone else drove them around and the roads weren't as good as nowadays,so the journeys took longer. When you read about Ove Fundin or Barry Briggs and their week it was pretty much the same as Chris Holder or Tai Woffinden without the comfort. It is difficult to pin down if there are more crashes now,but less injuries or more injuries but less crashes or more of both or less of both, but my personal opinion is there isn't much difference. One year you might get more crashes but riders are lucky to get away without injury and another year have less crashes but more riders injured.Just the same as having bad looking falls but the rider jumps up and walks away or a relatively simple slide off that ends in a rider being paralysed....... At the end of the day I don't think there are any more injuries than in the 70s,so I must be right
  24. Zmarzlik replaces Kasprzak in Güstrow Line-up http://www.speedevent.de/mcg/index.php/2012-03-05-17-34-47/236-speedway-best-pairs-alle-teams-im-ueberblick
