  1. I think Phil has been too long in the hospitality lounge !!!!! Don't forget to re-hydrate before writing your report
  2. Double edged sword though.Guess this will be a very short practice, because how many times has the practice mucked up the track? If they have managed to get it into shape I just hope this won't put them back to square one again
  3. Think the answer is obvious. If it works it is a big success.Great stadium full with 50,000 fans and good speedway. On the other hand if it fails it is a big,big disaster. You have lots of people upset and angry.People like to take chances because the rewards can be good. But by now they shoud have learnt from the many failures. This time there can be no excuses
  4. Don't want to cause any trouble here, but i'd think the task of organising a Sunderland and a Crayford reunion are quite different given the number of years each track staged speedway.Kevin Teager I think lives in Germany now.He seems to ride a fair number of grasstrack events here.
  5. http://www.holsted-speedway.dk/nyheder/endnu+et+afbud_607/ Think I read Kildemand has been given a wildcard through, because of injury.
  6. After 12 Kenneth,Leon,Rasmus and Bjarne all 8.Hans now two wins and a last
  7. Facebook K.Bjerre and Rasmus have 6.Lasse,Leon and Bjarne 5
  8. Is that really Tai? Phil will talk to all the riders and i'm sure all will say it will be great or was great and 90% of the track is the best they have ever ridden and what a stadium and the press facilities have to be seen to be believed Ha ha,sorry I couldn't resist. It's in me nature, but I really do hope this goes ahead and is a decent GP
  9. To be honest it would be easy to mock.....all the talk of a brilliant stadium, but the track is poor.Oh no,we have heard that before. But really...........fingers crossed they get this sorted. It would be a big blow if they don't.At the end of the day instead of 5 or 10,000 people going home peeved,we could end up with 50,000!!!! and millions of viewers around the world.........
  10. Also a few post war.Very interesting for me to see these, with some great riders amongst them and some unknowns(to me) http://www.digitalnz.org/records?i%5Bsubject_text%5D=Speedway+motorcycle+racing&page=5
  11. That's all pretty clear. Thanks Will there be a meeting on once they have built their cycles?
  12. Chris still got a couple of hours to go before he reaches the stadium, but it ain't that bad as it is downhill all the way for him now
  13. As a little background on Ray Tauser and the American scene as a whole this article is very interesting. Not only about the riders themselves, but also the worries about speed making the sport less exciting and more dangerous.... http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/too-much-speed-speedway
  14. Thanks for that. Some very good info there
  15. http://www.speedevent.de/mcg/index.php/2012-03-05-17-34-47/239-an-alle-zuschauer-des-speedway-best-pairs-cup Actually the club wanted the meeting to go ahead,it seems it was called off without any discussion with them
  16. It seems the rule in speedway is you are only allowed to criticize if you can or did do a better job.Guess Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger are lucky they are not in the speedway game eh
  17. Seen a photo and it was a close call for a couple of spectators as the front wheel and forks narrowly missed them
  18. So was i.The one that that got me thinking was the "Henri" in the other ad,which seems a French name. Buffalo Velodrome in Paris was a cycling stadium that was used for speedway in the 30s,so could be a good guess?
  19. Mucked it up a bit and posted the thread twice, but just edited on the other thread that having looked up "Wolber" it seems they were/are a French company involved in cycle racing and held a GP Wolber(for the very best cyclists in the world) up until 1931 funnily enough. So that could point to this being France.Possibly Paris. And maybe one of the alternative world championships even??? Guess on my part though
  20. Not seen this before.Anyone know where and/or who is racing here?Looks a great stadium.Probably foreign.I thought maybe Paris or Germany by the ads...... http://www.dvarchive.com/stock-footage/999-2508/motorcycleracingin Seems Wolber were(maybe still are)a French company involved in cycle racing,so could be France....Paris
