  1. You forgot the bit about a jolly to Geneva where at the end they will all pat each other on the back and promise that lessons have been learnt............
  2. That Müller always seemed to be topless when interviewed.............
  3. A list is useless anyway without knowing if a track has the finances and will to host a GP.Norden is possibly the only one in Germany, but it is as we all know well off the beaten track and was near to financial ruin some years ago and is slowly climbing out of its problems and I doubt is thinking of anything so risky as a GP.Parchim made a big mistake in hosting a Longtrack GP which almost caused their collapse and are also slowly coming back from that period of hosting a LTGP and a Bundesliga winning speedway team.....
  4. Germany will use Kevin Wölbert,Tobi Kroner and Rene Deddens.Smoli and Tobi Busch are riding on the same day in Landshut and Huckenbeck is out injured from those that rode in the Güstrow meeting
  5. The trouble is,if they find Olsen guilty as charged who do they get in to replace him?Has anyone else much or any experience of building temp speedway track in the time given? And I don't mean dodgy indoor tracks like Neustadt/Dosse or Brighton........
  6. I think it would only be described as mickey mouse if for instance Denmark couldn't use Nicki for some reason and brought in Andreas Jonsson or Greg Hancock, otherwise test meetings are much missed on the calendar.By me anyway.I was thinking of going to Denmark last weekend for the U21/U19 tests between Denmark-Sweden and Poland. And there were mutterings on the net about why Germany can't get some tests like this for the youngsters. The question of course is like always, who is going to finance them? But on the other hand you can look at it as investing in the future, rather than gaining financially at this moment in time. You see those countries who put these tests on at different levels happen to be those that are producing talent.Well leave Sweden out of that.........
  7. Oh dear, that Jacques/mdmc person is on here talking to herself again, playing good cop,bad cop!!!!
  8. I often choose the wrong word(s) myself,so no problem. Think it is important if someone is shocked about this,to point out there are many many important events that are professionally staged without hiccup with the aid of volunteers. That isn't an issue here.Like you say,the problem is the "professionals"
  9. It hasn't "descended" into anything. It is important to point out that it doesn't matter to the quality of the product if some people aren't paid. What is important is those organising everyone and everything do their job properly. The problems all lie at the top,not the bottom of the ladder here
  10. So are a lot of the staff at Windsow Castle etc at least some of the time,so it has been stated on the news
  11. Sort of puts into question the whole interview and his opinion just with those few words
  12. I was there and saw him riding for GB in Teterow........
  13. It hasn't been given much of an airing Phil, but I have aired it about 3 times at least on this thread, though up until now you are the only other person to bring it up.Well done. But like I mentioned right at the early stage...........lessons just haven't been learnt!!!!! And of course I mentioned that the one or at least one of the riders who didn't bother with the training actually won the meeting,if it has to be called that
  14. The more he say's the worse he makes it all sound.............professional it isn't.They book a stadium with a large capacity, blow their own horn about it and then get caught out because the fans make noise!!!! Guess they were all expecting them to sit still as if the were in the Opera. And like I said before worse than this laughable situation with the noise, get caught with their pants down when things go ** up as if it has never happened to them before......amateur hour or 3
  15. 38 years ago today Josef died in Italy trying to qualify for the World Championship http://www.speedweek.com/speedway-racing/news/55339/Josef-Angermueller-starb-heute-vor-38-Jahren.html
  16. Let's face it there have been plenty of meetings(and lower standard at that) held in far worse conditions than Warsaw.I remember a couple of league meetings from Belle Vue a few years ago when even the home riders couldn't cope or control their bikes in the bends.Gjedde and Hougaard I think were a couple. When they went into the corners it seemed pure luck where they would end up.I gave up watching Elite League at that stage...........
  17. All well and good Arthur, the problems with football pitches are well know. Can't really compare it with a temporary speedway track though as the idea is a pitch is alive and it is hoped, stays that way for a long time and is open to the elements unless there is a roof.A speedway track is we hope stored in a controlled environment and therefore should have the required moisture content on arrival which means it shouldn't be over moist, but should require moisture as the track is layed.Obviously if it is too moist on arrival then you are ucked, unless you also have the required equipment to take the moisture out of the material. Is it really rocket science to keep some shale dry?I've seen warehouse full with coffee beans drying out.Surely when the shale is stored it should also be dried, ready for the next meeting.....
  18. Let's face it,what you aren't going to get is a quote from a rider saying "i thought the track wasn't as bad as some we have ridden on.I wanted to continue, but the others were adamant,so I respected their opinions".Batch has already pretty well given us his good reason and it would go for Jonsson in particular as well.If the meeting carried on they would only fall further behind with points. Not really sure why if Jonsson had already pulled out of the meeting,he was asked and included in the riders who voted for it to be called off? And you ain't going to get a quote from Jim Lawrence saying "I made a right cock up in a couple of those early heats....." Phil hasn't expanded on just what the media have falsely reported........maybe it was the fact that the stadium was handed over on the 12th,but work didn't start until two days later.Maybe this wasn't the case, but as Olsen seems to be in the firing line and Phil mentioned there were promises that lessons had been learnt from previous mistakes,i guess this isn't false.I wonder what is....... The other thing that really gets me peeved in all this is the lack of planning for such an outcome.BSI have by now enough experience in cock ups. They should know how to react and have a plan, especially as by Friday it was looking dodgy. But no,they don't have a plan and the fans are left in the dark.Bad enough on the night, but unacceptable days afterwards when people still don't know if and when they are getting a refund or will they have to accept a ticket for next years GP!!!!! All BSI can say is they have a good record and will continue doing what they do as long as fans want them to.......
  19. While I agree with the sentiments in the rest of your post,i just wonder if the parade was planned before to honour Gollobs career?Once the meeting was called off the organisers still wanted to honour Gollob. It was the only and last chance,so they went ahead with the parade and presentation as planned at the end of the meeting.I agree it didn't feel right, but I guess the alternative was to give Gollob anther wildcard for the next Polish GP and that might not have been possible? In the end it wasn't really a fitting end to his GP career though
  20. In Copenhagen, but this meeting was never ever scheduled to be in Copenhagen,at any time, never
  21. Ok,say he gets more time.Does that matter?Like I said when he takes on other jobs he knows beforehand how much time he will get and he knows beforehand it isn't the same as at parken. So,who is to blame?I'll tell you who.The man who takes on a job where he knows he won't be able to do as good a job as he does at parken
  22. It doesn't matter if it is down to time or humidity. When he takes the job on he knows how much time he is going to get and he also knows he has no control over the weather. It isn't good enough with 55,000 punters paying up front to just take a suck it and see attitude.Hope for the best.Hw about the fans saying i'll pay a tenner up front and if the track/meeting turns out ok i'll send the rest in the post Anyway,as has been said plenty of times I think the track was just the icing on the cake. The poor ref and the faulty start gate(which was also supplied by Olsen.......too cold, has been suggested there)the main cause i'd suggest
