Longtrack Grand Prix 2015
iris123 replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Grasstrack, Sidecar, Short Track and Cycle Speedway
Quite.Smolinski would probably be world champ by now if he hadn't have qualified for the speedway GP series and I have often said Chris Harris should take up LT if he wants to be a world champ.Wasting hi time finishing 14th or so in the speedway series.Guess it shows the level of professionalism in LT when part timers can take the sport up and within a few meetings are top of the world -

I can only make an opinion from all the info I have Sid and so far that is the conclusion of all the info I have seen.Even thugh I am a fan of Antonio I have stated I don't think he should ever be allowed to drive a car again. And if he had of been found over the limit at a speedway track on 3 occasions I would say he should never be allowed to ride in a meeting again.Doesn't matter if I am a fan or not. There is a limit you don't cross -

Ebony + Ivory,Sid.Antonio comes across as a decent bloke with some demons in the cupboard.I'd guess it hasn't been easy given his background. No wonder he has problems, but for me he does at least come out and admit to them.Darcy on the otherhand comes across as a complete pillock who denies everything.I like Antonio, but I have stated quite clearly he doesn't deserve a spot unless he really really has his life sorted out.It would be a backward step and I would be worried he is often used for the marketing side of things because of his skin colour to his detriment. -

I too would much rather see him in the series than any other Swedish possibility............as long as he really has sorted himself out!!!! It is easy to say he is on the straight and narrow, just as it is easy to say "i'm not on drugs I just work harder than the rest....." We have heard it a thousand times.I thought he couldn't take the pressure at the top,but it seems he has an illness.Whatever it is,maybe full time back in the series will be too much for him?I hope not,but I also hope he never has a bad accident whilst under the influence of alcohol......... -

I thought it warmed up to be a really good meeting and thought the crowd was very good considering the weather.Doubt I would have ventured along if I lived in the area,so well done to the crowd, riders and track staff for putting on one of the best meetings of the year -

Give Kasprcrap a couple of grand to p off........ -
Even so,it seems the stadium can only be used for 12 events a year!Surely rules out speedway in the future, unless you can combine a speedway/greyhound day.And even then what about the stock car days...........n the other hand it seems the ore they fight the deeper they dig a hole for themselves as it appears they could have ended all the trouble by buying the house off the pair. Not right though......

Wimbledon Stadium: Some Important News

The greyhound woman comes over as very bigoted against football, which isn't going to help her campaign I feel.If she was more reasonable with her points it might come over better to the general public -

Denmark won the first meeting 46-44.So there was a chance to see some speedway over the weekend, even if tomorrow is cancelled -

Think he is still doing the Wall of Death, and is probably still better than any other Dutch speedway rider even at his age -

Just out of interest, what is the percentage of meetings since Kent opened, that have not been completed due to the curfew?

Not sure as I haven't heard of him,but maybe his name was mis-spelt and is Freudenthaler???? Have seen a few with this surname coming up linked with St.Johann speedway in Austria

I remember riders couldn't make meetings too far away as they had too much work to do on the farm.......... -
Somerset And The Confederate Flag

Love it when this happens Think you should try reading the thread before going off on one, although you are in good company. Not sure how many times it has been stated that it is in America where the flag has its controversial meaning. In the UK it isn't really an emblem of controversy, but it is also not an emblem that has any real local meaning either -

Sounds a rather stupid idea.Who will be fooled by averages when, once you attend a meeting and see the riders who are averaging 7 or 8 are way way behind the top riders........You kick out the slightly better guys and you just widen the gap between top and bottom, and believe me I have seen this happen in Denmark and Germany and it doesn't make for interesting racing. And at least for me,i am more interested in the racing than the averages -
Great help that

For once John I am in total agreement with you.Seems a pity that you get offered something a bit different from the normal teams/riders you can see every week and it doesn't attract a bigger crowd.Ok at King's Lynn it was said there was little or no promotion of the young Danes.......
