World U21 Team Final Saturday October 31st

Härtel v Howarth here and I would say Howarth comes twice very close under Härtel and even seems to flip out a bit on the second occasion. The ref is looking from much the same position as the video guy stands under the ref box,so would see it much like the video. You decide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2CgzVoOI5k -

To make matters worse all the german team come from the south and can't have ridden that much at Güstrow. It also shows a regional problem in Germany because the Güstrow area has over the years always produced decent youngsters,so to have a representative teams without anyone from north east Germany is quite worrying for the area -

I take it that your theory ignores any success in Team or Pairs events at world or junior world level and probably doesn't even consider individual junior world level ? -
Exactly....like you said "next birthday".That is next year and as you say he is getting a manager.Seems all quite normal to me.Just growing up and slowly getting his independence. He even goes abroad on his own sometimes, like 17 year olds. His girlfriends is also from a german speedway family I think and right or wrong(I don't particularly agree with the practice)but in Germany the pits are often crawling with friends and family,so it is something he has picked up along the way.Might seem strange in GB though for sure
-
Like I said before it seems only right that as a teenager your dad/mum are looking after you,but as you near your 20s you become more independent.Personally don't think there is anything wrong at this stage, but Robert will probably get a professional mechanic and he will have his driving licence and want to make his own way.Not always for the best as some people here keep pointing out about Emil

World U21 Team Final Saturday October 31st

lots of heats from the meeting on youtube, just search for "Andreas Abels".Looked at a couple of random heats and no passing at all....... This was very close to going right inside the white line!!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhG18UbeNd4 See on the german forum a bit of a rubbishstorm because Robert Barth went on the track after the first heat and mishandled the Finn.Had him round the neck and had his fist ready to give him a whack......also saw that GB had a protest about Grobauer not going straight to the parc ferme with his bike after his last heat, but then withdrew it..... -

Floodlight have packed up somewhat Back on again.... Finland still on 1 pt after 8.Denmark on 22 -
I did see Phil at GPs,but he seemed to let Jason and his team get on with things. There hasn't been that many mums in the pits though from memory Robert is still very young though and it is his talent that has shot him into the limelight at an age when I guess a lot of riders still have their dads with them.Mike Lee was probably still with his dad at this age wasn't he?Ronnie Moore still did, although he came from the other side of the world,so maybe more understandable

Once you take a break from the sport it seems very hard to ever get the momentum going again
-
I did go a couple of times, but never saw the Godwinson brothers
-
I remember a few years back there was a tie for first place in an open meeting. Both riders made an agreement in the pits about the run-off,went out and rode side by side doing wheelies for 4 laps.Half the crowd thought it was the best thing they had ever seen and the other half thought it a scandal. The arguments went on afterwards on the german forum.........

Don't like jellied eels and neither do I like whelks. On my brief trip to London last week I did go past Manzies on Tower Bridge Rd twice. It was closed at that hour, but was given a mention in my girlfriends german tourist guide to London. We don't have a pie n mash shop in Hamburg, but we do have a Cornish pastie shop that also now sells clotted cream.Like London,we don't have a speedway team either. What we do have is our very own regional speciality that doesn't travel well........ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labskaus Might be the start of a book......

Got to say though having just got back from a trip to London that the amount of eateries in London has exploded over the past decade and there is something for every pocket on practically every corner.Amazing how they can all survive, but you won't starve in London. My partner even asked if people still cook/eat at home.......

'Childish' is the word used by the German commentators as well............
-
They(Egon and Norbert)stated on German Eurosport that Gollob is refusing to take part in meetings where Nicki P is riding!!!!!! Is there really any truth in that?
-
To be honest,i think I was there the last time kelvin rode on the track. He was pretty much retired from speedway and was there only to do the Bergring, but someone pulled out and Kelvin agreed to ride in the speedway meeting as a late replacement. The track even then was a gaters paradise and its reputation has declined since.Last years U21 World team comp had bad problems with the track and I think one team at least asked for an inspection half way through. In another german meeting the senior riders refused to go out and the meeting ended up a farce with only the juniors doing their heats.......

Danish Gp In Horsens 08.08
iris123 replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Personally the gate bias was absolutely unacceptable. As for the rest I feel that was as good as it is going to get.The weather was perfect and still the racing wasn't good.Ok it got better, but I was left with the feeling they got away with it last night but the track is too tight for passing and it is an accident waiting to happen -
Even your picture of Norden is out of date isn't it?Think they now have nice plastic seating bought cheaply from Werder Bremen or some other club?So the difference is even bigger
-
Guess you mean Michi Härtel?Helfer has already had a spell at Edinburgh and has been out for a while injured if I am correct

Bit of a pity it seems my stream totally missed Doyle cocking up his semi and the interviews were only coherent right at the end.GP warmed up as it went along, but the track really isn't good for speedway despite what Tatum was saying about it being a good stadium for motorsport!!!! Which heats did Harris use the Gerhard then? -
Not particularly. At EL level at least there are heat leaders who don't want to do all the meetings. At PL level you might be able to attract heat leader level riders who also don't want to spend half their season in the UK.They would though be foreign riders.
