  1. I don't know.He was giving the season a miss, had a go in Sweden and done well in berlin.Beating the other Dutch guys,so guess deserves it.Was looking back and Conkers was raving about de Jong and we also had Schukken, but both have disappeared? Saw the comments about Luca being either insecure or very arrogant.......looking like he hates everyone.Hope he doesn't turn out like his father. But yes,i do agree it is a little crazy giving him the spot in Assen
  2. Sounds fair enough. He is experienced enough and not known for moaning without a reason.I'll have a chat with him in Assen
  3. Ok.Want to expand on this? Most fans seem happy at the organisation, but to be honest I am not keen on the press guy,so am happy to stay away
  4. Not following Conkers,so haven't seen the comments. What meetings is he talking about?
  5. Another thing that popped into my head today......wasn't it about 2 years ago some guys(Dirk Fricke maybe)announced there was going to be a new track in Switzerland and possibly even a series of meetings.......what ever happened there? Stellingwerf gets the Assen wc.Seems about right.None of the other Dutch riders look good enough
  6. Report on Berlin and nothing about this new adopted 'german' Zorn 6,500-7,000 for the weekends racing.Only counted 4 Russians riding though....... http://www.rostock-sport.de/?qs=1457282400 Seem a bit slow in announcing the wc for Assen. And also no line-up as of yet for Fridays meeting!!!!
  7. And I think I am right that you are hoping t host Jääspeedway? Is it cold enough round your way to prepare a track in a normal winter?
  8. Then you write Gluehwein Just had a look at Sanomat.Do you only have ä+ö in Finland?
  9. Almost....Glühwein Saw the youtube vid of todays final and it looked a start to finish 1-2-3-4,but Ivanov did make a try to get through, though never really looked like making it.But reports are it was a good meeting.Still all finals have seen 4 Russians in....... Just watched some crazy Finns doing downhill cross on ice skates in -25°!!!!! Now some crazy Finns in Hirvensalmi racing stock cars on ice....
  10. Seems so.Everyone was riding again today.Berlin was a big disaster for the Germans, but as someone said, not quite as bad as 1945 And all I can say to that second bit is.....
  11. Quite a nice piece from yesterdays meeting in Berlin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sXk_xZ2KOo
  12. Of course it won't collapse. They will keep it going just to spite us and probably pump money into the German Bundesliga and entice most of the best riders into their league which they will out of spite run on the same nights as the EL,just out of spite Or it might just be business as normal with a few adjustments being needed
  13. Interesting report from the Euro Championships in Ufa.Although I can't understand much Russian it is great to see some of the crowd and have a look in the pits https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP7vu0K4IcU
  14. Doesn't seem like Robert is there. From his FB it looks like he is busy doing fitness training and taking orders for his gear when he comes to Germany in a few weeks time
  15. The Danish round will nw be held at Slangerup instead of Munkebo
  16. Just wondering how the number of Polish riders this season compares with say 10-15 years ago.To me there seems to have been a big drop in the number of riders, but could probably be wrong
  17. Seems sad that speedway can't even run a fairly simple league of 3 teams without running into trouble.Maybe I am missing something, but I can't see the controversy in the decision, although those running the league were obviously caught out by not having a rule in place for this
  18. These days you just have to search youtube or such and you will normally find something...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l0qaTI1ihI
  19. Short video from Berlin.Think more is to come.Probably as usual on sunday night http://mediathek.rbb-online.de/tv/Abendschau/Die-hohe-Kunst-des-Schlitterns/rbb-Fernsehen/Video?documentId=33878942&topRessort=tv&bcastId=3822076 http://mediathek.rbb-online.de/tv/zibb/Motorsport-auf-dem-Eis/rbb-Fernsehen/Video?documentId=33879190&topRessort=tv&bcastId=3822084
  20. On the German forum it states that Seifter is out injured for Berlin. His place is taken by Niedermaier and Max's wildcard goes to Hans Weber....not sure if that is confirmed
  21. Not sure it really matters. Also you just have to look at the state boxing is in.Back in the 70s there were just 2 or 3 world federations, now anyone with a bit of money seems to be able to set up a federation and hold world title fights. Is there really anything to stop someone doing the same with another world or European speedway title ?But in any case it is all ok'ed by the FIM and so money should be going back into the speedway pot
  22. Does the Spengler Cup qualify?Does seem a number of leagues take a bit of a break for that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spengler_Cup In any case,it doesn't really matter....all this do any other sports etc.Speedway is fairly unique in a lot of ways with most riders riding in a number of different leagues
  23. No,but someone has got more money than sense.............3 Germans in a team facing those others
  24. It is here, mostly in German.I guess they have got it from the FIM track regs, which I tried to look at but couldn't because I can't seem to open the blooming pdf's!!! http://www.speedway-forum.de/index.php/Thread/13267-FIM-Standards-for-Track-Racing-Circuits-2016/?postID=231194#post231194 What I do know is that some German officials were at a couple of meetings in the past week.I think one in Switzerland and 1 in Hamburg and all this came out after that.Think one convo was on facebook from someone saying they are just back from Hamburg and there are to be changes to all tracks etc and how can they afford it,but couldn't find that today .But there has been one or two discussions about the FIM standards at the Ice Speedway, which must also come under these regs,
