  1. I think the posts from Halifaxtiger and Tsunami shw that there can be opposite, well thought out(ok i am giving Tsunami the benefit of the doubt ) opinions and that shows Promoters should look in.They obviously can't and shouldn't implement all the ideas, but they should take them on board.Never a good idea to ignore your customers in any business.
  2. Drugged up riders punching each others light out,is what the sport lacks nowadays.Or a battle between the druggies and the drunkards
  3. I hope you are not suggesting this is "guff"!!!!!
  4. I am so happy he has got to the bottom of the problem after 6 years.I now look forward to him getting back to the "blistering form" he was in before
  5. Maassen and Karger must be dead certs #unfinishedbusiness
  6. Just something that crossed my mind while at work.Who was the last active league rider that was born in the 19th Century?
  7. And of course there are enough examples in the english language where a letter is silent, like the g in Togliatti. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_letter
  8. Because the city was named after an Italian,Palmiro Togliatti https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palmiro_Togliatti There are always variations when translating Russian to English,German,Swedish etc.Seems only reasonable to translate the name back to the original, even if others translate it to alternatives
  9. I know Stephan Katt and Matten Kröger use or used to use an old warehouse(concrete floor though) to train in during the winter.Must be a possibility
  10. It is worrying for the Swedes and as i have said for a few years, the Danes that the youth system doesn't seem to be producing many if any decent juniors. The collapse of the number of youngsters even entering the Danish system must be a big worry.Of course it is possible that someone outside the U21 team might end up being a better rider than those favoured at the moment.Kildemand springs to mind as someone who wasn't so often picked as the likes of Klindt and Hougaard, but ended up a better international rider
  11. In the SGP section of this forum, where you would expect
  12. A post from Robert Lambert on FB with an accompanying video showing how much athletes from various countries recieve for a gold medal with the punch line being GB athletes get zilch....... Then we have the news that half the field in the GPs are saying unless the money is upped they won't sign on for next seasons GP series.......all about the money, money, money
  13. Of course if half of those say they won't sign on for next season,it only means anything if it is the half that have qualified or have a chance of qualifying.Plus would that really include the Monster sponsored riders?Would they risk losing their sponsorship and is it really any good money from Monster? You'd have to guess it is worth it the amount of times the monster bottle is stuck into the camera. But in all honesty is it a big deal if Kildemand or Jepsen Jensen or any of the other "also rans" decide not to ride and are replaced by someone else? After the first 4 or 5 they are all making up the numbers anyway and could quite easily be replaced imo
  14. Riders come out with a load of tripe sometimes and very rarely stick together anyway.Thought they were going to refuse to use the new silencers and fans were going to stop going to speedway if they were introduced.Maybe they did for the bydgoszcz GP,but apart from that what has happened? And as for Pepe not signing u for the GPs,well as i said on the other thread he just isn't good enough and knows he would only be racing for the odd point. Was no big loss.So i doubt much will come of this
  15. So you agree Pepe is just not good enough for world championship. He is ok as a league rider,we know that is his level.Your level is kindergarten for speedway.Keep on learning and you might one day be able to play with the adults hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
  16. He could ride for almost anyone in the GPs.That isn't down to nationality.Just like Simon Wigg rode for the Netherlands without being Dutch and Laguta rode for Latvia whilt still being Russian. It is different in team events though
  17. You being such an expert can tell me where i go wrong here His fantastic record in the GPs looks like this 1997-13th place 1998-21st 2001-20th 2002-24th 2003-11th 2004-15th 2006-16th He was not good enough.A rabbit caught in the headlights of SGP.Or maybe he was caught in BSI's myszy pułapka!!!!
  18. Stage fright, like a rabbit caught in the headlights when he was in the GPs.No bottle
  19. How many people go to make this everyone then?10,20,30?
  20. No and No.As Phil has told us year after year,Cardiff has a special place in the calendar. Two GPs and the worry is people will pick and choose and they cannot afford that to happen.
  21. I do feel that Hancock has risen to the top because the better riders have either retired or are n their way out and the generation(s) after him just aren't in the league of the previous riders.Rickardsson,Crump and even Adams dropping out of the sport and then the demise of Gollob and Pedersen on top of the failure of the next lot to take over. The likes of Jonsson,Hampel,Andersen,Iversen left it to the younger riders and Holder failed to maintain top form,Emil turned his back on the GPs which left Tai almost alone as a real world championship candidate. You have to give it to Hancock that he has maintained his enthusiasm, fitness etc over a very long period, but i think it is the failure of others rather than a sudden increase in form after more than 10 years without a title, that has taken him to the top again.Whether this is the long term effect of having a GP series where it is easier to maintain a place and therefore continue to keep or attract new sponsors. This is what f-s-p alluded to in his theory as to why it has been hard for young Danes to reach the top because Nicki,Hans,Niels and Bjerre had the GP spots and the big sponsors for themselves
  22. Let's hope it is a temporary thing like it seems Messi's decision might be.Future doesn't look bright without him
  23. It seems stupid to have a rule, give someone a warning and then let them off, just because some like Phil Rising think we should see 4 riders in a final. Then make a ruling that in a final no.one can get excluded, they can only pull out injured etc,so we all know what is going on Thing is with speedway they make up stupid rules, like joker and when people play the game and try not to get far enough in the lead that a team can use their joker,we then have to have another ruling so that is not allowed!!! But if we go that far then why not actually have a ruling that no warning will be given, you can do what you want and wont be excluded from a GP final as people want to see 4 riders.
