  1. Stop being a kid,Sid My post was asking gustix to explain his post.Nothing more, nothing less,as i haven't a clue what he was getting at.Do you know what he was meaning?I bet you don't. Look it is like this,i feel a bit sorry for you.You seem like you want to argue black is white sometimes. That is why i just gave up on the Dave Morton in the shadow of Chris thing.Couldn't be bothered to keep going round in circles with you.Now go and argue with someone else and take your squares with you
  2. Sid,point out which part of my post is wrong,if not just pipe down and go and argue with someone else See you have got one of your usual arguments going here, talking about embarassing,so better trot along http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=82365&page=2&do=findComment&comment=2894865
  3. Could you please explain why in your words "the theme currently being discussed here have been misunderstood"?I don't see anything in the current discussion saying Norbold thinks Farndon was the best
  4. See Tobi Busch has just completed his first Ice Speedway meeting, getting i guess 3 2rd places and a last(3 man heats) in Russia. He has just done a weeks training with Max Niedermaier, who incidentally won the meeting with a max
  5. Think Sid is upset one or maybe both the Pawlickis are so far down the list Thought maybe Smoli would have sneaked in there.....
  6. You would have thought seeing as the Promoter hinted at saturday meetings that he knows what he is talking about..........guess we have to wait and see
  7. Always possible in these type of thread. If Fardon can be thought of as one of the best ever because of a few years when he was one of the best and the thought of "what might have happened",it is also possible to come to a conclusion that Ronnie was the best ever,it was just his lack of ambition and his leaving the sport that prevented it.That is why it could be concluded that someone like Michael Lee might have been or was the best ever or Tommy Jansson could have won multiple world titles or could we draw a comparison between Farndon and Darcy Ward?Ward was a great talent who also had crowds of fans outside the hospital after his crash.....all opinions, and hard to say any are wrong
  8. Just have to look at England football team and the number of caps won to see stats don't tell the full story Is Peter Shilton really the best player ever for England? Certainly after him i would say Rooney,Beckham ,Gerrard and Ashley Cole are not in the same category as Moore and Charlton
  9. A woman has died in what was a suspected Drone incident.Although the drone wasn't really the cause of death http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/drones-fatal-road-accident-first-non-military-drone-death-accident-car-crash-surveillance-safety-a7180576.html But shows the security problems that could well be caused by their use
  10. Oh dear.Where did it all go wrong? Not only wanting to piss off the Clubs, now you are trying to piss off a whole nation.Great, super Just get a friend to print off the bloody racecards for you,if you can't be bothered
  11. Think it was an attempt at humour. Not a very good one,but it was an attempt.Ok,i know it is cold, the nights are long and the alcohol is expensive, people are going crazy and shooting each other in Finland, but lighten up
  12. So it seems the idea has been confirmed as total wonk. It obviously will take revenue away from clubs and any money saved and spent on beer will go to the stadium owner, not the speedway club. Can we file this away with the concrete starting area idea now?
  13. Or has an individual meeting,or 4tt or any other than the normal format.......
  14. Oh dear.Talks about aggressive posts then is abusive!!!! I did ask about 3 times for you to explain why your suggestion would "piss Clubs off".You never did get round to answering, probably because you knew it would take revenue from them. If you want a racecard in the Star why not print one off,buy the Star and then stick it inside.Job done.No-one pissed off
  15. We were lucky to have a big basket full of talent in the country back then.Lots of riders given a chance in test series. Now we have trouble naming a team for the SWC
  16. Ok,but i asked why you thought "it might" and you still haven't given us the answer as to what made you think that
  17. Look i am not going to keep agruing the toss with you back and forwards as you seem to love, but It might have escaped your notice that the GPs are mainly in foreign countries,so don't affect local Clubs. It might also be the fact that i think the company that does the programmes is also the same one that runs the Star.Even if it isn't it only means 1 GP in the UK and presumably they have no trouble from BSI as they work closely together.I was always under the impression the print was more for stay at home, watch it on tv fans anyway or why produce one for each GP Now you yourself stated clearly it might "piss off Clubs".Now tell us why that might be,please? And is it worth it?
  18. True enough. You are right and Dave wasn't in Chris' shadow. My bad
  19. The point you seem to miss although you yourself stated it is,it might "piss the Clubs off".Now you do that and it is obvious their margins are fairly small if they make a profit at all.But to even attempt to take revenue from a Club and what does the Club do?It bans you from selling the Star at their stadium.Great idea i don't think.Tell you what if the Clubs make so much money from food and drink wouldn't it be a super idea to boost the Stars profit if they also start selling beer, cola and sandwiches at a lower price than they do in the stadium.......
  20. You contradict yourself. You admit doing so would "probably piss the Clubs off" then say i shouldn't make any difference. Why would it "piss the Clubs off"if it isn't for the revenue reason? The fact is if people don't want to spend money on a programme why would they want to spend more on the Star, just for a printed racecard? The fact of the matter is the Star wouldn't exist without speedway and just the idea of them competing for revenue with the clubs is self defeating.
  21. I saw him ride for Hackney of course. You see,the point is Sid i am talking over a whole career and not 1 season Dave rode from 71-86 and Chris from 73 when he made his team debut to 93.Now as early as 1974 Chris was British Junior Champ. In 75 he made his full England debut.and in the tests against Sweden scored 11 at Belle Vue whilst in the same series Dave scored 5 at Hackney. Now Chris was 3 years younger. The next season he made his first world final.During the period they raced at the same time Chris made another 4 world finals, plus he was part of world title winning pairs and teams.Dave wasn't......
  22. Ask our member "gustix".I doubt anyone has more experience than he does at it
  23. The idea that the Speedway Star should take revenue from the clubs is self defeating. If the clubs earn less money the ygo broke and Speedway Stars revenue also declines!!!!! Is that a good strategy?
  24. Doesn't matter.Look back at their careers and Dave was in Chris' shadow.Your previous posts just help make my point.Obviously at first he wasn't.He was older, but overall he was.Dave never made a single world final, doubt he even made any major international final.Chris made plenty The original point i was making was he is an unsung hero.I don't want to put him down,he just wasn't as good as his younger brother. That is a fact
  25. What about Steve Chilman, who was riding at Wimbledon in the 60s and i seem to remember him also in the 70s(maybe making a second half comeback)and eventually had a little bit of glory in 1988 when he won the National Vintage Speedway Championship at Reading,in the post war class
