  1. Wiggy won 3 Bergring Cups as did Kelvin. This was also the event that Kelvins father won, though he wasn't the first. But Wiggy also won 5 Golden helmets there to Kelvins 3.So Simon would be considered the better Teterow rider,i'd say Honours list http://www.bergring-teterow.de/die-sieger.htm
  2. Riders having trouble with the snow.Simon had to sit 16 hours on the motorway because of strong snowfall.Drove 20km back on the wrong side just to get to a petrol station. Then police said they'd have to wait another 4 hours.Even when they got going again they could only crawl along at 30kph.Simon is the only rider travelling on his own with his bikes. The rest of the riders bikes and equipment are all on a lorry, also stuck in the same snow....... http://www.speedweek.com/eisspeedwaygp/news/105738/Eingeschneit-Eisspeedway-Bikes-haengen-in-Kasachstan.html
  3. I have just moved off topic a little bit, just like you did on another thread today John. Are you saying you and Sid are allowed(his Southampton remark)but i am not? What is your point? Belle Vue or Cradley? http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=83556
  4. Got to have a track in Penge,so gustix can make it without too much bovver
  5. Andrew Silver round the old frying pan, that would have been worth the money alone. What a sight to see him hanging off round those bends,eh? Which brings me to another thought......pick 4 British riders and a track for a great race I would love to have seen Farndon,Collins,Craven and Lee in a series of heats at New Cross
  6. So it is one rule for some and another rule for others is it Robin? You didn't keep to the rules, why should i? http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=83567&do=findComment&comment=2920166 Southampton and Norwich would be top of the list for me,if we are talking about tracks outside of London
  7. Peter Craven,Peter Collins,Mike Lee,Bruce Penhall,Mark Loram,Tommy Jansson,Tom Farndon,Brain Crutcher,Split Waterman,Fred Williams

    Which Team?

2003-2004!!! If that was me it was an insignificant forum conversation to say the least.Sorry for forgetting it
  9. Absolutely Steve. The total lack of alternative stadiums as one after another dog track was lost to development.Even the highly unlikely i know, chance of a football stadium was lost as the likes of Stamford Bridge were re-developed and the track was lost as the ends were squared up
  10. It is an automatic edit, done by the forum when you post that name Nothing personal. It happens to anyone who tries to post it
  11. No.Honestly, you have posted these boxes a few times in comments and i have no idea what they are supposed to mean. my input,is that of course it is a sad state of affairs that we no longer have speedway in the capital. So many great tracks lost and so many fans lost to the sport. As i posted somewhere else,it was possible back in 1928 to get to 3 meetings on a Bank Holiday just in London.Think in all there might have been as many as 6 on the one day,but you would have missed some of them.Maybe could have seen a few heats at each meeting though. That was an amazing time and i would love to go back to one of those early days in a time machine.....
  12. That is why i was asking for an explanation.Doubt i am the only one confused.I'd bet gustix has no idea what your banter is about either
  13. What is this supposed to mean and does it have any relevance to speedway in London?
  14. Not sure if he was in the group putting up any mone, but i remember in one of the first pieces in the press that Bert Harkins seemed to be involved.Maybe just as a figurehead?Remember my parents sending me over a clipping from a local newspaper

    Which Team?

I think it was a certain Dave of that surname who had problems with the law and because of that it wasn't allowed to mention his name here. Not sure he was ever a member of this forum though

    Which Team?

Speedway XI football team? My mums uncle Viv Harwood was closely involved with them i believe
  18. Some amateur video, but good quality and quite good in amongst the fans i think https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gn6-51LwRnc

  20. Have to say even though i come from London i can't stand Danny Dyer either But the midlands accent is terrible.Everyone sounds so divvy, like Benny from Crossroads or the midlands bloke from Auf Wiedersehen Pet
  21. Oh,i did see a comment that there were more fans before the delay!! Wish you better luck tomorrow
  22. I guess so.Doesn't seem that Biddle was in the class of Jack Parker.Unless the "show" was Biddle was a great starter and Jack toyed with him before making a pass
  23. It would make sense if he was a BSA employee to be riding at the track by the factory..Possibly where he started out.But what is the connection with Jack Parker?Wasn't he at Coventry at this time(1929)? Again having checked the Researcher it seems some data isn't available,so he could have ridden.Maybe it is though just false info
  24. Have seen in the 1958 American Motorcycle mag that there is a listing in Hancocks Bridge,New Jersey for a Biddle's BSA and Ariel sales and services.Could this be the same guy who went back and set up a shop? Not unlike former riders of the time
  25. Some info http://www.wikivisually.com/wiki/Sprouts_Elder
