Not really.Look at the photo of Hougaard and Moran and see where their legs are compared to the other riders next to them.Totally constrasting styles
-
Guess looking back there was hardly anyone with quite as spectacular a style as Kelly Moran, which was almost a legtrailer, but very much like the Dudek style, just with his front leg tucked in instead of sticking out
-
Tbh i think the style is almost the same with your old grainy photo of Charlie Challis and mine of Hougaard. The only differences are the quality of the phoot and the place where the photographer was standing As for the other photo,i think i explained perfectly clearly why i posted it and if you actually read the text accompanying the photo at no time did i ever call it legtrailing. So no real criticism of you,as i am used to your wacky posts not understaning (possibly on purpose) a lot of posts

Not sure i even saw Colquhoun, but think i must have seen Bisson. Was he at Poole in the lower league? Ok,looked it up http://wwosbackup.proboards.com/thread/371/marcus-bisson But they were few and far between and then something must have happened, either to the bikes or was it just a style that came into fashion?Rather like the spectacular foot/leg right out in front that also cropped up about 10 years ago and was copied all over the place and seemed to be dropped just as quickly.Dudek and Michelsen were two that used it that spring to mind
-
But i must say i don't really recall anyone with a legtrailing style in the 70s or 80s etc,but now you do see a few Half time, not worth panicking just yet.Or in your case celebrating
-
I was thinking the modern bike was conducive to a legtrailing style, that is why after decades of foot forward,we saw a revival of legtrailing around the turn of the century?
-
One of the modern day legtrailing stylists,Patrick Hougaard of Denmark

You could always try the search facility.I did and came up trumps with Vandenberg within a minute and i am sure there are more stories to find on this very interesting forum http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=46379&hl=vandenberg Cyril Francis also has his ver own thread.Maybe the others do as well? http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=47212&hl=%2Bcyril+%2Bfrancis

Wimbledon Stadium: Some Important News
iris123 replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Very strange. -
Is there a scenario in the rules where you could get 1 pt,but not win the meeting because you aren't officially in the meeting,so the rider on 0pts wins?Think there have been meetings where a riders points aren't counted?Such as tomorrows ice speedway German Final, when i think none of the non German riders can possibly win the title,it would go to the top scoring german,They normally i think state that the "foreign" riders aren't officially in the meeting or some such.
-
What i said.No idea why we have to go to half a point
-
In theory i guess so
-
If we go this route is it not possible for the rider who won the heat to subsequently be disqualified from the meeting for some offence,so making the rider on 2 pts the winner?Or the rider on 2pts also kicked out of the meeting and the rider on 1 pt the winner?
-
There was a day long ago when i think 20,000 were left outside the stadium on a speedway night as the stadium was full. Now i doubt if the meeting on the 5th March 2017 will even have half of that 20,000 inside the stadium?
-
I take it then that you don't respect Jack Parker?I mean the way he behaved in threatening to kill a young up and coming rider doesn't deserve respect.Maybe he was a terribly frustrated rider having never ever won a world championship.Something that both Ronnie Moore and Tai Woffinden have done twice It seems old Jack wanted to try and to hold on to a position at the top by threats and dirty riding. Not a thing Ronnie or Tai seem to feel the need to do.Quite the opposite.Ronnie was known for helping riders and now Tai seems to want to help his team mates. That to me deserves respect

There is another old saying going back to the old days at the Frying Pan,i think....."that gustix is a ......."
-
I did that John, because your "help" was of no use at all. That is why i found out it was actually about 15 miles from Newport, which is probably more help in locating the place This is after all a speedway forum, not a cheese forum.Although some of your posts are rather cheesy
-
Surely saying it was xx miles away from Newport or Cardiff would help more.I personally had no idea where Caerphilly was either!!!
-
You seem to have a fair bit in common with my family!!! You lived in the same street in Tooting as my mum and her parents. And my sister was also married in Morden,Registry office in Morden Hall Park to be exact
-
But you yourself have stated that one of your all time favourite riders is jack Parker. The Jack Parker who threatened to kill a young Ronnie Moore if he got in his way.So you are no great judge of character and dignity
