Save Speedway From "death By Eu"
iris123 replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
4th or 5th time we have had a thread about this over the past few months.......seems it is all a bit of a scare that won't affect speedway http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=83408 But we did a few days ago have some old guy out on a major highway with his new mobility scooter who had to have a police escort off of it.He said he just wanted to test it out!!!!! 10mph and pretty small and low on a road where lorries and cars are travelling at 70 or more mph........... -

Wimbledon Stadium: Some Important News
iris123 replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Ok it isn't factually correct, and i am not sure there is a constant insistence anyway, but it is spiritually correct. The football club was moved out of the area against the fans will,so they formed a new club in its place. They club has gone from success to success and i think the aim always was to get a home in the spiritual home or nearby The sad fact is and ok we are on a speedway forum and people will often see things slightly biased, that the stadium was being run down,no money invested and no real hope of speedway returning anyway -
Idiocy isn't though as long as you are here John

Was that Flat track then? I thought we had established that this flat track stuff arrived around 2004,so i can't see the link between a track day at Hackney and someone using a BSA and 2004,somehow......

Grand Prix Challenge 2017
iris123 replied to STEPHEN 333's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
That is what i said, but Jesper was saying those meetings don't count Anyway, carrying on from another thread about should the UK not use so many Australians in their teams, which i agreed with in that it would lessen the chances for Australian riders to reach the top and so help more British riders reach the top.If this sort of thing is going to happen then i would stop using riders from a number of other countries as well.Cut off the training that the Uk gives to many riders and see who will employ them. You can bet that Czech riders will find it hard to get regular meetings elsewhere for instance. Let's face it there are hardly any decent riders that come from Italy,Hungary,Latvia etc.Austria are allocated the same amount as the UK!!!!They only have about 4 or 5 riders and get 2 places and both of them are the riders wh were riding in the PL last year most probably. If they take into account that the circumstances in Australia and Argentina are exceptional, they should take into account the position of the British leagues in helping the youngsters from many countries get a professional foothold in the sport.Damage the Uk and you damage the whole sport of speedway. If that is Armandos aim then British promoters should hit back. Not as if his son or many of the Czech riders are going to get a job in any other professional league -

iris123 replied to STEPHEN 333's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
But that doesn't make sense,as Norway don't host hardly anything and Australia pretty much nothing over the past decades!!!!.Whereas the UK generally have one or two meetings.SWC most years and U21s often. The Euro stuff might be a possibility, but i wonder if it is maybe to do with not hosting the mickey mouse champions league thing, which is one of Armandos "big" projects I also thought Sweden had quite a reputation for not hosting FIM meetings -

iris123 replied to STEPHEN 333's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The first part is absolutely correct ,so no need for any delusion.Wrong is wrong. You just have to look at some of the countries already mentioned and compare their results to the fairly average results of the GB riders to see that somebody at the FIM seems to be deluded that Czech riders or Norwegian riders have been doing as good or even far better than GB has.Not sure if there is a chance to appeal or take it to an independent sporting court, but the case is pretty easy to show through results over the past couple of years that the allocations are totally unfair. No need to go any further -
Grand Prix Challenge 2017
iris123 replied to STEPHEN 333's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Whatever you say about the GB,how do you compare the requested-obtained % to the Czech Republic? You have to say that is too wacky to be true.It is most probably corrupt.Look at who CZ had in their SWC team and look at how their riders did in the GP qualis last seasn. They have one decent rider in Milik.Stichauer,Suchanek,Kus,Franc or Krcmar are not that good to be quite Franc -

For anyone who is interested, here is the film of the Trotting race against the Husky team.I won't spoil it for you by saying who won http://www.ndr.de/Trabrennbahn-Huskies-gegen-Pferd,hamj54830.html Interesting start to the traditional trotters though. An idea for Flat track i wonder? Here is a fixture list for the Trotting in the UK,including the above mentioned Amman Valley.Wonder if there are any more tracks that might be of interest to Flat trackers?Corbiewood or the wonderfully named Tan Y Castell.Might be worth getting in touch as Amman Valley obviously had no problem http://www.bhrc.org.uk/racing/fixtures/

Seem to remember one of the reasons given for White City's closure was that Reading blocked their intended move to monday nights.Wednesday they said was problematic because of the clash with football fixtures in London, obviously thursday and friday were already taken,so monday was their best option.
