So you agree.Promoters are in this to make money if possible.A popular foreign rider might well help boost the crowd and also provide good opposition to local riders.That is why the FIM aren't the people to go to and try to bring in a ban,which might help the British Final,but provide problems for numerous other nations.This is our problem and we should deal with it.Not try and make things all complex and infringe on other countries business.After all,you said you aren't interested in what other countries do.Leave them out of it

William 'ginger' O'Beirne is still quite well known in Dublin where he ran a popular motorbike shop and also motorbike training school,so got a lot of bikers started.Sadly died a couple of years back now

Completely wrong as ever.I have explained what i was repying to Phil about.Not surprised you can't grasp that though.But if the FIM ban this for the British Final they would also ban foreign riders then competing in German championships etc.The likes of Robert Lambert gained good experience riding in german Championships and others such as Dutch riders also gain experience because their home championships are relatively poor.The Dutch run theirs as an 'open' championship so that foreigners can boost the line-up...... Just have to put the name Jason Bunyan on here and ask did Phil or the Star send an e-mail to the FIM when the NZ national champion from the UK was announced as the wiildcard for the NZ GP?Bet i know the answer to that one

You might try and read.All i am saying is surely this isn't a matter for the FIM?They aren't going to ban this because it does go on in other countries and generally for good reason.I think Hefenbrock won the Latvian championship.I know for instance that a few foreigners have won the German championship.You also at least used t have the multi nation Adria Championship,because neither Croatia or Slovenia etc have enough riders for a national championship.So i was wondering why someone with Phils experience is sending an e-mail off to the FIM instead of the BSPA or ACU As i said i have sympathy with Phils opinion,but am absolutely shocked at where he sent his e-mail.So maybe i am criticising him and or the Star for their lack of knowledge.Very worrying ........

Saying that,apart from the top 5 who pick themselves i'd say only Puk and Hans have had a season where they are arguably the best rider of the year.Puk had a great league season about 3 seasons back and the year Hans was dropped for the GPs and came back in because of injury about half way through. Not sure any other Dane could be named as the best rider of any given seasn.Certainly not Pander or M.Hansen or B.Hansen and probably not Knudsen.

I think i have posted before,but in that era of the 5 best season averages for a polish rider,Eddie finished 4 times in the top 5 and probably Plech it was who was the rider who stopped him having the top 5 spots
