I think you are more likely to find Indians living near the English- Welsh border, but i have to admit it is a long time since i was there. Things might have changed
-
Sorry.....Highwaypeople then. My bad
-
Why ? There are no highwaymen or rampaging Indians at the border, are there ?

There is a difference between being at a meeting and watching it on tv. Everyone should admit that. I have been to a number of Vojens meetings which i quite enjoyed and then got home to read almost everyone here has slated it. No problems with that, because in the crowd people are enjoying themselves maybe more for the ocassion, soaking up the atmosphere, having a good time, mybe because we have invested the effort, time and money in making it there and are determined to enjoy it and get our money's worth.... Having said that, it would have been hard at the recent Vojens meetings with hardly any crowd and no atmosphere.....

I think if you want to be famous and7or make money, you need to have better visions than that. Preferably with a religious theme to it Just saying

Do You Think Speedway might do in London in Future??.

Don't think these so called 'wokes' have anything to do with it We have had NIMBY's for decades. Plus it is just a lack of support and finances. Although that could be an advantage, in that the sport is a minority sport, and could capitalise on that aspect -
UK speedway slowly dying

I think this is the current 5 year plan, and for once it seems to be going well -
For me it was all a bit surreal A really good meeting, which surprised me. But my opinion is a world championship being telvised in front of such a poor crowd, quite possibly does more damage than good. Absolutey no atmosphere, and how can there be, and despite the professional surroundings, it is just like it doesn't matter to anyone, apart from the few dozen people closely involved the 3 meetings together probably haven't attracted a decent non league football crowd
-
Whilst i agree with most of your post, i think the poor crowds could be predicted. Well they should have. Didn't they drop a similar idea in the SWC about a decade or more ago, because mid week meetings without the host country couldn't attract crowds ? The Danes are certainly patriotic, and will turn out for the final, but i have often been surprised at how small crowds have been. The first time i was quite shocked actually when i went to Esbjerg for a Denmark v Sweden U21 meeting with Leon Madsen, Patrick Hougaard, Nikolai Klindt etc and i was expecting a thousand or more, and it was one man and a dog. I might well have been the only non family member attending in the crowd that day Far from attracting much attention or sponsors, i think it would shock any non speedway fan, to see the ultimate world team championship being raced in front of those crowds, and so it should. I can't imagine any world championships for anything being watched by so few. I'd say even Curling gets better attendances Shocking. And the speedway itself, although i only watched yesterdays meeting was a real turn off. The sort of thing when i tried to get my son interested by watching a GP.....he said 'they are just riding round in circles !!' and it was hard to disagree

See we have an important correction, that Gary Fords parents were in fact from Scotland, not England at the bottom of the forum

Good. Saved me looking through my programmes I remember seeing him early on at Plough Lane and the next time Lynn came, which was also quite early he was missing
-
Can’t remember the exact details, but yes he got injured very early on. Maybe during the Spring Gold Cup meetings

WC TICKETS ALSO APPLY IN VOJENS The many speedway fans who via billetlugen.dk have bought tickets for Speedway of Nations at Granly Arena in Esbjerg can now breathe a sigh of relief. Their tickets are also valid for Vojens Speedway Center from 27 to 30 July, when Speedway of Nations will be held, instead of Esbjerg. This means that the tickets purchased for Esbjerg can be used to gain access in Vojens. The solution comes after a close collaboration between Mads Kølbæk from Esbjerg Motorsport and Jacob Olsen from Vojens Speedway Center, after the situation where Esbjerg Motorsport had to give up implementing Speedway of Nations. The agreement also states that the Esbjerg tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged. They apply solely as grandstand or standing places at Vojens Speedway Center in the days during the Speedway of Nations. Fans who have bought a VIP package for Esbjerg must contact Esbjerg Motorsport, but the tickets included in the VIP package can also be used at Vojens Speedway Center as a standing room or grandstand. There will be no similar VIP facilities in Vojens. - We are happy that the many fans are not left in a difficult situation, and we are delighted that this international event will be held on Danish soil, says Mads Kølbæk and Jacob Olsen in agreement.
