  1. And there you will notice a big difference.I can only speak for those that i saw. There might have been one or two near me and could well be loads that i didn't see,as i didn't notice everyone. But others make this great statement and speak for everyone!!! Of course your post was tongue in cheek,as you'd never do that
  2. Well I was at the Hosted v Fjelsted meeting shown on Danish TV last week.It was free to get in and they had a crowd of 4,100+,when their average attendance is more like 1,500+.But they looked like they made decent money from food and drink sales, which in their case goes to the speedway club.Of course in the UK that isn't always the case
  3. Does this not show another 'speedway shambles'? If I am right Daugavpils could make it into the final or even win the final but not be allowed to move up?Which makes the final somewhat of a farce. Not that it is so unusual. One of my local football teams has won the regional Hamburg league 3 times in a row,but refused promotion on each ocassion. But that at least was their choice
  4. It would i guess be possible to put a ban on them that starts when they sign a contract, ignoring the winter break of course.Or a fine that is to be payed when they ride in the league again. So anyone who signs them knows they will have to miss a month or two at the start of next season,or when they cme to ride they have to pay the fine before they start etc
  5. Confucious said:There is always the likelyhood that if you move the goal posts, one of them lands on somebodies foot
  6. Seen a few of these groups on Facebook.I won't mention Fiala's Actually,is it still going? As i haven't seen it mentioned in ages....
  7. I thought that group sort of died when another was formed because you upset a few and they wanted to get away from you?
  8. Maybe this is of help Probably just trying to see what response they get before going further. So i guess this is just a post on a speedway group at the moment. And you either post a response there or e-mail the person
  9. It is all fair enough arnieg. Some people on here though never seem to realise there are people with different opinions Some people watch a great meeting whilst others watching the same meeting think it i boring. It happens on here a bit.I know even i have been to Vojens and had a good time and most of the Danes around me seemed to have an even better time But i get back home and look on the BSF and there are plenty of posts complaining about how poor it was.We have people here who won't go to meetings because of the silly rules and others who like the rules. We had a guy who got made redundant and had a list of riders he wanted to see and travelled around Europe choosing the meetings,so he could cross people off his list.I have been to meetings because of the riders announced only to find they aren't there and also weren't injured etc.I have also since pointed out a few times that particular tracks were announcing riders in their line-ups who were maybe weeks before injured and out for a while!!!!......We all have different goals and opinions.Just still trying to find that list to see if i am a genuine fan though
  10. Fair enough.Lost my list of 'genuine' fans and thought False Dawn was on it.My bad
  11. Good for you.Your opinion and right, but you obviously don't speak for everyone.
  12. Hard to know if you are on a wind up with some of the stuff you have come out with. The football thingmy and now this belter!!!!
  13. Not only that the system basically means signing away any independance and you are going to be as good or bad as the Polish team you have a deal with.If a Polish team has a few riders who can't ride because of visa problems or because they won't(and lets not think the Poles can force everyone to ride.A sick note and you can forget it)then you have the leftovers, whilst your rivals have a deal with a team who have some strong youngsters and a couple of other middle order riders. You are pretty much saying the Polish team manager is the guy who is running your team as well. The sport is in bad shape now,but that would drive fans away in big numbers You also are at the hands of possible chaos when your partner club gets relegated or gets into financial problems or just doesn't want to work with you anymore...
  14. Personally i think it better for the future we try to bring our riders on rather than some guy stuck on the sidelines of a Polish club
  15. All you are going to get is anyone who isn't deemed good enough for the Polish side.In their squad will still possibly be riders from other teams,so rule them out.So basically you are talking about losing one of your best riders for some young Pole who hasn't made the grade in Poland. They aren't too keen on releasing riders for meetings in germany on the saturday as they want everyone there for training etc..Great.Would it not be better for our country to use a rider from the NL then?
  16. See there is a weakness in the idea straight away. You are suggesting forceing riders to do something.Something they might not want to.Is it not easier to get our riders to sign up to give us priority rather than dealing with other clubs riders telling them they have to ride in the UK?Maybe just me but i find it unworkeable
  17. Some ideas. What if the polish club want Jason Doyle for good polish wages, but none of the polish clubs riders want t come over for UK wages? We have riders moaning about 200 quid for the meeting yesterday and they are generally used to the wages.Riders n Poland haven't always wanted to ride in the UK for one reason or another.I they want to send someone who hasn't got a visa r doesn't want to ride for the small wage packet the whole thing goes wrong.Holta and the Lagutas for instance haven't shown any enthusiasm That is without the problem of losing a good rider for one with no experience of the tracks,so robbing the fans who pay to get in.And anyway,i am not really sure of the difference between a large squad and a team of 7 riders with numerous guests.....
  18. Great piece. One of the most interesting posts i have seen for a long while. But where does the corruption involving Gollob snr come into the equation? No mention of that piece of trouble there between funds from the council to the club and it ending up in Gollob snr's pocket, allegedly
  19. More than welcome to.But why would they be wasting their time in the UK? As said before,if they don't like the wages or the tracks or the weather or the food or any combination, stay at home.Nobody makes them come to the UK.If there is an alternative route to the top let them take it.ne or two have used Denmark as a first step, but where do they go after Denmarks saturday league? The American champ,Mike Bast said about the UK something like the weather was crap and the wages even worse,as to his reason why he didn't come.Fair enough. His opinion and he done what he thought was best for him
  20. Yes i would agree salty. One of the worst things about the statement was he had basically given up trying to qualify for the play offs even though in his words it was still mathematically possible to do so.Not the sort of thing i would like to hear from a promoter. You only give up when it is no longer possible
  21. Football is another sport.I think clubs did have trouble with the FA before for not picking even a decent 11 for the FA Cup.Not though much you can do in fooball because if they say they are resting someone, then they are resting, not playing for another club. Peterborough certainly did cheat the paying public. It seems quite likely they were financially compensated, but what about the fans that wanted to see Holder?I know myself that i choose the meetings i want to go to based on which riders are appearing. If Holder is advertised then i expect him to be there unless he is injured........
  22. It is being clever after the event. The fact is they went into the meeting with a weaker side.
  23. Teams for wednesday, and looks to me as if Holsted are a good bit weaker again. Not worth me travelling up for this when i have to pay to get in ESBJERG VIKINGS 1: A: Niels-Kristian Iversen 2: C: Michael Palm Toft 3: B: Artur Czaja (PL) 4: B: Rene Bach 5: D: Kasper Andersen HOLSTED TIGERS 1: A: Krzysztof Buczkowski (PL) 2: B: Rasmus Jensen 3: B: Bjarne Pedersen 4: C: Jonas Jeppesen 5: D: Sam Jensen
  24. Surely in speedway terms cheating can also mean not trying your best? You can get excluded for not trying your best and the SWC can also see riders attempting to finish behind someone else and that was frowned upon by the authorities.
