  1. Not really improving anything.Swapping one problem for another, particularly giving Poland two teams!!!!
  2. Not sure, but going by the photos all the teams are present including managers, apart from Austria.Only Franky and Charly in the Austrian pic.I was wondering, since Whitey has swapped the delights of Vienna for the shall we say, less salubrious surroundings of Newcastle,i think
  3. Agree with you totally on this Oh no,have I been taken in by this?Good research with that
  4. You got it spot on Bavarian. After all the promises about a brave new world, all we get is a world version of a competition we already have running each year!!! Just slightly changed so we have a two day final. Not sure why it has taken so long for all this when we have a European version anyway. And not sure how big this call for a world pairs is,when we also have the other pairs run by the other mob as well!!!
  5. One of the names along with Berry and Louis that I automatically associate with Ipswich.Sad news RIP
  6. Yes,but that is the two teams, even though one has a junior team as well.I was thinking Romford,West Ham and Dagenham =3 different clubs
  7. Phil rode for Lynn in 1973,but it was a very short season as I think he was out injured as early as April for the rest of the year?
  8. How many motorcars were there in 1645?How many coal burning power plants were there? How many nuclear power plants were there? How many CO2 emmiting aerosol cans were there? When people shopped at the supermarket in 1645 what percentage of the produce was packed in plastic back then? And when one of the 400,000 inhabitants of that metropolis London went to Starbucks, did they get their coffee in a plastic cup?And what was the track record at that village of Wembley in 1645?
  9. Err,you talk about a Grand Solar Minimum then link to a site about a Solar Minimum. You I assume realise that a Solar Minimum happens roughly every 11 years? Just a few weeks ago in the US,plus I know in Hamburg we had one of the warmest January days on record. The US has also broken coldest days recently too of course, but that doesn't change the records on the NASA site https://psmag.com/environment/why-is-winter-suddenly-so-warm https://climate.nasa.gov/ And the report of yet another Grand Solar Minimum lol https://www.theguardian.com/environment/climate-consensus-97-per-cent/2018/jan/09/the-imminent-mini-ice-age-myth-is-back-and-its-still-wrong
  10. Its a bit of banter. But I am or was sitting here shaking my head yet again at such a statement. How can you say Chris is often forgotten? He was one of the best riders of his era and then didn't disappear, but stayed heavily involved in speedway up until a year or so ago.How can he be forgotten? He was probably in the speedway star more often than most riders of his era up until recently
  11. Not sure where you get your info from, but according to NASA you are wrong. https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2017/sea-ice-extent-sinks-to-record-lows-at-both-poles So not really worth going into the rest
  12. Be fair,he is well remembered compared to his brother, whatshisname morton
  13. Seems Franky also had big problems at the border and had to spend time getting a new visa,so he can compete in Russia.Sounds like a bit of a nervous time as he was told he would have to fly back to Austria to get one and the problem was,if he did that his transporter would have been confiscated at the Kazakh border as he had to be sitting at the wheel, not his mechanic. He did though eventually get a new one at the Austrian consulate in Astana,so all is well. But he is asking is it really worth all the hassle and the FIM and MFR should assure everything goes smoothly, rather than,as Weber also said, leaving the riders to sort things themselves http://m.speedweek.com/eisspeedwaygp/news/121977/Franz-Zorn-schikaniert-Warum-tue-ich-mir-das-an.html
  14. Oh 'swear word' going from none,to maybe two competitions!!! You getting funded by the EU or where is the money coming from?
  15. Big question seeing as Finland didn't even enter the Europeans, would they consider entering this new comp?Because let's face it,no matter what system they come up with Bulgaria,Rumania and now with Wallner retired (can Austria even get a half decent pair together?) they stand more chance than some of those above named teams
  16. Surely irrelevant what people in England or London think? This is the GP section and not the British League section. It will be more down to what sponsor Monster think and how they think their customers will react. If Monster think it will have some detrimental effect on their business around the world to be associated with Monster girls, then they will be dropped double quick.I also am not really fussed either way,but the monster girls are probably the or some of the best.It is the shabby look of some others in league speedway.Holsted springs to mind. And I am not sure just what they are supposed to bring to the whole package
  17. Yes,but we are assured this new competition is revolutionary,so won't be anything like that................
  18. Who said anything about 'alive and well'? You asked if any capital cities had a team or track. Now again just because there are some that have a team, you can't take it and start moving the goal posts yet again to making out because Edinburgh,Berlin or Oslo has a team that it means they are 'alive and well'.You even said Berlin seemed 'dead as a dodo' looking at their website. Now on the website there was a Christmas greeting and a page set for 2018 fixtures!! If that is 'dead as a dodo' I am just glad you are not my doctor
  19. Damn, that's my irony meter overloaded!!!!
  20. Sure it is just to do with stopping anyone coming along and trying to set up their own 'pirate' league or competition, just as it was mooted a couple of years back
  21. He wasn't a happy bunny anyway, going by the speedweek article about not having the collection point in Moscow for all the bikes etc and riders being left on their own to get to the meeting by the FIM
  22. You seem to be missing the point.UK Martin said capital cities don't have a team or track, giving that / means or.Now Edinburgh doesn't have a track, but has a team the same as Berlin,as does Oslo if the club is called Oslo Motorsport and has a speedway section. Not sure why the hell Rye House comes into things. It isn't in London and neither claims to be a London team. Sure there are numerous cases in other sports.I do remember Belfast Celtic having to move out of Belfast,in fact move out of the country because of sectarian violence and carried on playing in the US for a year or two with their players. The situation didn't get any better back home and so the team died. But it is still considered Belfast Celtic carried on As I said,if he doesn't like the answers he is getting then he asked the wrong question, because the answers are right
  23. Same with Oslo I guess http://www.aktuellspeedway.se/norge/bana/lunner-stadion/
  24. The Berlin website has a page set up for 2018 fixtures, just none announced. So suggests there will be something announced on that page in the future Why not Warsaw?I never suggested it shouldn't be listed.... You asked about capital city tracks/teams,surely Edinburgh fits even if in name only? Think I am right in saying for most of their life West Ham weren't officially part of London until 1965 even though they were considered a London team. The track was situated in Essex You set up the question and now don't like the answers and are trying to change the goal posts
  25. But the capital city has a team, which is what you said.If you mean something else then say it,but by saying track/team Cardiff,Edinburgh and Berlin are answers to your question as well as Prague
