  1. Not really true. Vastervik last year we had Sweden 37 Russia 30 Latvia 28 Denmark 28 Year before in Vojens we had Poland 39 Denmark 36 Russia 32 and we should remember it would have been better most years if Russia had actually put out their best team...... We have a problem that there aren't that many strong countries and by putting even more weak countries into the meetings isn't going to help the quality
  2. How on earth it ever got past the idea stage ,i'll never know But surely after this they will have trouble next season attracting tracks to host these meetings and fans to attend, let alone 3 man teams from all these countries....
  3. Bit poor so far.Gap between teams is too wide.Normally some of these countries wouldn't get through the quails to meet the better teams, and that was good
  4. I was just wondering if Krompa thought Gollob had a good ride for his team, otherwise it doesn’t make much sense
  5. I would agree they shpuldn’ enter if they knew only 2 riders would be there.But...... maybe this was o.k’d by the FIM to get the comp started and maybe one or two countries initially thought they would have 3 riders, but for one reason or the other couldn’t get 3 there. And once in I don’t think you can just drop out anyway without risking a fine or ban.Maybe f-s-p can tell us the situation with Finland, but they have had financial problems of late i think
  6. Are we talking about a ride that helps your team here, rather than the sense of riding as a pair for the team?
  7. Which is why I always laugh when people post here that the GP should be held in Pardubice instead of Prague,as if Pardubice have been waiting for years to be able to host one
  8. Would we want to count them in,even if they swapped allegiance to GB?
  9. You can't always make excuses Phil.....The last time I was there was just after a GP and it looked like they had brought a few garden sheds from B+Q to use as official offices for some of the officials!!People knew what the place was like as it must have been inspected and anyway has by the time of this meeting been used often enough now.And given the likely poor crowd in attendance the tv feed is going to be very important as more are going to watch on tv,so at the very least you have to get that right!!!! But no,along with all the other problems it is known that tv are also going to have a hard time doing the job right Honestly,is it not time to give up or say,we basically have no choice, this is as good as it is going to get.Nobody else wants to host the meetings.........
  10. On the german forum an estimate of 1,000-1,500 was given and many others mentioning how poor the crowd was....no mention of attendance on the speedweek report from the meeting
  11. Before the first major meeting at Teterow a few years back I posted here that it was a big mistake because the track imo is terrible.Regardless of it being situated in a field in a failry small town, the racing I have witnessed has been poor to dangerous.I stopped going there after a few meetings, but one or two of my friends from the area told me it had improved since then.So I went to the U21 team qualifier that was in danger of being called off because riders were falling or getting in trouble on one bend.A meeting after that was called off because riders thought the track too dangerous, yet they were awarded big meetings!!! Obviously just because they are willing to pay the money.... The thing Is just down the road at Güstrow they have imo a great track and a better stadium.Only a week or so ago they got 9,000 fans in to watch an individual meeting of no real consequence!!!!.So I as you might imagine disagree with your opinion As an aside to this,i do wonder if Teterow are getting themselves into financial trouble hosting such meetings? This season for the first time they only held their Bergring grasstrack meeting on the 1 day instead of the usual 2,stating the costs were too high etc and I think the falling crowds....And a decade or so ago it was normally the case that the grasstrack weekend funded the club for the season.I'd hate to see the club get into real trouble, but if I remember correctly the Parchim club got into financial trouble with their ambitious plans to host the Longtrack world final that turned out to be a big flop.Yesterdays attendance couldn't have helped Teterow much
  12. These days I think it is easier to find a new commentator than a new fan,so.....,,,,
  13. It is a bloody big difference.Someone can win a final, but the rider with the most points wins in the end and that is how it was in the SWC as well. This new innovative comp is just rubbish.Plenty said it before a wheel was turned and after a few wheels it looks even worse that some thought
  14. Has he lost his innovative minimax score sheet?
  15. That is where we have the advantage on the others then!!! lol
  16. Is there any point in bringing hyperthetical situations like one big league with a guaranteed..,...into the discussion? We can say if that scenario happened then the Poles will up the ante and make offers the riders couldn’t refuse etc.
  17. Neither Pedersen nor Madsen seem to want to ride whilst Nielsen is in charge.Well Nicki was dimplomatic and said he wants to give the young riders a chance....,.
  18. Glad you agree with me.And on the other bit I agree with you Surely shows Rossiter isn’t fit to be team manager.Sounds more like he should join the BSF and start posting crap here like some others lol
  19. Doesn’t it state Rossiter and Cook talked on the phone Wednesday afternoon?
  20. Oh dear..... One could say jettisoning the SWC is symptomatic of the appalling state of the FIM and world speedway
  21. As an aside,I have posted over the past couple of years how we have been poorly treated at international level with our allocation of slots for GP qualifiers being less than countries like(can’t remember 100%)Italy or Austria, who only have about 5 riders!!! But when a rider signs a contract the club can expect them to honour that...
  22. Exactly.Poorly worded I think on the first point. And it seems to be a way forward and it is only those who haven’t thought things out properly who will be affected.Teething problems at the start are to be expected,at least in speedways case
  23. This is the way the sport is developing, but wonder if the title is not encompassing enoughDid the BSPA also upset Harris?Riders want to earn as much as possible.Wolbert was complaining about missing P&P for his Swedish team for a German National practice and then not getting picked for the national team nor his Swedish team. Fans want and the sport needs riders to be identified with a team. The sport has gone too far with riders in 3,4,5 or more teams. When the boot was on the other foot British teams tried a crack down and now are feeling the effects of being reliant on foreign riders. Sadly I feel the answer (to some problems like lack of training facilities and young riders)doesn’t lie in our hands
  24. But then you have the likes of Jason Crump,Mark Loram,Chris Slabon or even old Ronnie Moore.... Kylmakorpi is also interesting, born in Sweden but ethically Finnish
