  1. And what with the two nights in Poland?Ok the first night there was a football game.....Will there be a problem in speedway crazy Poland seeing this event created specifically to stop them winning? That is what happened and maybe BSI have alienated the Polish fans more than most with this new event
  2. One of the poorest posts on this debate.Do you really think Tai had that in mind?
  3. Guess it may be a generational thing, and us older fans can remember riders helping their team mates in such positions.More frustrating even when Tai had made great efforts in previous heats. It can be done,it has been done and it was really the best if not only sensible option. Just riding off on front was maybe Tai’s way of showing his rivals he is the best at the moment?Even the night after,I still find the decision strange in a team event with the rule as it stood
  4. On another note,I hope Tai now goes on to win the world title this year and Lambert the I21 title and tomorrow we have all 3 riders qualified for the European 250cc final. The future.as o said before looks promising
  5. No he done brilliant,he won the race, but that was rendered meaningless if you consider the rules, which maybe he should have. But brilliant from Tai
  6. We had at least a silver with a chance of gold. Now going off on your own does very little to help the chance of gold....that was mentioned a number of times before today’s meeting even started.I just wonder why on earth he chose that path rather than helping our chances, even if only slightly.Surely that was the best choice?
  7. Obviously we wpuldn’t be having this discussion if it was race winner!Trouble is,and I am pointing out the bleeding obvious here,it wasn’t
  8. Obviously you have a problem understanding not only my,but others posts as well, which is incredible for a long time journalist!!It is legitimate to question his tactic after all the brilliant work he has done over the past two meetings
  9. Bit strange to go for the win after all his great moves previously, but congrats to them both on a well earned silver
  10. The SON is also dead with the crowds it has attracted
  11. Tbh I thought he could have clamped Jensen out in the fence, but he was too quick and dived inside.Small mistake
  12. Probably right, just guessed Sid couldn’t see it in Swindon either. It is like a foreign country now anyway according to him.Oh,little bit of politics there lil
  13. Speedway GP Site.Watched last night, dodn’t miss a beat until heat 12 when I had to use a Russian stream instead
  14. But seems a bit much to have a final yet again in Poland next year, but if they have a signed contract then what is there to debate? Are we heading for yet more nonsense?
  15. Agree with that.Superb from both riders and the meeting was great I must say.But the poor crowd tells its own story.Guess it will be better tonight, but the poor performance from the Poles has probably spoilt a bumper crowd. Not many are going to want to see them finish 4th or so.We can get great racing in the bauhaus pairs meeting, but it still doesn’t mean it captures the public’s interest Ehat we seem to have if we listen to Phil is a comp that some countries want, but not many fans are interested in.And the bottom line is,we have to run meetings for fans, not officials.Nobody can really be happy with pictures of an empty stadium Just hope the best team wins in the end.And hope that is Tai and Robert
  16. Think that was a mistake to put Cook in,even though Denmark aren't too good.Maybe thought it was a good chance to give him a heat, but Lambert was on the pace-Get some points on the board first.....
  17. Was a very good race.Huckebeck looking good then a wipe out.And will they both be fit enough to get through this meeting, let alone two days?I hope so But this for me was the clash for last place or better
  18. A two day event will only work in speedway mad Poland,he said.......
  19. Others were saying that the ref might exclude a rider for doing that. And that leads to a problem, because in theory you could get excluded for doing exactly what the competition is trying to encourage!!! And the same could happen in the final if one rider is excluded and then a pair coast round knowing they only need to finish to win and then 1 or both get excluded for not trying. These are the silly parts of the sport.I know from seeing a rider get excluded for not trying at an indoor meeting on a dangerous concrete surface.Come to think of it,that was also a 2day event at Kiel and by the second day a number of riders were out injured(think Tobi Kroner broke a leg)and the guy who got excluded was the only rider left in this particular heat!!!!
  20. Lets face it most of the problems were mentioned on here long ago.We had a decent comp that was replaced. We have 6 or 7 relatively strong countries, there is no getting away from it.Whatever you try the weak countries will still be weak.Sure I said that many countries won’t have a decent U21 rider and if you scrap that it still means many countries won’t have 3 riders on a par with the top countries. Typical speedway trying to solve one problem and walk straight into the next.Speedway just doesn’t have the strength in depth of football and adding more countries into the equation will only show the gap up more than before
  21. Pretty much agree with that.First interview was ok,but the background noise for the second and the fact that by then I got a bit fed up with the woman and the questions...... You have got to start somewhere though and the opening titles looked slick until the Lakeside bit come up which looked a bit of an amateurish add on.Tie that woman hands up for a starter!!!
  22. I don’t write them off.Just think they are vulnerable as Phil said, but not only to Sweden if Lindbäck is on fire.We will see over the 2 meetings if anyone gets a5-1 against them or not
  23. I can see Poland,Sweden and Russia getting 5-1’s against those two and maybe 1 or other team. The main thing is not to drop points against those.Tbh I don’t see us getting a medal, but the positive is I do see us improving over the next few years whereas some of the teams will drop off.So we do look to have a bright future if Bewley and another come along
  24. Just the way I see it.For the people there, they have paid out a fair whack and it is crap I was thinking of turning off by ht 7,but kept watching for the debate. But I know from experience of trying to get my son interested, that by 4 boring heats he totally lost interest and even if we think others might give it longer, they won't give it that much longer.....Maybe as a couple have said, give this a miss and just have a 2 day final. But the SWC was much a better concept
  25. Ht 14 was good i'll admit, but ht 15 normal service resumed and is 1 good heat from 15 enough to keep viewers tuned and punters at the stadium happy?
