  1. Thought maybe he has dual nationality? But surely as I said he is representing Austria in this, even if he couldn’t ride for the Austrian team.Same as Simon Wigg was representing the Netherlands in longtrack.I never mentioned what nationality he was, just who he was representing
  2. Russia won. They done what was needed and we didn't.Simple as that Before the meeting I said on here I didn't think we would win this year, but our future looks bright.Well I was wrong a pleasantly surprised to put it mildly. But when you get that close to actually winning the thing,i was and still am amazed that we didn't try our best in the final, but rather tamely handed it to the Russians
  3. Because you have made a fool of yourself once too often? It is like being in the final, you can go off and make a fool of yourself or you can have a bit of patience, think things through and be like the rest. You choose......fool!
  4. He is in with the AMF,Not DMSB,plus he does have the Austrian flag on his kevlars Probably means nothing though
  5. Totally redundant counter argument, because we aren't any worse off......but at least we had a better chance if he tried and failed. Not trying at all,was a no brainer,Even financially Tai wouldn't have been better off winning the heat.......
  6. See Flint got a 2nd place from his 1st ride,the other two a 4th Flint 2,1,1,2 Ablitt 0,3,2,0 Palin 0,1,1,1 Birkemose from Denmark is the new champ Results 1. Marcus Birkemose - 15 (3,3,3,3,3) 2. Philip Hellström-Bängs - 14 (2,3,3,3,3) 3. Esben Hjerrild - 13 (3,2,3,2,3) 4. Noel Wahlqvist - 11 (3,2,3,1,2) 5. Ben Ernst - 8 (3,X,2,0,3) 6. Rasmus Pedersen - 8 (1,3,0,3,1) 7. 7. Nothing to get over.I am just posting an opinion.Don't like it,don't come on forums where people express opinions.Simples
  8. I was at the world youth final in Denmark years ago when Rene Bach was the best rider there, but had to go into a final, which he was leading twice and both times,no fault of his the race was stopped and then the third time he lost out.Never liked the system then, nor since
  9. Hated trying to fill out a programme on glossy paper.Old style programme was much easier to fill out.GP programme is basically a magazine and no idea what one costs nowadays, but probably neigh on an admission price for a meeting(at least a german one) As an add on to the opening post, the football programme/magazine for my local club Hamburg are handed out free of charge around the stadium.Could well be at most or all Bundesliga games.I remember being p'd off when I came over to see Celtic play Dortmund back in the 80s and there were no programme sellers to be seen......
  10. I thought his fans were those women in the pink hats.Has he got any more,?As it all went quiet Rory-wise once they left..... Is it a winner takes all final or a straight 20 heats, most points scored is the champ? And will there be more or less than at Wroclaw?
  11. See,you are getting there....just another step and you will be with us
  12. Oh god, just when things were getting sensible along comes another one!! The competition was specifically thought out for 'team riding in those circumstances' otherwise the rule for the final would be different
  13. Basically this is the typical British speedway attitude of when there is a gap in class, the best idea seems to bring the top down a level rather than trying to get the rest up to the best.We have had decades of it in British league speedway of trying to weaken the better teams and we know how that all ended up.Now of course anyone can see,and Phil even said why this competition came about.Poland were deemed too good,so the answer is obviously try and level it out a bit by cutting back on their strength in depth. If this was still the SWC,i am not sure any other country would have challenged them. They can afford to have one poor rider in the knowledge other countries will have 2 or 3 I don't think you need a media campaign etc to see what was going on.The stupid thing to do was bring the idea in when Poland were staging the finals. It could have been even worse if Dudek had performed better and they had made the final as top scorers(which most must have thought likely)then lost.It might have been held in Denmark or Germany and then we could have got not only an empty stadium but two poor meetings!! Maybe next time,eh? What will happen next year if teams are forced to track 3 riders with those poor pay rates? Was bad enough for some of the smaller countries to split the money 2 ways, but 3!!!We might,as I predicted some time ago,end up with Russia B,Poland B or Rest of the World 1 +2.......
  14. Yes,that is probably it.He went off in the hope that Artem's natural racing instinct would get the better of him and he would lose control trying to catch Tai,thus handing the win to us. Best theory I have heard so far
  15. But fans matter and fans were complaining as soon as it was announced how the final worked and fan voted with their feet,it was plain to see......ignore fans opinions and you end up with empty stadia. Then you end up with few sponsors, then you end up in trouble.....
  16. Let's not forget that Emil had already finished last twice and in the previous meeting Lambert did finish ahead of him!!!
  17. See Rob Lambert is riding in front of a much bigger crowd today than the previous 2 days!!!
  18. Exactly as I posted I hope you are ok Phil,as I am getting a bit worried by some of your posts lately He has been known as Liglad since I first saw him when he was about 13 or so.Probably before that....surprised as a speedway journalist you don't know that https://www.ligladracing.dk/michael-liglad-profil
  19. Exactly.Robert was right up Emil’s arris, not left for dead
  20. The thing is,it didn’t matter in previous heats, did it?If Tai got a 3-3 by winning the heat,it was the same as letting the leader go and helping Robert finish 3rd.Only harder work 4 third places and another one would have given us the title. It was worth a try at least seeing as Robert had done it 4 times already!!!
