Not really that far back.Maybe 8-10 years ago Danish Final at Holsted and it was the final of the final.Think from memory it was Bjarne Pedersen,Kenneth Bjerre,Hans Andersen and of course Nicki Now Nicki was the rider I wanted to win and into the first bend it looked like he had it in the bag. Then he lost control, almost totally. He was almost at a standstill as the others left him for dead.At least as someone who wanted him to win it looked like he had no chance. Then he got going and over the next 2 laps passed Bjarne and Bjerre.Still Hans had taken advantage and was quite a way out in front and silver looked the best Nicki could hope for.But it was his home track and his main rival and Nicki just kept going and making up the metres, until on the last lap he did the unthinkable and went past Hans to win the title Just for the sheer rollercoaster of emotions of thinking he was going to win, then thinking it was all lost, then the slow felling of he is going to make something happen here....it had all a speedway race should have, for me

Not sure where you get this from but Clem Cort neither appeared for Wimbledon nor Harringay in the Southern League as far as I know.He did though ride most of the Southern League fixtures for White City London.....

I think you will find I tried that in the previous post.Just as others have tried on many occasions without success when you are around. We had a lovely time when you were absent
-
Was the title all on this Grand Final then? I did see that there would be a Grand Final and wondering what the point was.......
-
Nigel has his last official meeting in the UK in 1974,but s here late 1975 in Rhodesia !!! http://www.speedway-sa.com/resources/Rhodesia_2018/1975 only Fix%2BResults.pdf

Ditto. Which makes me wonder why you keep posting this stuff, as if I care one iota !!!
-
Same here.I receive a few messages about you.Someone even mentioned how your name was mud with a few riders.Everyone can see how you post rubbish in the hope of disrupting threads all over the place just this week and got shot to pieces
-
We are on the BSF and so I am only talking about the BSF.No deflection As for the troll part....if the cap fits Not been a good week for you here!!!
-
We have had years of it.Asking the same questions, posting the same comments over and over like a stuck Frankie Vaughan record.Nobody takes the old boy serious.
-
Guessing that Nigel Rackett was his son
-
When we talk about the track staff like Tozer and Crossley, the big guy with the white hair springs instantly to mind.Looks as if he is handing over the rains to someone else in this video. He comes on the track once or twice to give a bit of advise/help.But he is the one I always remember

Rob Godfrey interview in Speedway Star

Saw him at White City where he really rose to the top and subsequently back st Eastbourne. But was surprised he rode that last time at Plough Lane as when I talked to Barney it sounded like Gordon wasn’t that interested in speedway any more.Think Barney said he had tried to get Gordon to watch a meeting without any luck. -

Ok,I just misunderstood ‘start their senior league duties’.One of those that slipped through our fingers, but for me a big surprise to see him out there at the last speedway ‘night’ and the one rider who really rode the track.Went up in my estimation -

Just to correct.Gordon Kennett started out at Eastbourne and Wimbledon in 1970.He made second half appearances and also 5 league appearances for the Dons that year.Sadly he we let him get away until his return in the 80s It was great to see him in the last appearance of speedway bikes before the track closed for good -
Isn’t this down to a sponsorship deal? Generally agreed that the sport should dedicate money and time on encouraging young riders.Fail to do that and the sport really is heading towards a brick wall

It is difficult to compare like for like.Even within speedway there is less interest in this level. Not even sure there are differing levels in stock car racing like there are in F 1 style with Formula Ford etc.So how do you compare stock car interest with National League?
-
And so someone who admits they have little interest in modern speedway has taken the time to become something of a Buxton expert??? Rather strange world you inhabit or do you sometimes just tell porkies?

Seeing as you have stated since the late 70s you have hardly attended speedway and have little or no interest in modern Speedway,on what knowledge do you judge there is a difference? 30 minutes of a stock car forum? What is your knowledge of Buxton speedways struggle to survive?
-
I think the reason for the difference is the number of wheels.Cars tend to have 4 of them and bikes just two

I see the Young Lions are coming to Germany for some training at Neuenknick .Are these meetings going to be internationals?

General Discussion

Think he posted on the forum a few hours back

Again, another I can't remember seeing in action during his brief spell, but someone I have met since. Torben Hansen who helped save and run the Skaerbaek Speedway Club http://speedwaylife.com/danish-tracks/skaerbaek-speedway-stadium/
