  1. A 15 year old won almost a million pounds by finishing 2nd in an e-sports tournament !!! As I posted a year or so ago, this is the future and maybe speedway should try and get in on the act, just as football clubs are... https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/british-teenager-wins-1million-fortnite-18790114
  2. Not going to write it all out , but Kemp and Flint riding at Güstrow, guess the other line-ups been announced http://www.fim-europe.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/714-02-U19-SF-Gustrow-SL-1.pdf
  3. Yes, the 20 quid tickets were for decent seats, as I only go now and again and it was more a treat for my daughter. We could have got standing tickets cheaper
  4. Went to Hamburg v Anderlecht a couple of weeks back 2-2 in quite a good game for a friendly costing about 20 quid. But you can get into Dortmund Bundesliga games cheaper than that !!!
  5. Rubbish. Plus in ice hockey and lots of other sports the time is stopped when the action stops
  6. It makes sense from a regional point that the nearer the club the more fans they are likely to bring etc. From an attraction point of view the strength of one club will change, but the distance remains the same. I think that is always the case that near neighbours attract a bigger crowd. What happened this season I don’t know. Were those two dates then affected by bad weather or another attraction?
  7. Seems they have had no problem breaking even with other opponents or going up against the GP on two nights, just against oppo from a distance
  8. The worrying thing at least from Eastbourne is that they had poor attendances against the Scottish teams. So will one big league make it very difficult for those teams at each extreme of the UK while suiting those in the middle?
  9. And speedway as well. They seem to hold training schools almost every weekend, weather allowing https://m.facebook.com/Rye-House-Speedway-Stadium-Whats-on-161299090883084/
  10. Don't count myself as one of those as I really don't care much about the competition and even in the good old days, never went. But I guess the only thing that could be done, is like some other competitions, have a few decent riders in the line up that aren't in the running for the title. Generally this happens in some national finals where they don't have enough riders to make up a field. But of course you would be robbing a few Brits of a place in the meeting, just to attract probably a handful more supporters.....
  11. Bit unfair imo. I think the level of Danish speedway is fairly good, mainly because they do have some strength in depth, and then add in a few decent foreign riders. I’d say, although I preferred the previous 6 man teams and it is hard to compare 5 man teams to 7, but it is probably a better level than the British level
  12. The final has now been moved from Holstebro to Holsted and will start at 20:30 Danish time, due to bad weather making the Holstebro track unrideable!!!
  13. Apart from speedway, like boxing is a confidence thing to a large extent and that is why they don’t just throw a youngster in to get beat up by a champ. They take it step at a time. This time isn’t right for someone trying to get back to where he was last season
  14. Just got in from football, so no idea Just seen that the times were changed and possibly postponed until tomorrow? Not sure just news from about 4 hours ago that the first semi will be at 10:45 !!! So that was very late for today to release news or the meetings will be run tomorrow Confused of Hamburg Now seen the results, so the meetings were held early today. Sadly the GB guys finished way down
  15. Not sure I agree. It is a two day meeting and anything can happen. And then an out of form Bewley thrown in against the best in the world might only hamper his comeback to his best even more. Take him along as part of the team to gain experience by all means
  16. There will be a livestream of the meetings https://www.prosonas.com/da/livestream-speedway-vm-2019-ungdomsfinalerne-holstebro-21-juli?fbclid=IwAR3gTKwheFHrNUAVfr4s1jvA6Ifv2k38xP8fueRHT0UO1ejlPS_KkgYJGXI
  17. Yes the Estonians had/have a team in the Finnish league if I remember rightly?
  18. Not sure, but quite likely two spots in the final are reserved for Danish riders
  19. Ben Ernst is the grandson of former East German Champion Hartmut Ernst (1977) and his father (Martin) also rode. Sam Hagon is I am sure the son of Martin. Marlon Hegener's father Benjamin was also a Longtrack/Grasstrack rider. Not sure if he rode speedway at all
