  1. Olle Nygren at Wimbledon. But tbh i don't remember anything about individual riders in my first meetings. But i do still have a tattered Nygren /Dons rosette. So i know he was the star when i first started going
  2. This made me laugh......delusional somewhat to think there is a band wagon to jump on here There isn't. That is why nobody jumped
  3. I read something about this yesterday. A meeting due to be ridden in Finland has now been moved to Germany, and they mentioned insurance problems. I just thought it was for the meeting/track, i didn't realise it was a national problem
  4. Remember Shirley Muldowney being a top Drag Racer in the US back in the 70s when I think ITV used to show it. Alongside Don Garlits. Not sure if others followed, as my interest only lasted a couple of years
  5. Ok the alarm bells are ringing. I have a feeling you were an unintelligible conspiracy loon in a previous life I think it is time for me to abandon ship and leave you with the baby faced people
  6. Exactly The idea behind a discussion forum is to get your point across to others in relatively clear english. Well that is the language i learnt. It doesn't have to be perfect grammar, but the point has to be understandable. If you have a point, which i doubt, it doesn't come across in child speak. Maybe you want to post it in the junior section ? Maybe it was meant for these baby faced people on the ship ?
  7. Certainly am if someone posts like a young child who knows words, just doesn't know how to compose an intelligible sentence with them Who is competing in this ship for instance. And what do ships have to do with speedway ?
  8. Not sure about mental, but that is unintelligible
  9. Funny, because nobody had posted for a couple of days anyway. And speculating and guessing is what this forum is for mostly
  10. Yes. As i posted on the other thread, it was some years ago when he said he was a reformed person and wanted another chance.......here we are, and how long will it be before he is saying he is a reformed character and wants another chance ? What are the odds ?
  11. I think you are getting yourself in a twist here. Why does she have to be near the same standard as Championship middle order riders, when she was employed at reserve ? Aren't there a good few riders that have been in teams for years that aren't going to be middle order riders, or at least not in the first of second season ? Some struggle a bit at first. I don't even think Celina has struggled too much before she started picking up points.
  12. The thing that struck me i seem to remember when looking at Fardon's scoring, was his inconsistency and a fair number of falls. Although it was a few years ago now. maybe it was down to the tracks or the bikes etc and maybe he was still to peak But Mauger and Nielsen were extremely consistent, as obviously Fundin was
  13. See Erik Bachhuber has retired after his 3 rides in Macon. Said he had been thinking about giving up for a while !!!
  14. In this he mentions he went to England with a New Zealand passport, but in England they looked at him as an Australian
  15. He sounds like a swinger too
  16. You might notice, i made no judgement either way. I was just posting something about brothers with a long gap between births
  17. Millwall player Pat Brady was 20 years older than his more famous brother Liam. His other brother Ray, who also played for the Lions was a year younger than Pat. They also had another brother, Frank who was older than Liam, but younger than Pat and Ray I don't know if the Colliers are brothers or not, but i have been waiting for a long time to put this on a thread I thank you
  18. There is also the Ukrainian rider Stanislaw Melnychuk. Not totally sure he goes by the name Stan. Sure someone corrected me once when i saw him in Germany. But at least he sometimes gets named Stan and COVENTRY boss Peter Oakes praised reserve duo Stan Burza and Ben Barker for keeping the Bees in contention at Belle Vue on Monday, both being paid for double figures in a 49-44 first-leg KO Cup defeat.Oakes said: "I don't know how Stan does it because he's hardly ridden recently, and Ben was terrific as well. The two reserves and Chris Harris totally held us together."We looked disjointed, but five points isn't insurmountable so we're still very much in the Knockout Cup - but we won't hide behind the performance."
  19. Some great neames there I stayed a couple of nights in Usti nad Labem. I didn't know there had ever been a track there
  20. One of the meetings that sticks in my mind was the England v Poland meeting where England got a 5-1 in every heat except the last, when I think someone got excluded and it ended up a 3-2 possibly. And it was a decent Poland side How things have changed
  21. I didn't want to bite. But Plough Lane served up some great racing. For a while i went to Wimbledon, Arena and Hackney almost every week, and Plough Lane was at least as good as Hackney. And of course back when Ronnie Moore was riding, nobody could say it was a bad track.
