Morris will be riding for the Robins this season as according to Jason's tweet, he won't be.
-
Never was a 2 Brit limit last season, it was "2 riders who have ridden in or qualify to ride in NL"
-
I agree with that, bring back Batch & Musielak, Wilson Dean & Zac at reserve. Then you need 2 x 5 point riders to make up the 42.5

Dogs are on Monday afternoons.

Not so sure on that, it's either Doyle or Morris. For me, although I really like Doyle, it has to be Morris. Jason admitted last season that he had not pushed himself in team meetings to prioritise the GP's due to his injury. As he seems to suffer an injury most seasons, then Morris seems the better bet & I think he has still some improvement in him. Musielak must be in their too.

I'm guessing that there's a lot of problems with getting fixed race nights. Too often the promoters take their own interest first & do not see the long term benefits. We'll probably get yet another mish-mash of changes which will not help the sport at all. I wait in dread!

Refereeing Cock-up At Swindon V Belle Vue Ko Cup
DunRobin replied to WalterPlinge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I don't believe he issued a warning in heat 3. He merely asked the rider in red to remain still & I didn't see any warning sign raised in front of the rider when he returned to the tapes. If that is correct, then he shouldn't have been disqualified from the race. The bloke had a nightmare on the night, he was holding the tapes too long all night & I think this is what is causing so many restarts now, along with the ref guessing when anybody makes a good start that they must have moved. There was a case in point in a recently televised meeting, when Doyley was pulled back for moving. However, when you rerun the race, the tapes definitely moved before Doyley did, a perfect start in fact. -
Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17

Short term memory loss, maybe it's time to see your doctor. It's best to address these problems before they get too serious! It's great to see super-troll bite! -
Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17

As you have mentioned so many times with regard to Poole, "he is covered by a doctor's note, so it can't be cheating! What go around comes around. You & many other Poole supporters have said that Newman wasn't worth having this season. So what are you making so much noise about. Sounds like you are getting your excuses in early! -

Make the most of this Poole as from what I'm hearing you will be soon just another district of Bournemouth. Will Bournemouth council help you like Poole do? I'm not so sure! -
Swindon Vs Wolves 31/8/17

Don't kid yourself, nobody o/s of Dorset holds you in high regard & as I understand it, there's even a few in Dorset who aren't too keen. -
Could be a waste of time. I've heard that the BSPA are to bring in a rule that limit's the number of assets that they can hold.

Poole Vs Kings Lynn 30/08/17
DunRobin replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What patched up teams over 16 meetings, that's over half a season? That's about as realistic a comment as I've ever heard! I believe that Poole had only one rider missing when they came to the Abbey. Some patching up. -
Lasse Bjerre. Refusal To Ride.
DunRobin replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It must be said that he seemed determined to wreck his bikes last night at the Abbey. He had one good race win but he seemed totally out of it in his other rides. 2 trailing at the rear & 2 crashes Anything from SS is misleading! -
Belle Vue V Rye House 30 Aug 2017
DunRobin replied to Speedwaycrazy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well I hope Let's-have-a Bjerre goes better than he did at the Abbey last night! I think inconsistent springs to mind. -
A funny lot the Kings Lynn supporters. I don't see them crying for Lambert's head after pulling out of a KL match & then riding in & winning the European u21's title. Double standards me thinks!
-
Leicester could be harder than people are thinking, they pushed us hard in the meeting on 3rd August & were level 37 -37 after heat 12. It took 3 successive 5 - 1's to wrap up that meeting. They won away at Belle Vue on Thursday & then trounced the Rebels at home on Saturday, so one imagines their tails are held high at present. The Robins will have to be on song from the start, I fear. I'm always been weary of double headers, often it can be win one lose one. This Rebel side could be a tougher task than last Thursday. Also, if the weather stays good, the track for the 2nd meeting could be a little slick. So come on then boys, let's see you at your best for 2 meetings. Win them both & with Belle Vue having a tough meeting at Wolverhampton, we could be 10 points clear with 3 meetings to go, if results go our way.

Is This Swindon Team The Best Of Recent Times?
DunRobin replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If you'd seen him you wouldn't have forgotten him. He was an even harder rider than Nicki Pederson! Virtually unbeatable on his day & oh how the opposition loved to hate him! -
I think Somerset might bring a few more on Monday. If I was a Rebels, I would have picked this meeting of the 2 to attend with an extra meeting for a few quid.

Is This Swindon Team The Best Of Recent Times?
DunRobin replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Who really cares if it's the best run or not. I'm just enjoying this run of wins after the dodgy start we had. Hopefully we can replicate what Coventry did under Roscoe, when they too had a dodgy start to the season. -
Swindon Vs Kings Lynn 21 August 2017
DunRobin replied to Steve0's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Leigh Adams was as good a team rider as I have seen, many is the time I 've seen him sat in that arm chair protecting a lesser rider for yet another 5 - 1. At least that bike looked like an arm chair when he rode it round the Abbey. -
Any reason to have a dig at the Robins & you do. Perhaps Somerset should have looked more carefully at the rider's race nights be before re-declaring. The cut-off date is approaching fast & you can not have any more unnecessary empty race nights.

Fixed Race Nights For 2018 Season
DunRobin replied to Perton Wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Too many people come on here & say that we can't have fixed race nights & then moan about the trouble with re-arranging meetings due to doubling up or also moan about the number of guests. We can no longer keeping putting our heads in the shale, change is needed. There are many of the riders that need the doubling up to get the number of rides in to make a living & not all of them will get the chance to ride abroad. Secondly without those extra rides, many riders lose their form, Morris was a prime example of this last season. We can no longer live in the past we must move forward. -
Swindon Vs Kings Lynn 21 August 2017
DunRobin replied to Steve0's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
To be fair, the second meeting is a re-scheduling of an earlier rained off meeting. The trouble is that's it's been very difficult to re-arrange rained off meetings due the number of doubling up riders & the rule that the Championship get priority for the re-scheduled meeting. I do understand the reason for the rule but we have to find a different way of handling this. My idea would 2 fixed nights for the Premier League, say Monday & Wednesday & the Championship on the remaining nights. This way we could still retain doubling up & it's a certainty that a lot of the riders need the doubling up to get them enough rides to make a living. They don't all get the chance to ride abroad. It's a fact that not all clubs own their own stadiums but as the PL sides always manage to ride on a Monday when BT sport are there, then that's an obvious alternative for them. The Championship will then have 5 nights in which to fit their fixtures in. I say this as a Swindon fan & they would be one club who would have to change their race night. Hopefully this would then mean, you would only need guests for injuries & a few clashes of race nights in the same league. I'm not a fan of R/R as it affect different clubs so much, where in some circumstances, every other rider is ok to take a ride & for some others, it's one above & just 3 low average riders. -
Shouldn't this be on the Poole 2018 thread?
