Oh sorry..... my bad Bit harsh on the old fellah he is a good rider but makes too many excuses and does not seem to learn from his errors. I would love to see him win a GP again but fear it may well be as you say I am sure Zmarzlik would give a good account of himself. I have been watching him via Polish streams for years and that lad is top prospect. I don't understand why the Russians have so much trouble with visa's I got a Russian visa dead easy when I was there in August. Am no expert on visa's but I travel all over the world and when I want one I get them with no trouble. Just gotten a Cambodia and Vietnam visa for December. And yes I understand that sportsmen may have different visa problems to me but they travel the world all the time so don't understand why Russian speedway riders can't get around but Russian weightlifters can And yes some riders say they don't want to do GP just yet which is a shame. My point still stands as this is a poor GP line up considering that it is supposed to pit the best in the world against each other.

Belle Vue National Stadium
pandorum replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I don't have to justify myself to you but as you are obviously an idiot I will attempt to. I don't go as I no longer have a team and travelling to watch another is too expensive and not good value for money as I prefer to travel the world and watch rock gigs. I have spent a lot on the sport and have travelled to over 50 tracks watching my own team and even matches with just a rider I liked. Too expensive to do that nowadays and I would rather visit all 50 US states (20 to go) than spend any more money on the sport. I prefer armchair speedway nowadays it is true but I am as just as much a speedway fan as you. The state of the sport concerns me as I would love it to be what it was 40 years ago. A new stadium is fine and I do wish BV well but the sports problems are many and this won't solve those problems. I thought as a speedway fan I had as much right to put my opinions as any but now find it is the elite that have a track who are allowed a voice and not us that no longer have a track. Sad that as I have spent a lot on this sport and been a fan since I was a kid. No chance of that really SCB as I don't believe the sport can compete with SE Asia or America of Iron Maiden or Ghost. Got too many places to visit next year and too many bands to see Sad though that people like TWK have fallen out of love with the sport. I had a lot of good times at his old track in the days of Mad Jack and Russ Dent. The sport is going headlong for oblivion as far as I can see and a National Stadium may well not be the answer many think it will be. I hope the sport survives but since when I started watching the sport has lost over 30 teams. That is not a healthy sport Those in charge seem to spend too much time p#ssing off those who go let alone attracting back those who don't. There are some really good ideas running around this forum yet they think of us as the enemy. So I will continue to enjoy foreign matches and GPs on the computer. I do wish the sport well here but fear for it as it seems as if it actually wants to go the way of the Dodo. This PO farce simply one of many this year alone. sad really -
I like the cut of your jib sir. Why are you not the chairman of the BSPA instead of whichever idiot is? Subbuteo could end up as a way to settle this years champions and with the amount of guests and shenanigans will probably be a lot more interesting.

Yeah pretty sure. I can name 3 Russians better than all the qualifiers and most of the picks also a Slovakian who should have been in plus several Polish reserve riders who are better then Harris and the 2 Aussies. Can't quibble with Harris and Doyle as they earned their place but the picks were very second IX other than NKI.

Line up hardly great but sadly it is probably the best we can get with who is available. With what's on offer Bomber may well surprise everyone and finish 2nd last

Belle Vue National Stadium
pandorum replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I hope you fill the place every week mate and are able to use the venue for concerts and anything else that comes to mind. No speedway fan want's this to fail and even though I don't go anymore I am a speedway fan. It seems like people can't discuss this if they bring up all the inconvenient points that speedway is a sport that is dying and not prospering. Sorry to dent your rosy outlook but have seen many venues fold in my time and many struggle. I hope BV have a great team and a stadium full of fans but the reality is likely to be different. It's a lot of risk and a lot of debt for BV. I wish them well. -
Will Chris Harris team ride with himself in the heat where they both come up against each other? Tai will probably give the UK a miss next year and concentrate on the GP with Sweden and Poland. Who can blame him? Richardson and Nicholls stopped riding for the national team due to finances so Tai will probably do a similar thing with the Brit league. But he will still be part of the Team GB set up. The lad wants to win more world titles and sees that other top men cut down on their leagues and will most likely do the same. The EL is the least profitable for him in terms of cash and large number of meetings. I wish the lad well as he has proved this year he is no one off. He will win the world championship again.

If it isn't broke then don't try to fix it. You have a point but tonight showed the system works well enough. We even had a run off. Other than topless start girls it's fine

I have been drunk many times but never drove a car or operated machinery the next day but I too don't see the relevance that others have done the same thing it somehow vindicates Ward. We are not on trial here as we did not drink a lot of alcohol the night before a GP. Ward did that and deserves to be punished. He lied about his bad news that too should be taken into account. Frankly they should throw the book at him but He is responsible and He deserves to pay the price whatever that price is.

Nicki unfortunate really as KK was to blame for that. Great for the fans as Woffy gets another chance. Hope Nicki is all riled up and misses the gate -

Well one Greg. Worthy winner. Hope Woffy takes a rostrum place as the lad deserves one. A great worthy world champion replaced by another great worthy world champion. -

A fair point but let's see how they are first before we start gawking. I remember the replays of the Lee Richardson crash on Polish TV as I watched it live. Lee looked OK but obviously wasn't. It's a bloody dangerous sport and as you say crashes part and parcel. But the better technology becomes it allows to see so much more. It's a hard one and to be honest it's not easy to reason which camp to be in. Kelvin knows what the rider is going through as he has been there himself so give the lad a break -

shame for MJJ but he was lucky it was not a lot worse. He will be back in the GP as he is too good to not be. Great to see Pavel show Holder the way round his home track. A one for the future that lad. -
Hopefully he will be judged on his crime rather than his popularity. I think he is a great rider and always livened up GPs but the point is he turned up with alcohol in his system and could have endangered himself and those he rode against. It's not as if he is some clean cut rider who fell from grace because he heard some bad news. Ward lied his arce off about that as well by all accounts and made the pathetic excuse that he should have hydrated instead of the blindingly obvious conclusion that perhaps he should not drink the night before a meeting. The man deserves all he gets and he must be seen to be punished or else the sports rules will be seen as even more of a joke. A 12 month ban seems fair and perhaps if he is contrite maybe a wild card for 2016.

Australian Gp Is Back
pandorum replied to Stats's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Good news although bit unfair on Europe which is the GP bread and butter denying them a chance to see the champion crowned. Let' s hope we see Tai Woffinden as that champion as he will appeal to OZ and maybe get a few on the gate. It's a pity they can never coordinate these events and have a NZ and US one together with OZ. So far these experiments have not been a success so good luck to this one and hopefully it gets the backing it deserves. -

Questions That Need An Answer
pandorum replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Well that hardly makes Poole bothered about getting a track ready. What a silly rule. The home team should be encouraged to prepare a track with a whitewash a penalty for not doing so. I am a big fan of the PO system TWK but that is indeed a fair point. Poole don't complete a fixture and win by default -
Questions That Need An Answer
pandorum replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
KL should then be awarded a win as Poole could not complete the fixture. But of course this is speedway so KL will get a draw giving Poole the final spot. Or they will award the final spot to any team with an O in it or go by average rainfall or nearest team to the Equator or if that's KL furthest from the Equator. Poole will get in whatever criteria they use -
Belle Vue National Stadium
pandorum replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
You are such a fool mate why should anyone be anti that even if you qualify it with a wink Now we can see something real taking place. Once the ground is broken it is likely to end up with a stadium. Excellent news but the points raised here about debt and making it pay will still stand unfortunately. This idea that fans will flock to the place in thousands is a bit too optimistic. Once the honeymoon period is over BV will struggle just like all the rest of the EL except Poole -

The Indians have a chance but only until the racing starts Elit with a team like that should dance both legs even with strong reserves for the Indians. Hopefully I am completely wrong and we get two cracking close matches. -
Maybe he was not hydrating?

2014 European Speedway Championships
pandorum replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in International World of Speedway
Laughed myself silly I am a big fan of Kel and Nige but you are spot on there. Nige's head would have exploded during that one and Kel would probably have done exactly as you said. Those guys get excited about speedway and that was one of the most exciting meeting I have seen (albeit being just a TV watcher) for a couple of years. -
Why do people need to know him to have a negative opinion of him. I love watching him ride and think he is one of the best riders around but I am old fashioned and tend to dislike people who are abusive to women. And Darcy was not in court for a traffic offence. What sensible person gets beaten up so badly he ends up in hospital and does not pursue the perpetrator in court? Nobody normal. He seems to be a horrible little scroat. But it's for his actions at work he is in the limelight for here and he was caught with booze in his system the day before a GP. He admitted his guilt in a TV interview that was broadcast. He should be judged not for his talent but for his offence. If his crime demands a long ban then give him a long ban same as would be given to a complete nobody. He let himself, his teams and his fans down and deserves all he gets. It's his own fault not anti Poole fans or anyone else. Of course the sport needs him but that can't be used for setting a precedent especially with the serious nature of his offence and it's potential ramifications.

So basically exactly what they did last time and I think the time before that. I don't blame them to be honest. They have said it's not just for them but for Russian riders who are up-and-coming and I believe them. Russia could have won two world cups if not for a bigger bunch of imbeciles in charge than we have.
