  1. Yeah that's the one I used last time and today excellent picture and you can control the size of it Kudriasov is a decent rider. He will no doubt be in the mix for the Russia team. As long as they ignore Emil and pick the Lagutas I would say him, Logachev and my pick Tarashenko. Nice to see Scotty riding on a Sunday afternoon. I wonder if Cook will get a ride this evening?
  2. That's nasty. Looks like the lads season is over. As we discussed these innocuous crashes are quite often the worst. I still remember Lee Richardson fall and thought 'collarbone' and then gave it little more thought until the next match and heard the bad news. Best of luck to Anders and hope he makes a full recovery.
  3. Missed a couple of heats but good last heat decider. Gnistorna lost the match heats ago. Many thanks to Niclas for making the meeting more enjoyable with his contribution. See you folks on Sunday probably as I will likely pop along for a while. Am giving that nonsense on Saturday a miss as I have some paint drying that needs watching
  4. Let's hope the lad is OK. As Nige and Kelvin say we wish him well what's happening with the stream as the match is back on
  5. Saw him once. 18 point maximum for Y Sweden against Y England on a track he had never seen. I may be wrong but I seem to recall his death being mentioned on News At Ten. It was a shock and a sad day for the sport.
  6. Yes that was a very clear interview. Great work
  7. Some of the worst injuries I have seen came from falls like that. The big crashes with riders flying all over the track tended to see them dust down their leathers and get on with it. Hope he is OK as we have had plenty of injuries already. He is moving which is a good sign.
  8. The way the GP is going that figure may be one of Nige Pearsons 'packed houses' soon. I watched Tampere for free and I felt robbed This kind of racing is great to me GP needs to up it's game a lot or it will be playing to empty seats. I miss the Danish and wish our Premier League took a bit of a lead from the Allsvenskan and showe some of its matches for free. Stream got lost
  9. Commentator gave them some stick and a bit of a fight back. They have a decent side Thornblom and Berntzon have enough experience as does Ago in the top league and Lahti is better than this. Fricke is becoming a very tidy rider to have in your team. He does a lot of leagues. Pity some of ours were not as ambitious as there is no excuse really but of course our riders seem to have plenty. I missed that? I heard him talking about Maxim but was distracted by Face Book I loved watching this league when it was free and it's great to be able to see matches again now and then.
  10. Yeah nice to get back on the International section not gonna bother with the rest as not really in the mood for arguing with idiots over nothing :) That's odd Ghostie as the name he has 'owicz' on the end of his name which means his dad is Bogdanov(s). It would go Bogdanov, Bogdanovs (son) or Bogdanova for a girl and Bogdanowicz for grandkid I think. Seems too much of a coincidence. Is that Pekka Hautamakis kid? I remember him from Belle Vue decent rider. Juha has been riding in this league for a few years two good rides.
  11. Evening gents it's been a while I watched the last one and they show what can be done by improving the product with the commentary. It's a lovely little track and put's our dumps to shame. As you said Alan it takes me back to the day when I used to stand on the terraces and watch speedway. The racing isn't great but it's nice to watch young riders coming on and a few of the lesser lights of the top flight. Whats the deal with Max Bogdanovs son? He is classed as a Swede. It was interesting watching the two of them last time and would have been cool to see them race each other. The kid had one good race last time so be nice to watch him improve.
  12. I myself do have a lot of idea of this as I spent 40 years in construction as an engineer and said at the time that nothing was certain as I have seen better projects than a tin shed disappear after having the drawings to ponder over. Great it has finally happened but as someone said it seems more important to gloat over it than celebrate that this very minor stadium development has become a reality. Fantastic I say and good luck to Belle Vue but I don't see why those of us that did not join in with the rather fantastical idea that the SWC would be held there 4 years ago should somehow don hair shirts and eat humble pie. The whole farce was typical of speedway and my cynicism of the sport delivering was nothing unusual as I had that for most of my time as a fan. It is hardly a National stadium but hopefully will fulfil a role with SWC and some of the bigger meetings. You sir are an idiot. But sadly I am rather ill and have just spent my time reading the highly amusing Darcy Ward thread rather than spend time arguing with idiots here. But some of the comments here are quite insulting that a speedway fan would wish the stadium not to be built. Not all of us fall into line at the drop of a hat. We have heard it all before. I still remember how Bristol was going to have a wonderful stadium and rise from the ashes. Still waiting on that one. And Norwich etc etc. Anyway back to my sickbed but once again delighted work has begun and good luck to all involved
  13. How the hell do I know. I just used his name as an example of someone who does this kind of stuff which is why I said 'a'. If I had known there would be a quiz I would have not bothered. At least I can spell his name right though Speedway could not attract Orville the state it's in so it hardly matters as it's never going to happen.
  14. Well considering the other brands this lot do speedway should just shut up shop now The Were bears????? Never heard of them. An aquarium in Devon. Never heard of it! Keith Harris and Orville?? I wish I could expunge from my memory forever. Speedway and it's growing fan base this side of the pond will be delighted that Orville is now on our side and with luck will make an appearance near you in the forthcoming season. He may even bring a Were Bear along. The crowds will come flooding back. We needed the likes of a Barry Hearn and we got freaking Orville Makes you weep!
  15. I would imagine most people thought that at one time. It was a discussion and some were cynical because it's speedway. Why should those who doubted eat any form of humble pie for not agreeing with another camp? I am glad it has been realised after so long. It was a farce but it's ended well so good luck to BV. They will need it. I don't know you from Adam but you strike me as one of the nastiest types on this place so does that make YOU a troll? I don't know Had Enough either but he is entitled to his opinion just as you are entitled to argue with it. I have been a fan of this sport since I was 14 and it's a silly but exciting sport and cynicism and sarcasm have been around regarding this sport for as long as I can remember. I trust nothing this sport says so does that make ME a troll. If we all agreed with you it would be a very dull forum. Had Enough probably does not have the entourage you do so will not have many defenders but they have as much right to an opinion on this sport as you do. Just because you had some job in the sport does not mean you are superior to anyone else here. You are a fan like me and like Had Enough. I no longer go because of various reasons no concern of people such as yourself and HE has had enough as many here have. But I suspect he has had enough of the baggage the sport carries rather than the sport itself and his thoughts on the sport are as valid as yours. Too many people on high horse here. Even Morrissey Fan comes out with some good posts on this forum. That's why its interesting
  16. Seems like an atheist plant to me which is probably a good thing Good luck to Tai. He did his bit for the sport as world champion and now is doing it for himself. Hope he wins next years GP series and wins it well
  17. A good idea so that is the kiss of death with this sport.
  18. What utter nonsense you have written. So have these continental stars just started riding on Sundays and Tuesdays? By looking at the past you would realise what total tripe you are talking. Most tracks cannot ride when they like. We know this from the Past. We know from the Past Britain cannot do what Sweden and Poland do. Tracks need to fulfil a certain number of meetings for their landlords and only have certain days to do that. Very few speedway tracks control their own destiny. Rider availability? Have you not been paying attention to the past recently. Riders dumped Britain for leagues that pay more not because the race night did not suit them. Greg Hancock rode here when he lost his Polish job not because he liked the race night. The stars will ride here when everything suits their schedule and they get paid a lot. How are you going to pay for these stars? Maybe a couple of teams could afford them but the rest? These guys are not going to fill stadiums whatever night you have. You prove your stupidity by accusing my post of advocating Utopia but then go for that yourself with your couple of lines of complete drivel about accommodating Continental riders.. We do indeed need to get the race night right but for the UK that should be having both leagues (obviously the EL would be no more )on Friday and Saturday night speedway again for those who can use the weekends which would be attractive to people. Which means we need to forget the foreign stars and go with our own and those imports who commit to UK racing. And there are more of them than the fly by nights that use the UK to test bikes and allow them to get some race time in before they race in the important leagues. We will never get back to the days when the UK was the best in the world but to argue we should not look to that era for guidance and ideas is the rambling of an idiot. Your Utopia with teams racing on Mondays or whatever every other week and the top riders pouring back into the UK is complete tosh and will NEVER happen here. Speedway here cannot afford the top guys anymore as it is on it's knees and losing customers at a rate that will soon become untenable. It needs to become insular and start to invest in riders here rather than give Greg Hancock or Tai Woffinden what they want and end up bankrupt.
  19. The sport would be bankrupt in less than a week. Where would the crowds come from to pay for that? The sport is tiny over here. I am sure there would be a buzz around Manchester once they knew Greg Laguta was coming. Or perhaps not? The sport was hardly heaving to the gills when Emil came over and he was one of the best in the world. The sport needs a complete overhaul and start again slowly from the bottom up. It needs baby steps not complete insanity. I said I had seen it many times not that it happened week in week out. I saw a lot of speedway back then I was becoming lost to the sport by then so never saw that myself but agree totally. I loved watching a kid start off in 2nd halves and become big. One of those was a kid called Peter Collins who did quite well I do believe.
  20. Bit full of yourself aren't you? Why would people stop doing something because YOU said so? Grown men and women watch coronation street and X factor so what's different about discussing Darcy Ward? He is 'entertainment' and the reaction from his supporters to his misfortune is 'entertainment'. The little fool made his own bed so he can lie in it. Great rider but worthless scroat of a person. It's winter and this thread is something to bide away the winter months with.
  21. That is possibly the stupidest thing anyone has said here and we have Morrissey Fan. If we don't learn from the past etc etc. And I did not advocate a Utopia as that is even dafter than arguing we should never look to the past. You are arguing that speedway can never better itself but if that is the case it might as well give up. It can't improve it's product? It can't give better VFM? It can't increase it's popularity. It just has to 'get on with it'. You even contradict yourself at the end. Where the hell will they get the race nights right without looking to the past. Speedway must constantly look to the past to move into the future. Ignore the past and you never learn what works and what doesn't. It's NOT about BIG STARS. It's about making the sport entertaining for a new generation. And the best place to start something like that is look to the Past and then pick the best bits and improve them. And that isn't happening. All that is happening is like the thread says. Meaningless Tinkering. The Past had 2nd halves. And they were a bloody good idea. Only idiots ignore the past.
  22. Obviously it's all a matter of semantics but giving yourself a cool title does not mean it actually means you do anything. Director conjures up someone who is pushing the boundaries of the sport and moving it forward. Speedway is not moving in any direction so Directors are superfluous to this sport. Of course it can be argued that Nowhere is a direction but that would be just showing off. I suppose nowadays everyone has to have a cool title such as 'waste management operative' instead of 'dustman' or 'Charlie Webster' instead of 'Mad Woman In The Pits'. Sadly the sport needs more than such window dressing and could really do with a 'Director For Getting The Sport Out Of it's Self Inflicted Hole.' Sadly this meeting shows none capable of that are forthcoming any time soon.
  23. That is one of the things I enjoy here..... That and any thread about Darcy Ward
