Holsted V Slangerup Danish League 27/06/2012
pandorum replied to FTM's topic in International World of Speedway
It was a pretty horrific crash caused 100% by Greg Hancock blasting under Martin Vaculik. Very unHancock and both were extremely lucky. Martin Vaculik tweeted this to Greg which gives a very different view of what actually happened. Young martin had nothing to apologise for last night and Greg should have been tweeting Martin with an apology. Glad both are OK as Greg is one of the nicest chaps in speedway and a credit to the sport and Martin is one of the new guard and a very talented speedway rider. Slovakian sensation Martin Vaculik was quick to send Hancock his best wishes following the spill. He tweeted: “@GregHancock45 I'm so sorry for crash tonight.. I feel like after KO! Greg I hope everything is good with u!! Take care!” -
Greg OK!!! 2012-06-27 Some of you might have already heard that Greg had a crash in his Danish League match tonight in Holsted. Everything is Ok. Was taken to the hospital as a precaution at the doctors request. More to follow later. great news Porsing rode well tonight he was unlucky there

Bremner would have probably used Joey as a toothpick. He was one hard man as were the rest of the Leeds team including Norman bites yer legs Hunter. Barton would be left shivering with fear in the dugout in that company. Ron Chopper Harris was another one I loved/hated
-
As a Liverpool fan who watched us play Leeds in the 60s and 70s most of the pansies that were sent to the Euros would probably not dare be in the city if there was a chance of facing people like Tommy Smith, Ron Yeats or Billy Bremner.

Greg is a credit to the sport and I am sure fans all across the world wish him well. it is already on sportowefakty.pl with the video and watching it makes it even more amazing that he was not seriously hurt. It also confirms it was Greg's fault completely and a rare error from him. That is nice to hear

footballers nowadays seem to me slightly effeminate compared to 30 years ago certainly not as tough as they were but speedway riders never seem to change and are as mad and brave as ever. That's why most top class motorcyclists would not dare get on a speedway bike.
-
That was what worried me as well. But don't rule out him keeping up his GP appearance record these people are one of the understated wonders of the sporting world.
-
It goes with the territory mate. Part and parcel of an exciting and dangerous sport. Seen worse crashes than that where everybody got up and continued riding. Tough as nails these people and brave as lions. ##probably slightly mad as well.

That is pretty amazing. I wondered why the ambulance was not rushing to leave the track. Hancock's fault 100% a rare error of judgement from such a sublime speedway rider.
-
that was horrible Hancock looks really bad. he hit the deck head first.

Wondering when the next of those wonderful Russian league streams might be coming along. Will we see the final of the Russian Junior championship as that SF was enjoyable.

Great to see two of my faves from the Polish league doing so well. Well done to Martin who thoroughly deserved his win but Bartosz was the star for me and I disagree with Sam that putting him on another track he would not do so well as the guy is good away from home. He would do better than Harris who once again confirmed he does not deserve a pick but will probably end up with one unless Poland gets rid of that stupid GP rule. As Pearson said he is our best rider so we are pretty much screwed for the SWC especially if Wuffy's news is bad on Tuesday Very poor crowd but they missed a pretty good meeting. -

A bit unfair mate as Vaculik and the others turned down a place for reasons beyond their control. It would be madness to cut their own financial throats for the GP. If the rule in Poland continues this will open the door for Harris and maybe another Brit as the GP will again lose some of those who earned the right to be there. Crazy really as Vaculik rides for Tarnow with Greg Hancock and Polish speedway has and will not collapse because two GP riders are from the same club. Speedway is a very petty sport sometimes. # I want Emil to win but think Nicki is flying and will be hard to beat tonight. -
Lovely weather for speedway. Excellent stream. The Ukrainians look very good.

Probably because the vast majority of those interested already know and for the amount of people that Cardiff will attract from those with a passing interest is minimal. Speedway GP is expensive and is not likely to attract many spur of the moment attendees from outside the Cardiff area. The fanbase for cricket is large whilst the speedway pool both committed and potential is very very small so why waste the budget on advertisement that will bring in far less than the outlay for a national advertising campaign. -
We seem to have gone back in time Why are they showing the meeting from the beginning I thought Pavlic had wiped out Hancock for a second time Answer to question it would seem that way as there are some hellish teams in there

Do we have a coolsport link? no speedway on schedule

Excellent entertainment. Nicki 'does not like it up him' as corporal Jones would say in Dad's Army. Holder was hardly Mr Clean but did have a point. Nice to see Harris look like a speedway rider in a GP again. Will it continue? We will see. Crumpy deserved winner so well done to him. -
The interval attraction of synchronised flag waving was pretty inept and the racing itself pretty dire stuff to watch. Some really hairy moments and lucky no one got hurt mostly due to the riders being strung out so badly. The only things of interest were Kacper Gomolski who actually looked like a speedway rider and whether or not Evgen Kravchuk's bike was going to explode at the start
-
Pity as it looks a lovely day for speedway but the stream has no sound from the track ,a stupid woman saying this is a demonstration of u stream producer every 30 seconds along with a massive watermark for u stream and also an advert for the BBC spoiling the action. Also no Vadim Tarasenko Sorted for heat 5

Unless you were reading my post in some parallel universe you may notice on re reading that I never said anything at all about the PZM helping the Polish youngsters as I have no idea what PZM do for their young upandcoming starlets. All I said was that the BSPA won't help Worrall to the extent he needs, if at all. Looks interesting. Hopefully the stream will last longer than heat 4 this time. I like Tarasenko and be interesting to see Castagna's kid.

I think it's fair to give MJJ the wildcard as Denmark have a good crop of youngsters and giving them meetings like this can only help them develop. Poles and even Russia have a similar crop of good upandcoming riders. We here in the UK can only stare in envy as our lads can't even establish themselves in a p#ss poor league like the EL. I wish we had a couple of Zmarzlik's, Dudeks, MJJ's but sadly all we have are a few that might make the grade given a real chance in a senior league system that does not give them a real chance. We prefer to bring on the rest of the world over our lads. Our wildcard for Cardiff will probably be Scott Nicholls who fair enough is a decent rider but hardly one for the future. -
