  1. looked a decent crowd there. I bet they were bored stiff watching that travesty. From a fan POV the track looked OK. I have seen meetings go ahead on a hell of a lot worse that that. I can understand Nicki not wanting to race after his spill on Saturday but if it's true he was the ringleader for the non appearance of his team then action needs to be taken against him as well as his team.
  2. I wonder if Bjerre will get a max today. Knowing his luck he will probably get lapped by his own team mate Speedway loves shooting itself in the foot . Thankfully it's not on TV.
  3. good meeting. Some great racing. Iversen and Kasprzak were both in another league to the rest Not exactly impressive though was he and Squeaky beat him easily next time out. Holy S### That guy was decent last season getting the odd valuable point but has come on really well this year. Amazing. Pleased for the lad.
  4. Good to see Squeaky Zmarzlik is getting back to some form after that nasy injury last season. Another good race from NKI he is a fantastic rider. Who is that Andersen bloke? It can't be the same one who won our league with Swindon. It must just be a coincidence with the name as that bloke is pretty crap
  5. Helluva race that one. NKI takes some beating round here and Alex looked like he had done enough. But he hadn't. Nasty spill that. Glad both OK.
  6. Christ Almighty people here would whine if they won a million on the lottery. 'A lousy million the X,Y or Z lottery is much more organised and this makes me feel cheated and will probably be the last lottery ticket I ever buy'. Yes the track was bad but it wasn't the worst GP track by any means. The racing was processional except for the times when somebody passed somebody. Like all speedway meetings good races and not so good races. Yes the organisers deserve a blast for allowing such a situation to emerge and yes somebody wants a rocket up their arce. But it was a pretty decent GP and was absorbing to the last race. Tai's injury could be blamed on the track but also could be blamed on Freddie riding a bit to hard. Freddie's subsequent fall completely due to the track. But I have seen such things in may places over the last 4 decades. Was it dangerous? Not being a rider I like many here have no real idea of that. For all the moaning the crowd seemed to enjoy themselves and the presentation at trackside and by Eurosport was excellent and for once I would say better than SKYs. Sophie and Scott added a very welcome element and hopefully will both be involved again this year. The attendance looked up on recent years and if the 38000 figure is right then the recent attendances have been a lot less than the figures bandied about by SKY and the organisers. But then I once went to Knebworth to see Led Zeppelin and the 'official' attendance was 80,000 but in reality was at least 3 times that so these things must be taken with a large pinch of salt. I enjoyed the meeting. Of course I did not fork out a lot of money to go to Wales so I defer to those who went who have the right to criticise what they paid to see. I am a huge fan of Emil and was glad he won but being English I also wanted to see Woofy triumph so am sad he had such misfortune. He is very fit so should recover quickly so don't rule out the lad for the next GP. He would not be the first rider with that injury to brave the pain barrier. Of course the organisers deserve to be questioned and someone needs to answer for that. But that folks is speedway and I have seen bad tracks at normally good venues and good tracks at normally awful venues. Cardiff should have done better but somebody miscalculated and they didn't. The least they should do is give everybody who bought a ticket a big discount for next year as a sign of good faith. But they probably won't. Again that's speedway. I stopped going as the team I love is no more and the price too much of a barrier. But I never stopped loving the sport and I enjoyed the hell out of watching yesterday. I hope Emil goes all the way and that Woofy is right there giving him a run for his money.
  7. Damn shame about Woofy. Track a bit rough but what a recovery from Emil in the final. A well deserved victor and hopefully can go on and win the whole bloody thing. Hopefully Woffy will be back soon and get a rostrum place as the lad deserves it. Also an honourable mention to Chris Harris for the race of the night. Just when I was wittering on about how he had whined his way into another GP he goes and to quote Scotty 'shuts us idiots up'. Pity he could not have gotten a SF but he did probably deserve his spot in the end. Now all I want is Russia to win the SGP. Looked a good crowd and that opening introduction sequence was pretty damn good. At last speedway getting the hang of giving the sport a sense of style.
  8. anyone got a link as none of mine are working
  9. Why do people keep comparing speedway to football. The reason riders are missing is that they ride all over Europe for differing teams in different countries. This has been the situation for a long time. Speedway fans moan about it but it is simply part and parcel of the sport. If you could pay a rider enough money to make a decent living from riding for one team then he would probably stay with one team. Of course this would not take into account National championships, International meetings where he rides for his country and SGP. So even if you could do this the rider would probably still have fixture clashes. Footballers play for one team. Speedway riders cannot afford to do that unless they are semi pro and have a job outside of the sport. Those speedway riders have the added problem of getting time off from work to ride for their teams. A rider cannot show 'loyalty' to everybody and the British league is the poor realtion so riders miss meetings here. It's not about 'loyalty' as such rather making a living from the sport. Those that bang on about riders missing meetings here would do exactly the same if they were in the rider they whine abouts situation. Football, the sport speedway is often compared to is full of overpaid mercenaries that would not take a dump for the fans unless they were given a dump taking bonus. Speedway is simply a very minor reflection of that sport. Riders need to make a living so they have to dissapoint someone sometimes. Nowadays that's usually us.
  10. The bloke who empties Barry Hearn's dustbin could be good for speedway compared to the coven of imbiciles that are in charge in this country.
  11. Wozniak and Curylo did well last season but Curylo seems brimming with confidence. What chance Greg being replaced by a reserve?
  12. What a cracking match. Start deserved their victory. Man of match for me was Agent Pedersen who really battled for his points and what can you say about Wojciech Lisiecki? A memorable day for him. Well done Woofy beating Emil and getting another max. This years British GP may well turn out to be pretty exciting witha chance of a Briton not just winning but going top of the leader board as well.
  13. Yes Greg Laguta and his brother isn't doing that bad either.
  14. Saw him once go unbeaten on a track he had never seen before. Got his autograph I think his death even made News At Ten if I recall correctly. A truly fantastic speedway rider.
  15. It boils down to a simple matter of semantics. Define 'BAD'. I enjoy the SGP even when the racing might not be fantastic as I find it absorbing wondering who will make it through and it's effect on the leader board. Of course we all would like to see every heat filled with gripping racing but that has NEVER happened in a speedway meeting in the entire history of the sport. Generally you get a meeting with a few good races and the excitement comes from watching your team do well or the individual you came to support do well. Or not as the case may be! Yes some SGP have not been conducive to great speedway racing but that happens day in day out with the sport. Sometimes a track you expect a good racing meeting on produces a poorer one and then a track you expect a poor racing meeting turns out to be a good one. That's speedway as they say And lets face it the riders don't give 110% as that is impossible and some give a lot less than the 100 they should give but again thats the nature of any sport.
  16. It sure is lucky that we don't get that sort of situation in todays EL speedway due to the excellent standard of riders on show in our top league Joking aside. The top leagues still use the old 6 points behind tac sub rule and it seems to work there. Denmark uses both and that seems to work. My reason for disliking it is it favours the team with a top heavy side such as Poole who actually will find themselves having someone to use and benefit when it comes to being the required number of points adrift. Whereas usually when it happens to a team without riders like Ward and Holder to call upon they are left contemplating who to give the TR ride to and sometimes have to wait until their top man becomes available and by this time are even further adrift. The old 6 pointsd behind tac sub rule was fairer as it allowed a team to make an instant response. This T/R rule does not allow that.
  17. Not a bad meeting. Crowd at least make a noise unlike at our meetings. Sidorin made best move of meeting so far. Vostok too strong even without Laguta.
  18. I have gotten more animated reading the menu at mcdonalds than Denmark's version of Mr Shouty. Can't they get someone who is a tiny bit more exciting to listen to
  19. Interesting that some of the top Russians are now doing Danish speedway. SWC place up for grabs? Artem Laguta is doing a Woofy this year. Wonder if we will see Emil? Would also be nice to see Woofy in this league a bit. Track looks good and lovely stream.
  20. keep an eye on Tarashenko as he is a class rider. Golubovski seems a decent prospect too from the bit I seen of him.
  21. greast stuff hoping for a good stream this time Paul where did u see the line ups mate?
