  1. Polish TV no photo of Kennett. Probably not worth the time finding one
  2. Lets hope so. R&R. My prediction for Kennett. 2 bad lasts and replaced twice. I would love to see another Brit doing well in this league but if Eddie is the best we have vying for the top league then no wonder we are hopeless. Surely Cook and co could have gotten a berth if EK managed. A blank space is usually better than Eddie the Drill.
  3. good match. Holta was magnificent. Makes you wonder just how well Russia might have done this week with 3 of the best riders in the world. Sad really Hope Emil stays fit and wins the SGP.
  4. how desperate must a team be for that to happen Sure is hope they make playoffs. Go Russia
  5. I logged on to Sportowefakty home site to get the teams and saw the headline Sunday Slag Live minute by minute I thought that may well be more interesting but apparently it wasn't live dogging  Kennett riding in a big league. that will be interesting
  6. Yes but it did probably add several dozen people to the attendance so by speedway standards an outstanding success
  7. It can hardly be held at a stadium that isn't even built yet. Russia or Latvia would be interesting.
  8. I amazes me speedway fans are so naive. What other sport seeds an utterly useless team to a final of a 'sporting' competition in the hope it increases the crowd. It's like the FA Cup seeding AFC Wembley to the final because they are local SWC is now looking at a pairs competition to liven things up and who knows what rules will be introduced for that. I just watch it and go with the flow as it's cracking entertainment. More power to the SWC and it's jokers. If all speedway was this entertaining maybe the sport would not be in such a mess.
  9. This defeats the actual point of the Joker. It's there to keep teams in the running and make the competition exciting. If Demnark had a Joker it would have nullified Poland getting back in it which is the whole point of having the thing in the first place. People whine about the Joker every year but the SWC is an exciting competition BECAUSE of the Joker. It's not as if speedway is some purist sport. Rules are made up all the time and it's rare that the same rules apply from season to season. SWC has changed it's rules a few times in an effort to keep the competition interesting. The Joker works wether you like it or not and keeps things interesting. There is a thread here searching for perfection in a sport like speeedway and that is symbolic of the whining that goes on here. Fans don't like the rules, the commentators, the Joker but all those things add to a great week of speedway. SWC has been excellent this year apart from a surprisingly poor Kings Lynn round. Of course we missed the Russians, who for me could have won the bloody thing, but the Latvians entertained and we had a couple of really absorbing rounds in Prague including a cracking final full of controversy and even a few decent races. SWC will never be perfect as it's entertainment rather than sport. Speedway fans here seek some kind of speedway Utopia from a sport run by used car salesmen with the imagination of a goldfish. We all hate the Joker but if it wasn't there next year what would we have to moan about? A wonderful week of SWC speedway and I enjoyed the crap out of it
  10. Well done Marek and his Polish lads. Regardless of the controversy of exclusions and Jokers and a poor circuit it has been a superb final in terms of how utterly absorbing it has been. Commiserations to the Danes but what a hell of a last series of races.
  11. Latvia would have livened things up Czechs looking as if they will even do worse than Germany in SWC. There is no way thay can have a 4th seed next year. Sad for them but they should never have been here tonight. Having them has hardly set the locals alight. Must say that Eurosport imbicile grates on me
  12. Shows Czech fans are not daft. Watch it on TV in comfort. This seed to the final lark only works if the team seeded is competetive. Feel sorry for the Czechs as they have a proud history of great riders. I was a big fan of Ales Dryml senior, the Verners and the legendary Zdenek Kdruna.
  13. You have become even dafter. You are now saying that Kelvin Tatum did not have a 100% strong belief in himself as a rider but riders that do go on to become multi world champions just like he did in the Long Track version of the sport. So you are saying that anyone who does not have this belief is poor at speedway? I could list a lot of names here who never won a world title or just one but won't as that is as silly as you saying that those people did not have 100% strong belief in themselves as speedway riders.
  14. Denmark for me by a half dozen points. Poland 2nd and OZ 3rd. Czechs a really poor last will struggle to get more than the 9 the Germans got last time they were in the SWC.
  15. He does know what it takes to be world champion as he won the Long Track version 3 times. And plenty of riders did not make it to #1 in the world in the short track version. Are you saying Leigh Adams did not have what it takes? 'he didnt have the capacity to manipulate situations' says nothing in reality as that could imply Kelvin was clueless when it came to building a raft out of a bag full of everyday items to cross a river. If you are saying he was clueless at speedway then you don't really have a clue what you are talking about. These mysterious 'situations' that Kel is no good at manipulating and Nicki Pedersen is seems interesting. Could you highlight a few of them so we can understand exactly what Kel is lacking other than some riders ARE better than he was or could afford better equipment. We can all throw names about and say X was never as good as Y but that does not mean Y didn't have a clue. Kel is thouroughly knowledgable when it come to the sport as is Gary Havelock who seems to 'not have the capacity to manipulate situations' either, when he is put forward, especially in the talking with a posh accent situation. Guys like Havvy and Kel are exactly the sort of people the sport here needs. But sadly their lack of 'having the capacity to manipulate situations' willforever be a major barrier to them fulfilling their destiny. Oh the Humanity!
  16. "Latvia may be racing in the SWC proper for the first time in their history, but they sent last year’s bronze medallists Russia crashing out of the competition and are keen to continue causing shocks." This was a comment on yesterdays SWC site. So my guess is NO as it seems to have escaped thier notice that the Russian team was missing 3 of the best riders in the world when Latvia sent Russia CRASHING out of the competition. No wonder the sport is in a mess He is right. But of course we don't have any system for doing that particular job.
  17. You mean like Middlo did when he took over from the last bloke?
  18. The essential point of this is really not Middlo to go but whomsoever replaces him to be allowed to do the job all year round rather than as a week in the summer. This is why Lyons packed up. He wanted to use the position to nurture a team and develop young riders. Middleditch was England manager for a week. He had a poor pool of riders with little or no experience other than here in the UK. Cook was offered a chance on a track he should have done well on and was rubbish. Kennett was given another chance and was rubbish. He tried to bring in some people who had experience of foreign tracks and they were rubbish. Even his old war horse Harris let him down. The idea that Worrall would have been the saviour is both ridiculous and moot. It's the system we employ which lets us down most. Bring in Rosco/Havvy/Loram/uncle Tom Cobbly and they will have the same problem. Unless England can develop not only young talent but a team spirit they are doomed to constant failure. That involves an investment by the BSPA in Englands future. Sadly the BSPA are not prepared to invest. Lyons had a plan. They were not interested. Middlo was a safe choice because unlike Lyons he tows the line. Will anyone want the job when they know that they will never be allowed to actually do it? Even when we had Young England tests and developed young riders we never really tore up any trees in world cup but it obviously would help especially if we had them abroad. But who pays for it? The BSPA won't. Ultimately it is down to money and we can have the best management team available and still fall short due to lack of investment cash. Yes Middlo made some poor decisions this time round both on team choices and tactics. He should go. But probably the only replacement to him that will likely want to do the job the way the BSPA want it done is HIM.
  19. Most interesting thing is next years seedings. Czech Rep 4th USA 5th Latvia 6th Means us, Sweden and Russia go through the qualifiers. Some say that will be sorted next year but apart from Sweden who had injuries why should it. And plenty of countries have had bad luck with injuries. Latvia and the USA EARNED their seedings. Should make things interesting next year
  20. Well at least he knows where he is unlike Eurosports muppet who thought he was in Moldow during the Danish GP. Really good meeting, very absorbing and even a few good races. Of course we would have won if we had used Cook and Worrall who would have both gotten double figures  Shows we are at our level and will struggle to up our perfromance with whats on offer. The US did well but have a great team spirit unlike ours who just bitch and moan on Twitter. Latvia no surprise and they did it without having to cheat. I think it's Danish year this year but then it's 'not genius play' to figure that out
  21. Cheats never win My bum still fascinating meeting and anyone can do it. Depends on who has the nerve and grit to do it Genius play? Cheating you mean
  22. Well he can look smug as he isn't there to make a twit of HIMself. Like an old Stingray show 'Anything can happen in the next half hour'
  23. Funniest quote of the evening. Can't see it being bettered. 'I desperately want team GB to win' Scott Nicholls the new Micheal McIntyre Mind you Nige has not described it as a huge crowd yet
