  1. That I did not expect I thought Emil had no chance as he looked slow as Benny from Crossroads. I thought Tai and Greg would dance it but they were scrabbling for a point. Maybe it is Emils year as he seems to be getting a bit of luck. Not a bad meeting in a fantastic stadium before an excellent crowd. Pity we could not hear them as they seemed quite animated. Well done Emil. Hope Poudzuks is OK his hand looked bad. Also Ales and Andrey after that nasty spill.
  2. Oh well it seems Eurosport have someone worse than this Day bloke. Did not know that Still exceptionally ignorant to not find out the name of the place you are commentating from/on (I have no idea if they are there). Pearson gets slagged off for shouting but Day has shouted twice so far. At least Pearson knows what the hell he is talking about. In the Pearson Day war I stand in the Pearson camp
  3. I do think it's extremely rude to go somewhere as a commentator and mispronounce the name as it is insulting to the people who live there. The moron who isn't a speedway rider thought Copenhagen was Moldow and now Tolyatti is ToGliatti. It's like those morons who go to MaLLorca instead of MaYorca. Just nit picking perhaps but I don't really rate the guy above Sooty never mind someone like Pearson
  4. Cheers. I thought he was injured as well and was replaced by Oleg, The commentary team on Eurosport are imbiciles I spent 8 heats in Russian and have more idea whats going on The Muppet that is not Scott is pronouncing the name of the place wrong and does not know that reserves are alternated and not put in because they look good or did well in the last heat.
  5. How is Puodzuks? His name mentioned a lot but in Russian. Hope he's OK. And is Dryml out as well? Heat one was a bit of a stop start screen for me so I did not see what happened. Hope both lads OK.
  6. I Have a great commentary. It is in Russian Super sopcast stream but can't get an English one to work. Poor start but Greg just livened things up.
  7. Probably not on a speedway bike It's not just speeway that take for bloody ever to run a race
  8. I too favour a Russian clean sweep. But I think it will be Artem, Emil and Greg. Hopefully there will be some insane on field entertainment. I don't think they will ever beat the strongmen bending steel bars and lifting cars as that was pretty surreal. The ninjas were pretty good too. Hopefully the Mega lada start girls will feature as they are something else
  9. Hopefully they will just promote Belousov. He is pretty handy round there.
  10. Yes Good to see it's sold out. Should be a great atmosphere. Good luck to all but I am biased towards the Russians and Woffy. I also like Karpov so hope he does well too.
  11. They have added a new pairs competion that was interesting and helped revamp the Europeans by covering it which is to thier credit. They have made good use of the helmet cam in thier Euro coverage but thier commentary team is poor. But thier coverage of the GP is just what was always on offer with the added 'bonus' of a couple of thier own analysts with Scotty and his co host Day who is an imbicile. They have done absolutely nothing in regards the coverage of GPs so can hardly be doing a cracking job there. They have done a decent job of continuing the GP world feed coverage but SKY were better with regards what was put forward during the intervals.. Of course SKY are not there anymore and it is great that Eurosport stepped in.
  12. One of Britain's best downhill skiers was a Norwegian. It's a pity we can't find someone with a Brit Grannie who can come here and shake up our speedway prospects.
  13. Greg Laguta has been the Latvian wild card in the past I do believe. Russia and Latvia have a good case for wild card picks next year. Latvia performed well in SWC and Russia have 3 of the best riders in the world on current form.
  14. Really good crowd tonight Some excellent racing as well.
  15. MY stream is going channel hopping at present and it is surprising how many kids channels there are
  16. Emil who won 3 rounds so far said that he was happy with the scoring system after they got rid of the double point final. He thought it fairer and it cost him points. I think it's about right now. People have an incentive in the SF and final. They can score more points that count towards thier total. Coming last means zero which is fair enough to me. I can understand the 4321 scoring in Pairs as it gives an incentive to team ride but to have it in individuals is not a great idea.
  17. Jesus Christ most people refer to it as England even Scotty Nicholls referrred to it as England in the SWC. Get over it. Scotland is just a county in England the same as Wales. They sold themselves to England centurues ago. Even the Germans called it England in WW2. And if it was good enough for them it's good enough for me
  18. Got to agree. Cookie should save himself for the real test matches England ride in after all he is a special case in his own mind. But of course these real test matches are few and far between here and this about as near as we will get at the moment and a good vehicle for PL riders to make a case for themselves. Cook is just another PL rider who scores a few points in a very weak top league set up. The idea he can't afford to ride is ridiculous and it is clearly nothing more than him having a pet lip that he was dropped after a poor WTC performance at a track he was expected to do well at. He had a chance and blew it. Now he has another chance and has blown that too. Whoever is managing the England team should bear that in mind and give the opportunities to those that don't behave like spoilt children. His nemesis Ben Barker may be an idiot but he does not turn down any chance he has with the National side and tries his guts out when he gets there. He may not be a PC or Mike Lee but he gets stuck in. Cook is just being a baby and will never amount to anything unless he starts to ride in higher league racing in places like Poland and Sweden.
  19. That's the graphics guy. he is so stoned he is just wandering around the pits thinking he is on holiday in Corfu.
  20. Danish graphic guys tend to be a little laid back. Probably the cannabis Decent racing. Jablonski's both look decent.
  21. LMAO. But to be fair to Pearson. How many of these other people have less than a minute to describe what's going on? So it's a little bit unfair to compare what he does with say a football commentator. I am sure I heard Day say 'wooah' during the Europeans so maybe it is a stock speedway phrase. At least Nige knows where he is which Day certainly cannot boast.
  22. You don't need to be 'in the know' to figure out what that is all about. Especially if there is the added 'insult' to his sensibilities and Barker is riding. I always thought speedway was a man's sport but it seems a few children are creeping into the sport. Well his loss is someone elses gain. Give the spot to someone who wants to ride for England and remember this next time something important comes up and don't even bother contacting Craig as we now know he won't be able to afford to ride for his country.
  23. To be honest I don't really know what people are expecting the bloke (Nige) to say. his job is to make a pathetically attended truly boring (race wise) speedway meeting on TV look and sound exciting. He is not an idiot and is very knowledgable about the sport from a fan perspective and knows as well as we do how much of a waste of space the Italian GP really is. But his employers expect him to bull it up as something decent because they are covering it on TV. Nige did make a few reasonbly negative comments about the racing putting it into perspective which is about all he can really do. The Eurosport bloke did not say how bad the crowd was or how awful the racing was either but Nigel Pearson has forgotten more about speedway than Mr Day will ever know. I have been watching sports on TV now for over 50 years and don't see anything Nige and Kel do that isn't done in pretty much every other sport. They shout and get excited. Big deal. But one thing they can never be accused of is not knowing the sport inside out from both fan and rider perspective and I would rather have a commentator who knows what he is talking about than someone who doesn't. I still remember BBC coverage where the commentary went along the lines of 'red, followed by blue with yellow trying to get up the inside'.
