Craig Cook Declines Test Meetings Gb V Aus
pandorum replied to Fiesta's topic in International World of Speedway
You don't need to be 'in the know' to figure out what that is all about. Especially if there is the added 'insult' to his sensibilities and Barker is riding. I always thought speedway was a man's sport but it seems a few children are creeping into the sport. Well his loss is someone elses gain. Give the spot to someone who wants to ride for England and remember this next time something important comes up and don't even bother contacting Craig as we now know he won't be able to afford to ride for his country. -

To be honest I don't really know what people are expecting the bloke (Nige) to say. his job is to make a pathetically attended truly boring (race wise) speedway meeting on TV look and sound exciting. He is not an idiot and is very knowledgable about the sport from a fan perspective and knows as well as we do how much of a waste of space the Italian GP really is. But his employers expect him to bull it up as something decent because they are covering it on TV. Nige did make a few reasonbly negative comments about the racing putting it into perspective which is about all he can really do. The Eurosport bloke did not say how bad the crowd was or how awful the racing was either but Nigel Pearson has forgotten more about speedway than Mr Day will ever know. I have been watching sports on TV now for over 50 years and don't see anything Nige and Kel do that isn't done in pretty much every other sport. They shout and get excited. Big deal. But one thing they can never be accused of is not knowing the sport inside out from both fan and rider perspective and I would rather have a commentator who knows what he is talking about than someone who doesn't. I still remember BBC coverage where the commentary went along the lines of 'red, followed by blue with yellow trying to get up the inside'. -

Were Nicholls and Day similar prats making stupid comments about the pronounciation of Vaculik as he lay flat out on the track during the Europeans? These guys are LIVE and commentators do make silly comments in the heat of the moment. in ALL sports. I don't like Day but don't make it a vendetta like some here. Mr Shouty gets excited about our sport and has his favourites like Darcy and Woffy but his commentary is no different from other sports who have commentaors who shout excitedly during incidents. Kel and Nige are trying to commentate on 60 seconds of action and do a bloody good job. You should check out a Danish meeting if it's simple commentary you want albeit in Danish. Day and Nicholls have their moment during the Europeans and come up wanting compared to kel and Nige. They also shout a bit and make stupid comments. We will see next week if they can improve. -

'Tai is leadering the points' if Kel or Nige said that there would be people all over their arces. I give Day some credit but he is a mollusc compared to Nige's Lobster Go Woffy -

Bits of decent racing but mostly dull. Where it is exciting is the race for the title. Emil having a wobbly tonight. Might make semi but too many riders seem faster. Woffy has a really good chance tonight to bridge that gap and put himself in with a seriously real chance of winning the title. I like both lads a lot so am a bit torn with having an English lad in with a chance. Good luck to both. -

I am going to see them in San Bernadino on the 13th of next month Woffy looking good. Will he make it 2? Emil needs to make the semis at least. -

Shows how dire the place is when Emil and Greg can't pass Covatti. No disrespect to the lad as he is a decent rider but the place is a tomb when it comes to 'proper speedway'. The crowd just about manages to qualify as such by definition but there were more people in my local ASDA this morning and nearly as many in my local library I am a bit annoyed as I miss Krsko as I am in America for 3 weeks in September but manage to see this really dull excuse for a speedway meeting. Hopefully we will never see this place again as a GP. -

A truly dire place to hold a speedway GP but hopefully it will be the last there. Emil for me with maybe Tai, Nicki and Darcy providing his sternest challenges. Covatti might spoil someones night. -
It puts every track in Britain to shame. that's for sure. Really looking forward to that meeting next week. And GP wise compare it to the crapheap a GP is being run at tomorrow and some of the dumps recent GPs have been held at. Of course charging the earth will probably empty the stadium but we see that in Poland too. But as long as Artem Laguta is involved they will probably turn up in decent numbers.

heavy rain and thunder on forecast. looks that way Oh well there is one on next week so we might get that have a good day mate

I will give it till 3 then give up

Hope we are watching the right stream

Should be easy win for them wonder if Laguta will be there after Denmark last night.
