Tai Woffinden
pandorum replied to David Haddock's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I been an Emil fan since even before he won his first GP and really wanted him to win this year. Being English I supported our representatives but did not even consider Woffy at the start of the season. Top 8 as a goal was sound thinking by him. What he has actually achieved is phenomenal. I doubt anybody would have envisaged him being where he is in August. Can he hold on? I think he can. Emil seems to have collapsed under the strain of expectation. Will he recover? Always a chance but Woffy looks good everywhere nowadays and I doubt if the remaining GP tracks will phase him. Still between this very worthy pair and all to play for. Whoever comes out on top deserves it thouroughly. Before Latvia I thought Emil had the edge but now it seems Woffy is the one with it all to lose. Should make for three very gripping GPs. If we do get an English world champion I wonder what British speedway will do with it? -
Enjoyed that! I had thought about watching the SKY meet but I have some paintwork that is drying so thought I would watch that See you boys in Sweden

Definitely very enjoyable. If you mean Cook mate my answer is 'so what'? :) Big fish little puddle They were tac subs mate
-
I don't respect him mate. His antics at Ipswich and his performance with the young GB team. Lets see him in a really good league and see what he does. I doubt he would even shine in Polish 1 let alone one of the top leagues. He got a chance at the top level at Kings Lynn in the SWC and he was rubbish. His whining antics when he got replaced did not impress me!

Until Cook proves himself in the real speedway world he is never going to amount to much. To be honest I don't rate him that highly as I see to many really good prospects in the foreign leagues. Pawel Przedpelski has come on hugely since last season and I bet next year he isn't just riding in Poland. Our lot are comfortable as big fish in a puddle that is British speedway. Looks like Adamczak has burst his bubble .
-
True sadly. Our lot are probably sat waiting for Sweden or Poland to call them when other riders go out and find berths with these teams. I lauged that Cook could suddenly afford to ride for GB but that is about the limit of his ambition it seems. Arty deserved that win They seem in a hurry #9 in 45 minutes. Are you sure this is a Danish meeting?

The caption guy is on the wacky baccy again

Jamrog had a couple of good scores in Extra League last year. He is not a bad rider. Adamczak was pretty handy in Division 1 and looks very good here. Poland has a huge crop of potential and looks like they will dominate for a long time to come. Makes you wonder where the Brits are if the Danish league is looking at future prospects. The likes of Cook have done nothing really riding in PL or a weak British top league. If 4 Poles can get themselves across to Denmark what exactly is preventing some of our lot turning up and trying to expand thier horizons?

Wild Cards 2014

So what? -
Looks like Artem has bike problems to sort out in time for the Polish POs. Be interesting to see how Jakob Jamrog goes. I like that guy. Bit of a Polish invasion of Denmark tonight. Should be interesting.

Does that include the dozen people that attend Lakeside during TV broadcasts. so more like 35,012. -

Well he certainly has shut all of us doubters up. To come in at such a low start number after a very poor debut season and achieve this status shows him to be very special indeed. Good luck to the lad. -
Wild Cards 2014
pandorum replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Both Laguta brothers should receive wild cards. The other should go to a rider who has not had a chance in the SWC. The usual suspects have had thier chances. Gollob should not get a pick as he is clearly not interested anymore. But of course picks will be doled on the basis of countries that stage GPs as usual. -
Sky's Additions To It's Speedway Coverage.

Expensive to cover, unreliable due to weather and sudden breaks in water service pipes, poor viewing figures, lop sided fixtures, poorly prepared racing surfaces making racing dull and boring, non existent crowds for live meets making for zero atmosphere. Overseen by a crew of imbiciles. Hell it's perfect for a TV company to snap up. I will be surprised if they are not fighting over the rights to speedway.
