Lakeside Vs Poole 1st Sept (sky Meeting)
pandorum replied to SCB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Some pretty sad sentences there mate But also true of this dying sport. I saw a couple of heats on SKY but turned it off and found something better to do as it looked dire. I do have sympathy for promoters regarding weather but the EL makes it's own problems by having too many matches and making the only thing that matters the Play Offs. I can understand your pain as like most here have seen a lot of speedway and cannot understand why the powers that be treat the fans so shabbily. My team disappeared a long time ago and nowadays I have much more interesting things to do than stand in a dilapidated shed waiting for something to happen. The orange sentence sums up the sport here nowadays and it saddens me that it has come to that. The fools squandered the Golden Goose and now desperation has set in and probably will remain until the sport is on the edge of extinction. Too expensive, little or no value for money, fans treated like walking wallets. The sport can do nothing to attract people like me back as foreign travel and heavy rock provide much more VFM for me than a live speedway match but to see those like yourself and TWK throw in the towel shows that realisation will have to eventually set in with these people but likely as not it will by then be too late. When the sport begins to be seen as a joke not by the rest of the UK BUT by those that love it then it is really has reached and probably surpassed it's 'tipping point'. I love the sport as much as anyone here but it has never gotten out of the 70s and that is a death sentence for something like speedway. Bereft of cash, ideas and leadership it is drifting along closeted in it's own bubble of self righteousness oblivious to it's most important asset, the fans! It will surely be ironic if we see the building of a new National Stadium but by then most diehards have done the same as yourself and discovered better things to do than hand large sums of hard earned money to an ungrateful promoter who could not care less what you think as long as he can get his hands on that cash. -
Gorzow Gp-30th August 2014
pandorum replied to mickthemuppet's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
He does well away from Gorzow so is not a one trick pony. He rides in Sweden and wins races. He rode well here. What else do you need? If Chris Harris is qualified to ride in SGP then Squeaky certainly is -

pandorum replied to mickthemuppet's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well done Squeaky what a fantastic ride from him. Him and MJJ should be in next year whether by challenge ( I have no idea if they are in it) or picks. I bet Gorzow has gone mental. I have no idea as I lost my stream after MJJ crossed the line That is a bit unfair. the kid is a great rider and it's not his fault one of his fans is an idiot -

I would love Tai to retain his title but do hope that Greg is not too badly hurt and makes it back to Vojens. Nasty smash and hope NKI is not to bad either. Your boy doing well tonight no doubt but he is a good rider and probably a better singer than Morrissey -
I could not give a crap about Poole one way or the other so don't put me in there with the Poole haters. Whether they win lose or draw is nothing to me. I just like watching speedway on TV. And I was expressing MY view NOT yours or Gorzow or the FIM. I agree we don't want to lose Ward. A long ban would not help the sport And who the hell said here they want to see him banished forever? You spout some nonsense sometimes.

It's sad that a decent rider like Woffinden may well miss out on a chance to go for gold due to his hand injury and this bell end might sneak back in the GP next year on some stupid technicality. He does not deserve to be in the GP next year. He does not deserve a pick ever again as there are plenty of decent riders with speedway skills that would do well in SGP. Why should THEY be behind this bum in the queue? Let the worthless clown qualify if he wants to be world champion. I don't like him as a human being but of course recognise he is one of the best our sport has but HE is responsible for his problems not the FIM or the BSPA or the restaurant he decided to drink in. But just because he is one of the best does not mean he is deserving of a place among the best. He lost that renown when he turned up at a GP with booze in his system. He has lied in front of the TV camera's about this and according to one of his GP comrades lied about the test reading. Of course we don't want to lose such a talent. Speedway can ill afford to lose the Ward's and Dudek's it has. But he must know he is being punished. Ban him from all racing for this season and perhaps the start of next. Give him an SGP points penalty to ensure he can't sneak into 8th by some miracle. Make it plain he will never get a pick in SGP ever again and therefore will need to qualify for 2016. Make it mandatory for him to be tested at every FIM meeting for the foreseeable future and if he transgresses again he will be banned for life from FIM meetings. He want's to be world champion so hit him where it hurts most. Then just maybe if he ever achieves that renown he will perhaps be worthy of it.

Yes pretty dull but I enjoyed heat 11 That is what I like about the Danish format. Every now and then it throws up a race like that. I could not see anyone beating Doyle then Sogard does that. It's a pity we don't give our youngsters a chance to have a night like his in the EL -
I used to love watching Arthur and his retractable leg. He could extend it to cover the whole track when he went into the bends Great rider and even greater character

4 team final September 12th -
That's your hate not mine mate. I was expressing my opinion NOT yours I feel sorry for Poole fans as well
-
There are other teams involved as well as Poole. Ward has let them down too. The idiot deserves all he gets but it's a shame his teams may suffer as well.
-
If that is true then speedway is a joke............. oops sorry forgot myself there for a second Having read what's below that is quite sensible. So Ward not off the hook yet. He needs to be taught a very severe lesson and not just HIM!

Just caught up with this on the Polish catch up site. Nicki was well owned and it looks like Emil will be SEC champion unless he throws it all away. Nice to see Bogdanov do well. He rides in Denmark so at least knows the tracks. Good also to see Pavlic show some spirit. The SEC is certainly a success after 2 years with the new format and hopefully see Woffy back in next year. -
Exactly. Look at Homer Simpson. He nearly blew up Springfield and he was promoted for saving them from a disaster he caused. 'Eenie minie miney moe'

If Ward gets off scot free than speedway will look a joke to the rest of the world. Oh sorry about that my fingers just went haywire for a second. I forgot speedway already is a joke to the rest of the world. ## Note to self speedway and joke in same sentence is NOT an oxymoron
