  1. SCB website reports that Ben Barkers second sample has returned a positive result. His suspension is confirmed and he has to appear before the SCB in September. Guess that means another facility. Almost unbelievable.
  2. Having seen who the Brummies have guesting for them I can see Kerr, Edwards and maybe Nicol riding for the Gladiators. Add in RR so another 1 needed to join Morley & Mugurk.
  3. And just to add to that, will there be any official FIM/SGP merchandise available? In previous years, in addition to the unofficial street vendors, the organisers had their own official sales points. GP merchandise seems to be non-existent this year. Any thoughts?
  4. Going to be hard for Poole to make changes, but with their recent poor form it will no doubt reflect in the August averages. That may be the opportunity to make a switch and given the Ford’s extensive list of contacts, who knows who they might be able to tempt over for a couple of months. Berwick seem to have done ok finding Jonas Knudsen.
  5. Poole currently out of form. 10 point home win.
  6. Any team news available? Guess it’s RR for Starke and MPT with guests for Kennett (injured) and Andersen (Danish League).
  7. Taken from Plymouth Speedway Facebook The Plymouth Centurions are happy to announce the signing of 3 new riders for this Tuesday’s lineup at the Coliseum. Ben Phillips who has been filling the vacant Centurions spot for the past handful of meetings has shown great improvement and commitment to Plymouth and will now be a permanent team member for the remainder of the season. Rhys Naylor who rode for the Centurions in their last meeting showed that an 11 year absence from speedway hasn’t phased him in the slightest and he will lineup at reserve with former Plymouth Devils mascot David Abraham. David, who switched from speedway to trails and motor cross back in 2013, has had some recent practice laps around the Coliseum and has impressed Plymouth management enough to find himself at reserve for this Tuesday’s meeting against the Mildenhall Fen Tigers.
  8. I’ve just been told that Edward Kennetts average is GOING UP to about 8.70 for July. How can that be right. He hasn’t turned a wheel in anger for at least two months.
  9. Surely streaming can’t be a problem. The relatively few clubs who do it wouldn’t continue it if it wasn’t at least covering its costs..would they?
  10. Lasse must be a doubt after his off on Friday night, not forgetting WTF Monarchs are at Plymouth on Tuesday where anything can happen. If your going take a few pens.
  11. Brummies might need 2 guests. Just seen Shane’s named in Long Track of Nations meeting at Herxheim.
  12. Stefan Nielsen presumably ok after his fall (and medical attention) at Perry Bar last night.
  13. Sedgmen is a possible guest for the Tigers……..or I am wrong in thinking he left them under a bit of a cloud?
  14. Taken from International Section. Both sides missing riders. Brennan and Kemp on international duty in Czecho.
  15. The official scorecard shows Chris Gay was the referee with Gary Allen as his trainee.
  16. Watched on Poole livestream. Diamonds tried hard and contributed to some good heats. First time on the Poole stream and thought it was pretty good and to me was fair value so might use it again in future. Anyone else watch it.
  17. Poole have just put out a tweet saying ‘on as it stands. Track holding up well. Sunshine due shortly’. Of course if you don’t fancy risking it in person you can jump on the Poole livestream when it’s confirmed it’s on and be entertained by Scott Mitchell commentary.
  18. Please have a look at page 112/3 of the 2022 regulations as shown below: 012.4 FACILITIES Speedway Control Bureau Regulations Absent rider(s) 1 - 3 by MA - G or RR 1 absent rider 4 - 5 by MA - RR (unless RR is already being used then it’s a G) Both riders 4–5 - RR x 1, G x 1 at the Team Managers discretion Absent 6 – 7 - Premiership League if not a Rising Star = G Championship League = G To me that means the Brummies could have used either RR or a guest for the rider number 3 in the averages.
  19. Anyone watch the livestream of the meeting? Thinking of buying the stream for the Newcastle meeting (don’t laugh). Is it any good.
  20. New averages mean new choice of guests. Ryan Douglas scorecard looked very useful last Tuesday and I believe Scott Nicholls is a possible. If Henry has jacked it in as was rumoured around Exeter last night it could mean a guest appearance for Jason Edwards. Probably totally off beam but we’ll see.
  21. There’s a rumour going round some Exeter lads that Henry is going to jack speedway in right now. Anyone know if it’s true and why.
  22. Just home and would like to suggest some improvements for the home management to consider, fully accepting the unusually large size of today’s crowd: 1. Make it clear on your website and other relevant publicity that card admission on the night is only available at the new grandstand entrance unless of course you have imminent plans to offer this at the old grandstand turnstile. 2. Make it clear with permanent signage at every entrance point, which queue (cash only or card only) spectators should join and employ/brief sufficient staff on how to guide ‘punters’ to the appropriate areas for speed of admission. 3. Please consider reintroducing spectators having pit access until say 7.00 pm Thank you and congratulations to your Pirates on an impressive performance. Edited to add a suggestion that opening the gates earlier may well have eased the congestion.
