  1. Extract from 2024 regulations: 011.1.1 Premiership & Championship Leagues Premiership League, teams will meet on 4 occasions, 2 at home and 2 away. Championship League teams will meet on 2 occasions, 1 home and 1 away. Play Offs will involve the top 4 teams in the final League Table in a series of home and away ties on a knockout basis. 1st placed team v 4th placed team 2nd placed team v 3rd placed team The highest placed team will have first choice of the home or away leg (in both semi-finals and final). If at the completion of all league fixtures 2 teams are tied on league points the Points Difference between Points For and Points Against will be calculated to determine the hierarchical order. Play off meetings will be determined by aggregate heat points scored in the home and away meetings. In the event of a tie on aggregate with the semi or final, the outcome will be determined by the Super Heat format. The winners of the semi finals on aggregate will contest a 2 legged final home and away with the aggregate winner being crowned the League Champions. A rider may only guest for one team in any 2 legged tie (home and away)
  2. That’s a surprise because I was told that Ken Burnett was doing the press stuff on the Island this year and he’s very experienced with media matters.
  3. 280 miles from his Midlands base to Glasgow. 165 miles from his Midlands base to Poole.
  4. Another headache now with Dan Thompson needing time for his dislocated shoulder (sustained in SON2) to heal.
  5. Drew Kemp the obvious guest if required. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Dan.
  6. Think lbw should see how the declared riders come through Monday and Tuesday meetings before posting his (over optimistic) prediction.
  7. Are BBC Radio Oxford covering this? Link please.
  8. Noticed on at least 3 occasions riders who were tight on time went to tapes in the wrong direction. Is that allowed? Thought it was outlawed and attracted a fine.
  9. So Birmingham senselessly dump Zach Cook. How will he react? Disillusioned or dynamite. Watch out Bears!
  10. Zach’s better off out of it. It must be costing a fortune to keep the Brummies going with two Poles and now Freddie on the payroll. I wonder if they will survive. Zach will be an attractive proposition for other Premiership clubs. Good luck to him.
  11. I believe heat 13 was stopped because Ben Barker was deemed to have moved at the tapes although Ben Cooks flip obviously attracted the attention.
  12. If tonight’s gossip is right, Batchelor will replace Brennan. Gladiators will be without both Covatti (injured) and Newman (wedding). Quite how they cover that remains to be revealed.
  13. Slightly off topic, Covatti and Brennan are entered for an individual in Krsko (Slovenia) on Sunday.
  14. If Brennan is needed by Gdansk (which seems very likely after he was top scorer last meeting) I wonder if Poole might offer a guest booking to Tate Zischke who’s in good nick and has been to Plymouth already this year. If not Sedgy wouldn’t be a bad shout.
  15. Garry May only needs one meeting out of Covatti who then goes AWOL and Plymouth get a full facility (albeit on a temporary basis under the 2024 regulations).
  16. If Nico is unscathed after tomorrow’s (Monday) SGP qualifier at Abensburg (a meeting also featuring Tom Brennan) then there is no reason why he shouldn’t make his Gladiators debut on Wednesday.
  17. Hope they have resolved the starting gate and red light issues seen at the last meeting.
  18. All the talk about transponders. Does anyone know if they were actually being used in this meeting?
  19. Also happening. Oxford United in play-off action at Peterborough and in a good position. That could take quite a few off the gate.
  20. No they don’t. The technology that the BSPL invested in isn’t robust and needs further work so not in use at present.
