Championship Pairs
Dickie Head replied to eric i's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Give it to Barry Bishop on the Island on a weekend in August. That would be a show. Now a COMPLETELY neutral venue and a fantastic place for fans to visit for a weekend or longer. -
Islander 15 Please could you amend the Mildenhall total on page 1 from 24 to 34..........thanks.

Plymouth Gladiators 2021
Dickie Head replied to Marksman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Entrance is by online ticket purchased in advance on a first come, first served basis. Get in early if you plan to travel would be my advice. -
“Shame the facility is lost to the sport” But it isn’t. Barry has said the training school will continue and being the progressive fellow that he is, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some form of motor sport taking place at Smallbrook this summer especially with the other attractions on the IOW for the staycation brigade.

Announcement yesterday that the Warriors have withdrawn from the National League and won’t run in 2021 although some training sessions might happen when Covid regulations permit. Seems that some rules being imposed by the BSPL are the stumbling point.

Plymouth Gladiators 2021
Dickie Head replied to Marksman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Unless he plans to base himself in the UK, can anyone clarify why Bjarne would be allowed to commute in and out of the country from his Danish base given current travel restrictions. -
Plymouth Gladiators 2021
Dickie Head replied to Marksman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Thought I had seen that it will be tomorrow (Wednesday). I would go for Henry Atkins as the rising star. If not, Alfie Bowtell to fill a reserve slot. -
Alex Spooner on Facebook saying he has no team place for 2021.

Any idea about Bjarnes average? Poole pocket another useful loan fee. -
Poole Pirates 2021
Dickie Head replied to Pirates Of Poole's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Plymouth will make a welcome addition to the Championship- almost a local derby! -
Plymouth Gladiators 2021
Dickie Head replied to Marksman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Think the original plan was for the northern clubs to do Kent on Tuesday and Poole on Wednesday. If Plymouth opt to run on Tuesdays rather than Fridays then that offers a further alternative. -
Poole Pirates 2021
Dickie Head replied to Pirates Of Poole's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Surprised Chunk is chopped. Going to be exposed down the order for sure. -
Poole Pirates 2021

Pirates twitter now confirming Adam Ellis has had to withdraw from British commitments- caught up in the fall out from Polish regulations. -
Poole Pirates 2021

Got to say that unless Nielsen is classed as a rising star, Pirates options look limited for the RS position. Could Rowe, Bowtell, Atkins or Stoneman still be possibilities? -
If the governing body were really considering the bigger picture, they would include the stand alone NL clubs at the AGM and not leave them outside looking in.

Many thanks for the summary. Very informative. So easy to forget all the good stuff that was and still is taking place. Really hope circumstances allow the Warriors to come to tapes when action resumes.

Poole Speedway original race jacket / bib required
Dickie Head replied to edwardc's topic in Souvenirs & Memorabilia etc
There’s one on eBay at the moment being sold by Jock Somerville. Ends 25 October. Current bid £127.00 -
Have to agree with this. Terrific work from the Plymouth management. Whilst I haven’t seen it yet, I think the live stream came across very well. Really hopeful that the Gladiators get the green light to stage more meetings this year, regulations permitting, and can sort out the presentation aspect which with a few tweaks should match the high standards set in other areas.

Not quite National League League?
Dickie Head replied to Ringitsneck's topic in National League Speedway
Plymouth have said they would like to run in the slimline development league if it happens. Nathan Stoneman has been sacrificed as they can’t find a second reserve. His statement and that from Mark Phillips are at odds. Stoneman’s absence allows them to bring in Jason Edwards and Chad Wirtzfeld as Mildenhall and IOW not running in 2020. Wonder if the Gladiators are refreshing their pitch for the Championship in 2021. -
I see that Barry is planning to go weekly very soon if he can get sponsorship but with only a hundred or so viewing at the time of broadcast I can’t see it’s got legs. Any thoughts.
-
If I understand things correctly, the BSPA consider Premiership and Championship as professional leagues. So the National League - a Development league - could be considered grassroots. Am I wrong?
