  1. Live stream confirmed with Alun Rossiter as co-commentator. Purchase here: https://poole-speedway.com/pirates-tv
  2. At the Coliseum, the referee’s position is not directly in line with the gate. Sounds like it cost Hume a point.
  3. So with wee Flinty signing for Wolves, does he have to leave the Bullets?
  4. Richard Lawson will be the Gladiators guest again. Details of the reserve replacement awaited.
  5. Extract from club website preview of this weekends NDL meeting: ‘We will be issuing a Club Statement about the general situation affecting Eastbourne and all Clubs on Friday morning.’ Fingers crossed this isn’t bad news.
  6. What chance that both Jason and Rory will be fit for this one? Be good if they were.
  7. Hot on the heels of the Isle of Wight rumpus, looks like the BSPL have succeeded in alienating another guy with the best interests of the sport at heart.
  8. Kemp now in isolation under Covid regulations. Coincidentally Neil Vatcher is as well. Weren’t they together with Anders Rowe on the continent last weekend?
  9. Don’t put anything past Garry May. He’ll have the best (Mark’s) money can buy on show.
  10. Poole website showing the meeting rearranged for 22 June.
  11. I see the Berwick website match report calls Hans Andersen ‘a ringer’. The referee must have deemed his inclusion permissible and there has been no mention of a protest. Bad form from the Bandits in my view.
  12. The recent arrival of Graham Stone, the former Somerset track man, should help improve things.......as long as he has access to the right equipment to do the job.
  13. Any plans for Poole to live stream this and future meetings?
  14. This is misleading. You have to get a block of 6 tickets in line with Covid regulations. No individual tickets (yet).
  15. How about Nathan Stoneman or is he off the hook given his reported preference for fishing.
  16. In the previous post, Barry Bishop indicated that the Warriors had official backing to operate in 2021. This is an extract from his Facebook page today: Real shame for all at Somerset - we know exactly their pain... and yet still others want to prevent us running. Truly now is the time to stand up and be counted. So has official permission been withdrawn, who are these ‘others’ (ACU/SCB/BSPL?), what are the obstacles and is the 2021 season on the Island now in doubt? Perhaps Barry could provide an update please.
  17. No live streaming that I’m aware of, but may be irrelevant given the weather in the past few days and Tuesday’s iffy forecast.
  18. Should Henry Atkins be forced out of the meeting as a result of his shoulder injury, may I put forward the name of Richard Andrews who I believe to be on the Rising Stars list as a 2* rider. That will make a lot of locals very happy.
  19. Poor old Henry dislocated a shoulder last night (think it was the one he had trouble with before) whilst riding for Eastbourne in the NL. Right at the start of a busy few days that should have seen him at Scunny on Friday and Eastbourne on Saturday before coming back to the Coliseum next Tuesday. Hope he’s ok and back soon but aggravating an old injury might mean longer term rest and recuperation is needed. Worst case scenario, anyone know the rules covering injured rising stars who haven’t represented their team yet?
  20. Mickie Simpson is the new signing and he will come into the side as soon as he has recovered from a current wrist injury.
  21. Was told last night that Tigers will use RR for young Holder because of travel issues. Any truth in that?
  22. Dismiss the Gladiators at your peril. The promoter Mark Phillips and his helpers have worked tirelessly to improve the track and grounds and have made a splendid job of it. There two fixtures in 2020 under Covid restrictions were faultless. Getting a late call up to the Championship hasn’t helped putting a team together but to tempt Crump and Pedersen is quite a coup - albeit probably costly. The rest may take time to settle but their reserves are good and the smallest track in the country can be a good leveller so an exciting meeting is in prospect which could go either way. It is now possible to park within the stadium confines for £2 or you can use the adjacent park and ride parking for free and enjoy ‘the walk down the country path’ to the track which is about 300 yards.
  23. Looking at the options I can see it being Ulrich Ostegaard to guest for Stewart.
  24. Tickets for the Gladiators opener against Glasgow have sold out. No surprise really.
