  1. I personally think that Thomas Jorgensen made the transition from second string to heat leader well and as a result of circumstances he did find himself in the number one race jacket. ...but with that being said that was a position he earned and fully deserved as very often he rode beyond the call of duty and had it not been for him and Kevin Doolan our season would have been even more miserable. On to Coty Garcia. If he could get some decent machinery under him I personally think he could turn out to be a decent signing. Showed flashes of form that would back this up, just lacked the speed in his bikes at times. However circumstances may well rule him outbound the running for a team place as he would essentially find himself in the lead reserve position
  2. That's true. Sadly won't be the last time this happens .
  3. That's true enough. I suppose a what suits one side doesn't suit another and just because it works for Edinburgh doesn't mean that it'll work for us. If you manage to win all your home meetings and pick up a handful of points away, you are going to be there or there abouts
  4. Hard to say. Edinburgh proved this year that you don't need huge scoring reserves to win meetings. But in the past reserves not scoring has been the achilles heel of Berwick sides.
  5. With a British 3 point rider having to start at reserve it does make me wonder whether the club will persevere with Coty Garcia at reserve. Of course if they do it would allow for a powerful top 5 but I feel a lot of clubs will try and go down the route of a high scoring reserve rider where possible.
  6. Absolutely 100% agree with you. That isn't to say that it was for lack of effort. Guys like Hall and especially Garcia put in shifts often for little reward
  7. A free scoring reserve is always going to keep you close in meetings. And that's something we didn't always have last season.
  8. In addition to Bigeddiechek's comments I would like to add a huge thank you to each and everyone involved with Berwick Speedway for allowing me to write my ramblings in their programme. Especially Dennis MCcleary for being an absolute pleasure to deal with. Also a huge thank you to the fans for reading my column and I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I do writing it. Hope to see you all in 2016! Mythman
  9. First off....I obviously hope we run in 2016. Everything I can cross is crossed! Would have Jorgensen and Doolan back in a heartbeat. Both have been fantastic this season. Not sure how it fits but something along the lines of Barker / Fisher Doolan Jorgensen Mellgren Vissing Garcia And AN Other
  10. You guys can say what you like about Dick Barrie, but for him to let my little nephew draw the raffle and watch a race from the centre green tonight was first class of the man. He was asking him who his favourite Bandit was and really made a fuss over him, made his night
  11. Very true. Ironically that Rye would have been stronger had they left their lineup as it was
  12. Could do a lot worse than Ryan Blacklock. Rode well at Workington on Sunday
  13. It truly does mean the world to me that people actually take the time to read my column. And if people enjoy it then all the more reason to continue
  14. Whether you love him or hate him, Dicks column is always very well written in my opinion. His knowledge is second to none.
  15. Why does every thread on here descend into farce?
  16. Always found Dick Barrie to be a top man to speak to. Could happily spend hours talking to him about speedway. Always remember I emailed him a few years ago to ask him about Former Bandits rider Mikael Blixt and he kindly took the time to respond and even had it in his programme notes. Years later I am writing in the programme myself. ...although I fully realise my column is nothing like close to the quality of Mr Barrie! But it's still a huge honour for me!
  17. Unbelievable. It's been tipping it down here at times and once again Berwick has its own weather zone!
  18. In fairness to Barker he was on fire in his first meeting before unfortunately breaking his hand. Upon his return he probably came back too early as well as being hampered by machine issues. His scoring and form was beginning to pick up prior to his injury. Do agree that Worrall would be a great rider to have in the side. Always performs well at Berwick and generally pretty good everywhere.
  19. Is Kasper Lykke injured? Looking forward to seeing Jakobsen. He looks a decent prospect
  20. Well done to the promotion on this signing. Certainly looks like one for the future.
