  1. Or wait 30 years and post a question in the Years Gone By section.
  2. Ha ha, Mroz, a James Bond villain's henchman if ever there was one! Scary fella.
  3. What average would Arthur Browning be on? Ticks a lot of boxes.
  4. Guy probably means the Brummies Fans Forum, not the BSF.
  5. I think it was slick to stop riders lifting and disappearing over the back straight fence where some fans were standing. Bit like Tai Woffinden did in his first ride at PB.
  6. TBH, how could you not love The Galloping Major? He was the man at Brum in 71 and when he appeared in his banana skin leathers, we loved him even more. A great rider to watch, a 100% trier and. 110% team man. A brilliant skipper. Above all though, he's a lovely fella and that's probably worth more than anything.
  7. He'd miss any Easter fixtures though......
  8. Brum's big problem since the 2007 relaunch is the 21 year gap between the Wheels and Perry Barr. This is why the majority of supporters are, to be kind, mature and in a lot of cases, very mature. Finding and holding on to a new generation of fans is a huge, huge task.
  9. The commonwealth games will cost council tax payers money and has caused them and will continue to cause them more disruption than all the years of speedway put together. I don't believe they give a toss about a few hundred people on a Wednesday night for a few months.
  10. Wasn't he quite helpful during the campaign to bring the Brummies back all those years ago? I'm sure I have a couple of House of Commons letters from him somewhere.
  11. Zdenek Kudrna Ivan Mauger Arthur Browning George Major Kenny Carter
  12. More fuss about this in the media than the grooming gangs, says it all really.
  13. Details of Chris' funeral for those not on FB.
  14. The most successful team manager in Brummies history. The double in 74 and the NNL title in 75. RIP.
  15. All the trophies I won playing Sunday football, looked like a taxi driver's air freshener.
  16. I see the Insulant Britain lot were out in Brum city centre yesterday. I bet most drivers couldn't spot any difference!
  17. Track was decent in 85 but the stox ruined it the following year. The location was indeed, awful. As was the "stadium".
  18. True, watched it on DVD s couple of times and didn't think the racing was as good as I remembered.
  19. Wow, what an incredible speedway meeting! Credit to Panthers for digging deep when under the cosh.
  20. Kelv says "speedway out of the top drawer" so often, I'm surprised he's not sponsored by IKEA!
  21. I remember his first rides at Perry Barr in 73, progress the following year on the BSA then a JAWA, then exploding onto the scene in 75. His broken thigh in 76 halted his rise up the ranks, returned in 77 them moved to the Heathens and the rest is history. Such a shame to lose him. My sympathies go out to the Grahame family.
  22. My word, I'm responsible for the last comment on there! How times change, unfortunately.
  23. This'll bring the crowds back! Not a brilliant advert for the sport really.
