  1. Bent Rasmussen always gave me a laugh, well I was only 13....................
  2. er...you did for 16 years Ouch................not bitter then
  3. You got to find me first I can't believe Cantebury has no Speedway, with people like you Shazzy plugging away, how long has this thread been going now? Ever thought of promoting? By the way, if you think these comments are bad, got to the Chopper Bike one in General Discussions.................contracts will be issued
  4. Coventry Bees 1. Olsen 2. Boocock 3. Knudsen 4. Tatum 5. Hancock 6. Hamill 7. Shirra
  5. This is all a bit sad, what do you expect, a blonde adonis? He is 46 for gawds sake & looks great,, at least he has not sucumbed to plastic surgery. Get a life
  6. Hopeless at wheelies though! I remember him celebrating a win at Swindon on one wheel, completely overdoing it and falling off the back. I think I've got it hiding away somewhere. I'll have to dig it out. It even made 'What happened next?' on Question of Sport! Yup, did it at Brandon aswell, over the line, as he was still attached to his bike at the time he still got the 3 points, I think he gave them up after that
  7. Grachan, you are an absolute star, another classic : Tommy K was some talent, got to be up there with the best never to have won a world title & an absolute stalwart for the Bees Wonder what he's upto these days?
  8. Now come on, there can, (oops was), only one place to Bee on a saturday. Seriously though, I agree, used to start the season with the Midland League & then the Mildland Riders Championship, the final always packed Brandon, happy days
  9. Now come on, there can, (oops was), only one place to Bee on a saturday.
  10. As shazzyb said, another colourful character from childhood gone, very sad, condolences to Cyril's family.
  11. Having just looked at the "Kingsmead now" photos, got to say it is an absolute tragedy, (bit like the photo of honey leathers inside boots!! It looks like a track waiting to happen, what are the chances? is the council pro? are the locals revolting? Something about disused speedway tracks, brings a tear to the eye
  12. Bit of a travesty comparing Olsen with Pedersen, whatever my thoughts on Olsen now, he was a serious class act, Pedersen is not in the same class............, with regards to your dad, what is it about old men & disliking success, my old man was the same Joined the army in '83, so missed the big one so to speak
  13. Dirty b*****d, that Olsen oh happy days, back then as a kid, Olsen was my hero, (opinion has changed a bit these days!), 83' must have been his last season or thereabouts, just shows he still had it........... Serious racing though, pleasure to watch, keep them coming Grachan
  14. Cov v CH early eighties, heat 13 scores all square, Tommy Knudsen gated ahead of Penhall & stayed there, Gary Gugliemi forced his way past Alan Grahame on the back straight to take 3rd place & the match. Entire Bees team on the track, memorable photo of Olsen, Nikolijasen & Miller in a group hug in front of the main stand which was packed to the rafters. Happy Days indeed
  15. Gem going back a bit now, but Ian Cartwright was on a programme called "Go With Noakes" some years ago (as in john noakes - blue peter), he was at the time riding for Halifax, but all Noakes spoke to him about was the woodworking & the mouse thing. ( much to my disgust!!) So I would imagine he is still at it so to speak
  16. Roman's whereabouts has been on here before. It said he joined the police on his retirement, got into problems with drink, ended up in the nick, however, I believe he is now working on a farm in the Czech Republic. Not the best of tales, but hope it helps
  17. Just gone broadband Grachan so can now view with pleasure, great to see the clips, keep it up mate. It is appreciated. I started the soren sjosten thread but missed the clip of him, any chance of having it back for a day or two?
  18. Seen the light? turned to the the Dark Side more like, does he realise he has to have a frontal lobotomy to fit in at Crufts? He's from BIRMINGHAM - nuff said !!!! Yes, Lupus, I can see your point, just imagine, if he attended that would give the crowd at Dog Towers a complete brain cell between them, progress indeed . Just one other thing, as much as I would welcome more midlands teams, CH, Brummies etc, can you imagine a 4TT between Cov, CH Brum & you lot, we from Cov would not understand a word once you lot from the W Mids got going. (before you start I know Cov is officially now in the w mids, but it will always be in warwickshire in my eyes!!) Turar for a bit bab, whur dyow cum frum? :x

I agree with something you say gorgon...better go for a lie down, quick!!! Bloody Hell, this forum is getting soft We can't possibly agree lupus, its just not done, , you'll be telling me next you think Brandon is a superior race track compared to Monmore :-o Don't push it gorgon... Excellent................normal service resumed

  22. Tough & slightly mental, fantastic to watch, remember when he first arrived at Brandon, he could'nt stay on for 4 laps, battled his way to the brink of being a top class rider.......then sadly blew it all, last I heard he was a furniture polisher. A proper racer who was a pleasure to watch Any idea what he is doing now?
