He learned from the master of moving at the start Craig Cook I am sure of it.............. Anyway whoever is announced on Wednesday I am sure will be a good one............. RP
-
And where have you seen that confirmed???????????? Nothing official announced about it if it is going to happen RP
-
He chose not to be included in it............... And I have not seen anything about him signing for Sheffield either..............with any team signing any rider I would not believe it until it appeared either on the clubs website or the BSPA website............ RP
-
I see where you are coming from....................but the draft originally was designed to bring through the lower grade PL and all NL riders that wanted to be in it................the first year it was in the majority of the tier 2 riders were out of their depth..............last year I felt it was much fairer and this year well.............I am not sure.............I am still trying to get my head round why Kyle Howarth is in it when he has been in the full team at various places over the last few years.................surely (and I have nothing against Kyle) that defeats the object of the draft in its entirety............ RP
-
Don't forget that reserves start with converted PL averages this year instead of no average................. That is why it is the figure it is................ RP
-
And I have news for you too..................the only person with a messiah complex is you................a lot of promoters could take lessons from Matt Ford in how to run speedway as a business................and be forward thinking and not living in the past................ RP So you would have been happy if last season Jason Garitty was not protected and this season James Sarjeant is not protected??????????? RP
-
At the time in 2015 we did not know much about Paul Starke at all.........it turned out he was a great pick but it did not start out like that Kyle Howarth may be one of the youngest reserves I have no issue with that but why is he in the draft now when he has been in the main team of several teams over the last few years.........and done reasonably well as well.............. RP
-
I never said they do..........I just suggested that Cook was did not have the natural ability and talent to get the same sort of fee (for the club) that Darcy did injury free or not........ RP
-
So its ok for other teams to protect their assets ie King's Lynn to protect Kerr as an asset every season and not ok for Poole to protect Newman as a Poole asset in the draft is that what you are saying............... I think you will find that Neil Vatcher is the one behind sorting out the draft (or at least he was last year) so you cannot blame Poole for that.......... I doubt we will ever know who else was in the running for it now get off Poole and Matt Ford's case because all teams agree the draft rules and they are not geared to favour one team....... For the record as Kyle Howarth has held a main team place for goodness knows how long why is he now allowed to be a draft reserve........ And the averages used are converted PL averages............ RP
-
My point exactly........and what has gone on around Darcy has nothing to do with why he commanded the fee he did..........Cook does not have the naturally ability or talent that Darcy has to command that sort of fee whether he has been injury free or not............... RP
-
Definitely not...............he will never have Darcy's skill and talent as a rider.............which is sadly a talent we are unlikely to ever see again in this sport........... RP
-
Is it??????????? I am sure that I read the other day it was 7.........if it is 6 then why are riders that have over a 6 point Elite average allowed to double up from the Premier League???????? Surely it should work both ways....... RP
-
If I remember rightly to double down the average has to be less than 7...... RP
-
Just to correct someone on an earlier post who said that Pete Smith rode for Poole from 1965 til 1977.......he actually had his first meetings for Poole in 1963 not 65........he shows in the team sheets for Poole every year from then until 77................. RP
-
Its the sort of thing I would think too........ RP
-
That was a tea over the laptop moment if ever there was one...............that told Game On......I think RP
-
Ellis was not at Ippo last year as he rode Lakeside and Birmingham................... Anyway not sure what his plans are other than being our reserve with Kyle Newman RP
-
Do I detect a note of sarcasm there??????????? RP
-
Howarth never rode at reserve last year..............I was under the impression all averages were based around their most recent PL average less a certain percentage though I may be wrong.............. RP
-
No different to James Sargeant being protected by Coventry............. Not sure how we got a top choice of second tier rider............. Lewis Kerr was a protected rider at Lynn last year as was Ellis at Lakeside............the promoter I believe has the right to choose whether or not their asset is protected.........in most cases it pays to..... RP
-
Kyle is a Poole asset and may have been protected........... RP
-
Well I am happy with the reserves we have............. RP
