  1. Bomber won't give a rat's ar*e about the draw. Unlike so many primadonnas these days he gets on with it whatever.
  2. I just realised that Chris beat every rider tonight except Nicki P. Psychological boost or what ?.
  3. Cornish Pasty anyone ??? Well Done Chris, some of us have always had faith in you.
  4. It could work the other way, by which i mean he would come out to 'fresh dirt' every time instead of a slick racing line ?
  5. You know i've always been a positive person and the way i see Bombers 1st g.p. is like this : The first thing we heard on t.v. was that the track was slick and we all know Bomber lokes as much dirt as possible. He had gate 4 twice with that producing just 3 heat wins in 23 races. He beat : Lindback, Zagar, Nicholls, Jonsson, B Pedersen and Holta. He showed no sign of nerves, made some good gates and finished 1 point short of the semi's. Now if that is anything other than a success then personally i don't see it. Well done Chris, it doesn't seem 5 minutes since you were showing glimpses of what might be at the Moto-parc and now you are fast approaching the top of the sport. You might reach it, you might not , but everyone that knows anything about you knows that whatever the result, it won't be for lack of effort. Well done again mate and keep up the good work.
  6. Since forum rules dictate that i should attack the post and not the poster i will just say that this is the type of post that could only be written by a complete prat who should learn when enough is enough.
  7. After months of waiting I just found out in the last few days that i can actually get to Cardiff for the GP and now i find this out today. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
  8. Also, just read this in one of the many local papers - MK NEWS, i guess we could be waiting forever for speedway to return to MK. Greyhounds’ return stuck in the traps By Craig Lewis Greyhound racing is still no closer to returning to Milton Keynes. Fans have had to wait almost a year since the last race at MK Greyhound Stadium at Ashlands on Boxing Day. And many owners have had to find alternative tracks for their dogs to race on despite the fact they believe racing in MK would be hugely popular. A greyhound track is part of preferred developer Gaming International’s plans for The Bowl. The company had originally planned to move to a new facility at Elfield Park. But that never happened and the plans were switched to The Bowl after Gaming beat off the challenge of Pete Winkelman’s InterMK in January. Work is yet to start on the site with negotiations between Gaming and Milton Keynes Council in the early stages following submission of a planning application in August. One trainer, Terry Westwood, who, along with wife Marlene, races 40 dogs from their base in Hatch, Bedfordshire, has had to move his operation to Henlow. He said: “We have settled in Henlow now. “I am not in contact with the operators in MK any more, but there is one thing for sure – greyhound racing there can only be a success. “There are a lot of young people in the city and it was very popular. “Financially we had to pull our horns in and we were pleased to find places here as greyhound tracks are getting hard to find now.” Chief executive officer Clarke Osborne said Gaming is very excited about the stadium proposals. He said: “The new stadium complex design has been perfected during 18 months of detailed analysis and will provide the next generation of customer facilities. “We have looked very closely at the evolution of greyhound racing as a mainstream leisure activity and have planned ahead to ensure we provide what customers demand now and in the next 10 years. It will be a significant facility for the region.” 25 October 2006
  9. That's a sore point with me. I sat in the cafe at ASDA the other day looking out on the new stadium under construction trying to think of one good reason why it couldn't happen. As i started the journey home (still pondering), i had the new stadium on my left, and 300yds further on the right i looked down on what used to be Groveway stadium. All the buildings have now been flattened and all you can see is the faint definition of the old track. I have a tear in my eye just thinking about it
  10. Nothing in the world would make me happier than the return of speedway in M.K. but sadly i can't see it ever happening. There are more residential areas than ever and the thought of noisy, smelly bikes would cause uproar, HOWEVER, i was recently talking to someone who has previously had strong links with speedway, and he seemed confident it would happen in the near future !! - i still can't see it though.
  11. What a ridiculously childish, naive and downright stupid post.
  12. Expect a load of Cornish flags at Cardiff Great news and thoroughly deserved.
  13. This post has made my day, i can't stop laughing at the fact that i originally joined this forum to discuss speedway and some nutter who seriously beleives he's 800 years old and comes from Mongolia is getting so worked up about it that he is comparing himself to Winston Churchill and Scott Nicholls as Adolph Hitler . It's just so funny, you couldn't dream it up .
  14. My preferences for the 4 available places would be Nicholls Harris Lindback plus one other from Lindgren/B Pedersen/P.Karlsson Purely for the reason that as it is a 'world championship', i would like to see a cross section of riders from 'the world'. Gollob/Hampel/Jagus (POL) Crump/Adams (AUS) Pedersen/Andersen (DEN) Rune Holta (NOR/POL) Lindback/Jonsson (SWE) Harris/Nicholls (GB) Hancock (USA) Zagar (SLO)
  15. Too true - with all the exposure sky are giving the sport, a return to the capital could tip it into the realm of "mainstream sporting events instead of the '2nd class sport' perception so many people have..
  16. You know, i read with interest the threads about Cardiff vs Wembley and comments made in favour of the Welsh option seem to centre around Hotels, Bars, pubs, Atmosphere, etc.etc.. Well for those who like that (and i'm not saying there is anything wrong with it), we've had 6 years of that so far with more to come, so at the risk of being unpopular i'd like to put a case forward for those of us who prefer to drive to the event, watch the event, and then drive home again on the same day. In other words - go to watch speedway. For me going to cardiff involves a good 6 hours total driving, being charged to cross a bridge !!!, and getting there 5 hours early in order to hunt for a parking space. Wembley would be closer with a huge car park and no bloody bridge. You can't please all the people all the time, but i wouldn't mind a bit of give and take - alternate years and venues perhaps ?.
  17. Great post and totally agree. Bomber deserves the chance and if given it, surely sponsors would follow ?.
  18. Well, 7th place in the 2006 championship makes some of the previous posts look a bit stupid doesn't it ?. Well done Matej, bring on 2007.
