It's very easy to sit watching updates from meetings and criticise a riders performance because you don't know about the effort riders are putting in from texts. I went to Sittingbourne to see Kent Kings yesterday for the first time and was impressed but the efforts of all the Kings riders. Jack Kingston was beating Aaron Baseby when he lost his steel shoe but I thought he looked promising and came from behind in Heat 2 to bring home a 5-1. Sam Woods tried so hard and although he didn't score a point it wasn't for lack of effort, he reminded me a bit of Kozza Smith in that he tried hard in races, sometimes too hard and ended up on his bum but got back on and tried again. Sam will learn from that and he seems to have the right attitude. The track is still bedding down and doesn't look easy to ride and these youngsters are new to National League racing but I felt they would all get there given time. Well done to all the riders I certainly enjoyed the meeting.

Whoosh :-D Now on my way to watch Elite League Speedway where riders always beat everyone not just their team mates and never fall off!

Just been in contact with Adam and he says thanks for acknowledging the improvement, it made his day. Says it makes the 7 hour trip worthwhile ;-)

In terms of his confidence they were very valid points, as was the experience of racing at Monmore for the first time. I find it very sad that a 'speedway fan' can be so negative towards young riders who need all the encouragement they can get. I appreciate this is a forum and all opinions are valid but have you considered saying something positive on here for a change?

Maybe but he has ridden those tracks before. My point was that he did well tonight on a track he has never ridden before so that will help his confidence and that's good for the Kings

Good meeting for Adam Kirby tonight riding for Kings Lynn Young Stars. He scored 5+1 from 4 riding at number 4 and he's never ridden at Monmore before. Well done Adam.

Who mentioned either of those riders equaling Darcy, I said the new batch of young riders. I personally prefer to support British youngsters and will keep my opinions to myself until they deserve either praise or criticism. I love motorsport but as we all know it's dangerous and all I can say is thank you for all those who do have the balls to do it for our entertainment.

I too think this is a bit uncalled for, who knows what the future holds for any of the new batch of young riders or what records they might break. I don't think for one minute Boston fans were cock a hoop about signing ta certain 16 year old Darcy Ward but look at him now.

I think the ref was wrong too. I've seen Holder pull the same move as Pedersen at least four times and each time the rider Holder pinned was excluded. He did it in the World Cup in 2010 at Kings Lynn to the point the rider ended up on the centre green (except it's concrete). -

Let's face it Bryn, this guy changes his favourite rider as often as most people change their underwear. He's never going to understand the commitment of these young lads and their families. -

Just love the way people like you support British youngsters who give their all to this sport Celebrate when they win, commiserate when they lose but don't critisise them for trying their best  -

Darcy was rightly adored by all in 08 also but when he started winning too much the fans turned against him. Right about after he topped the avg's , and finished 2nd in PLRC - then made some funny yet derogatory comments about Ashworth. Could someone please explain how Darcy's popularity dwindled in 2008 because of his high average and comments about Ricky Ashworth when Ashworth won the PLRC in 2009 -
