  1. Whilst Newcastle Speedway is being wound up, Eastbourne Eagles Ltd the promoting company for Eastbourne Speedway in 2021 is still in existence according to companies house, so despite the claims that Eastbourne did not have the money to complete the 2021 season the company has still not been liquidated and therefore no one actually knows what the actual position was. There was an attempt to compulsory strike off the company in March 2022 but was rescinded.
  2. Not sure if the GP's have an effect on the crowds at other tracks that run on a Saturday or if its just an Eastbourne problem, which i think in the past has been happening at Eastbourne in the past.
  3. As i understand it Kent have issued a refund to its season ticket holders and Eastbourne have decided the following. 10 Match Tickets and Season Ticket Holders can have either a full refund or carry tickets over until 2021. Those people who carry the tickets over until 2021 will be given free admission to any meetings held this season. Like Cityrebel i am carrying my 10 match ticket over to 2021, if we get a few free meetings in 2020 then its a bonus.
  4. Eastbourne have loads of reserved dates. This fixture just seems to be jinxed at the moment. Also Sussex had a fair bit of rain on Thursday evening which didnt help. Maybe if Eagles were still EL they may have done more to try and get it on due to lack of dates riders air fares etc etc
  5. It would affect all pro sports in this country not just speedway and the exit would not happen overnight.
  6. BSPA website says the injured Mikkel Bech scored 6+2 ! Oh Dear.
  7. According to Speedway Updates Adam Sheppard rode in the Exeter v Cradley Challenge. I thought he was supposed to be rebuilding his equipment and staying away from speedway for a while.
  8. Eastbourne eventually got through today but threw away a few points getting there. Main concern was the time to run meeting 2 3/4 hours not all of the Eagles doing but did we really need a 30 minute interval which meant it took nearly an hour between heats 10 and 11 being completed due to the green light failing after the meeting interval. Also can someone explain the Adam Kirby situation, he only took 5 rides though the announcer said he had 7, Birmingham had only 1 rider in 3 heats was Kirby excluded for 2 minutes in heats 9 & 10 ? as no annoucement was made at the time. Also thought each team had to have a number 8, Birmingham turned up with 6 riders and lost Banks after his first ride, so only had 5 from heat 2.
  9. YES is my answer. Silly to even ask the question as he is currently our number 1 rider, as he is British Champ and he is down to ride in the Semi Final at Kings Lynn.
  10. Here's something for everyone to think about. Lets say we get to the beginning of March (not that long away) and it is announced that none of the affected riders will be getting their visas until at least the end of April or maybe Mid May, the teams are going to have to employ Brits/EU riders to fill the gaps as they wont be able to delay the season that long. Question will the Work Permit riders actually get their visas if they will then replace Brits/EU riders who have filled the vacant spots ?
  11. Scunthorpe have tweeted that they dropped their interest in new Aussie riders due to the new 7.00 ass average. So at least 2 promotions were paying attention at the AGM.
  12. Whilst everyone seems to be moaning about paying £12 to see NL racing at Rye House, when Hackney ride at Lakeside the entry fee will be £12 as well, so everyone can have a moan then as well. To be honest i think £12 is too much for NL racing and £10 would be a fairer price. As for things like programme boards, badges etc well its a shame i have only seen Hackney Badges but if you go to Lakeside you will know that the trackshop is not run by the speedway promotion and that it is also very expensive with Lakeside badges costing £7 and Programme Boards £10 much more than other tracks.
