  1. Great first lap from Pawlicki... 4th turn was superb control of the bike to not drift out... Bartek 3 off 3....
  2. Leicester running with their own contracted seven riders? A ridiculous situation... There should be rules about this... The crowds these days expect to see loads of lads from neither of the clubs appearing that night... Won't end well all this, you mark my words.
  3. Then why not have a few clauses in the contract.. A cost for one year only (or what's left of it), and one ongoing if the Panthers continue until they reach a final settlement over "x" years .
  4. Surely his TV work will impact him signing full time for anyone? Guesting means he can ride whenever he is available, for whoever wants him, and wont change the very favourable average he has that gets him the guest bookings in the first place..
  5. Tell them my shop converts £'s into Euro's... A good rate too....
  6. Just reading the Speedway Star coverage of the Wolves issue and truly cannot believe what I have just read as comments publicly attributed to as being made by the Chairman of British Speedway, Rob Godfrey.. Referring to the decision to give Wolves Speedway a years notice by the owner of the stadium (Entain Group), he is quoted as saying.. "This stands out as a bizarre and ludicrous decision to end the tenancy of a well supported, successful, viable club which has a great history in Speedway dating back nearly 100 years".. He then goes on to mention "fighting tooth and nail", and "forming an Action Group" to try and prevent Wolves from joining the many others that have gone over the past decade in particular... Imagine being the CEO of Entain Group and seeing, publicly, the business decision you have made, (made presumably after going into the great detail and deliberation that these fundamental business decisions require) being described as "bizzare" and "ludicrous"? How engaged would you feel to enter into any further negotiations with the person uttering such comments about your decision making process, and therefore, by inference, your own individual competence? When you enter into negotiations with companies, you ensure you remain professional and cordial, and never, ever, be openly critical of their initial decision, particularly when you are coming from a position of weakness and they hold most of the cards needing to be played.. Best wishes to Wolves, but an approach to change their mind based on negatively questioning their decision wont end well believe me... Let's hope whoever is doing the negotiations is a professional in dealing with such issues..
  7. Isn't that 'strength in depth' when your sixth rider in the averages is only 1.43 behind the top rider?
  8. BV 111 - Peterborough 69 on aggregate... Ouch... A fair few quid paid out for the Aces... Not so much for Peterborough....
  9. It just became fashionable (and far too easy), to bring in a plethora of journeymen average fitters from overseas... Then when they didn't work out, rinse and repeat with the next batch... Hoping that the odd few would come good... Poland will stay at the top because they know that closing opportunities for their own riders, and bringing in loads of random lads from overseas, is short term folly... Hence they protect team places for their own countrymen. ..
  10. Maybe Peterborough are lowering their averages to bring Bartek and Artem in?
  11. They must be a bit dissapointed that Leicester came back into the top league. .. They had fifth and sixth nailed on.... Now it will be sixth and seventh...
  12. Sadly not surprising... I would imagine that Buster wouldn't have gone in with no guest for Pedersen and no Worrall at home... ? Yet a fellow promotion suffers... Lucky Wolves got called off....
  13. Hope the crowd is decent (paying crowd), as it looks like a good few quid is going to be paid out tonight for the Aces...
  14. I think the Aces will win the bonus point. ..
  15. The promoters will kill it off before the lack of riders does... We won't have a rider shortage with 10 tracks.... Poland have 64 non seeded lads in four quarter finals for the Polish Championship, with the great many of them very well known and of a very decent level... The UK used to have the same until someone thought that training up the rest of the world's riders was a much better idea than giving places to UK lads...
  16. A van in Venice? Must be like a James Bond van that can go on water. ...
  17. It did say yesterday that the south stand car park had no places left... Presume I could get my drive re tarmaced cheaply if I knock on one of the caravan doors?
  18. And last one out, turn the lights off... I used to feel some pity for those who still attend regularly with that misguided belief that what they are paying their hard earned to watch has some relevance, and authenticity... Then I reconsidered and realised that the same people two weeks ago were probably trying to fathom out on that Sunday morning why the Easter Bunny hadnt delivered them any chocolate eggs.. And the same people will have written to Father Christmas every year for the past 40 or so in early January, asking for an explanation as to why he, once again, hadn't delivered them any presents like he used to regularly when they were small... Even those die hards though must question why they bother sometimes, and that is a dangerous place for the sport (in the UK), to be in, as you cannot keep taking people for granted...
